Thanks for your edits on Mysore. The relative population of the urban areas needs to be clarified, by reference to a consistent set of demographic information. Can you add an appropriate citation? Fconaway (talk) 18:07, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Bsyeddyurappa.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Bsyeddyurappa.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FinalRapture - 20:03, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please make sure you leave an edit summary when you do large changes like you did here. Thanks. --CarTick 13:00, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Per wikipedia's Manual of style we don't put titles and honorifics like "sir" , "dr" "his highness" etc in the title. They can be in the article but not in the title. please don't move the articles.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:52, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bangalore "not to be confused with Mangalore"[edit]

Hi. On 14 June 2010 (a week ago), you removed a "distinguish" template from Bangalore, which alerted readers that Bangalore was "not to be confused with Mangalore". I was the person who originally added this "distinguish" alert, and I believe it was appropriate and should go back in. While many English speakers have heard of Bangalore (whether they can find it on a map of India may be another issue!), very few English speakers had ever heard of Mangalore before last month's airplane accident, and I think it is extremely likely that many people mistakenly assumed Mangalore was either a misspelling or an alternate form of Bangalore. Even if it might be obvious to you that these two names are completely different, we should be thinking of the average English-speaking reader here. If you still feel strongly that it is not appropriate to add this note back into the Bangalore article, let's take it over to the talk page of the article and see what other people think. Richwales (talk) 04:04, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Na Someshwar has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. License tagging for File:Chamarajanagar.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chamarajanagar.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:06, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

Hi, I have undone your move of DD Chandana to Chandana TV, because the latter is not the standard name. Please always discuss potentially controversial changes and moves on the talk page first before moving. Cheers and regards, Shreevatsa (talk) 20:37, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've undone your page move of 2011 Cricket World Cup, as the page you moved it to WC 2011 is not a sensible name. Pages should use the WP:COMMONNAME. Thanks. GedUK  08:29, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You've moved it agan, without any discussion or consensus for the move, so I've reverted it. Hi. When you recently edited Mysore-Mayiladuthurai Express, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages City of Palaces and Maddur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). February 2012[edit]

Your recent editing history at Jan Shatabdi Express shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.

If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. The edits you have made as Vijethmove (talk · contribs) also account for edit warring. Also please go through WP:SOCK.  Abhishek  Talk 13:26, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Controversial page moves[edit]

I noticed that you have been continuing your move of pages to different titles withour citing a strong and valid reason. Please be aware of the Article naming conventions policy. All controversial moves should be discussed through a requested move the outcome of which will be decided by an admin. Official name does not always hold good, there is something called a WP:COMMONNAME policy which you need to be aware of. Only obvious moves can be made supported by strong evidence, all others need to be done through a requested move. Your moves are considered disruptive, and if you continue, you will be reported. Thanks,  Abhishek  Talk 16:54, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Deputy Chief Ministers in India requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. May 2019[edit]

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Kundanahalli, Mandya. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Hanumanthanagar, Bengaluru moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Hanumanthanagar, Bengaluru, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Problem with your custom signature[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Predatory source[edit]

Hi User:Vijethnbharadwaj, I noticed that "POLITICAL LEADERSHIP LEGACY OF D. DEVARAJ URS" by Mahesh. S., which you added in this edit to Kollur Mallappa was automatically edit-tagged (see filters) as a predatory publication (and therefore unreliable source). The Global Journal for Research Analysis shows up on Beall's list as an unreliable publication, and that unfortunately indicates a lack of peer review that consigns the material to self-published unreliability.

You may choose to check suspicious sources at WP:CITEWATCH, the Reliable sources/Perennial sources list, and its noticeboard history. If you want to stay ahead of these problems, consider installing the Unreliable/Predatory Source Detector (UPSD) (a user script), which automatically highlights suspicious citations.

It's probably best to remove the citation and the material that came from it, unless you can find a reliable reference to back it up. If you're sure it's true but cannot source it at the moment, a {{citation needed}} tag might be appropriate, though you're probably the most qualified person to find the right sources.

Good luck, and sorry for the extra work. --Anon423 (talk) 18:05, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion[edit]

I want to take a opinion from you, I want a clarification on this issue in 2019 Loksabha elections article page ,where results table are for only 542 seats and one seat held later. ECI recently updated the files and includes all seats for calculation vote share ,voters, registered electors and so on. It even published a article and atlas about 2019 loksabha election, I tried to edit as per Election commission of India's sources and files but one user reverted both my edits and references and said that delayed election should not be included.Whether it is a general or delayed election or not, primary source for election related articles in Wikipedia are the election commission of their respective countries. Even Election commission of India saying total electors for GE 2019 are 911,950,784 they reverted to 910,512,091, I even continuously arguing but that user not satisfied for Government's souce and files.

Can you see the discussion now Talk: 2019 Indian general election , till now no objection for my edits except the reverted editor, who also created that table . I edited based on a strong and updated reference from both govt , private and news article but the another user reverts just because it's "editors choice" and "need not necessary" and not citing any reference or Wikipedia rule but still revert make no sense to me apart from article page discussion, another discussion was also made on the reverted user talk page Nahtrav (talk) 15:40, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Hello, Vijethnbharadwaj,
Please do not ever remove a speedy deletion tag from a page that you created. There are editors who check the Empty Categories category and once a category is no longer empty, the tag is removed and it leaves this category. You do not have to worry about a category that was once empty being deleted once it is no longer empty. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:08, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Liz: In the Message it was mentioned "If you know of pages which are appropriate for this category, please populate it and remove this notice.". Hence I removed after adding this category to the required pages. Otherwise I would not mind to remove it. -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 06:33, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Vijethnbharadwaj/Local government in Karnataka requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://gazetteer.karnataka.gov.in/storage/pdf-files/Chapter%2012%20Local%20Self%20Government.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Hemantha (talk) 10:39, 4 January 2022 (UTC) I didn't check enough, sorry. Struck notice --Hemantha (talk) 12:41, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Hemantha: This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because the content from [1] was deleted long back and page was reconstructed. Please have a relook on the reports (Duplication Detector report · Copyvios report). All these reports says there is no match between the created page and [2]. [3][4][5] Kindly reconsider and restore the page. --Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 10:59, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vijethnbharadwaj, Sorry, the History section has a bit of close paraphrasing and I didn't check further. I've reverted myself. You might want to rewrite the History section a bit more. Hemantha (talk) 11:10, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hemantha: The content in User:Vijethnbharadwaj/Local government in Karnataka was modified and updated in Draft:Local government in Karnataka. Could you please review Draft:Local government in Karnataka and move it to mainspace by removing Draft: prefix since the issues are resolved....? -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 14:25, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can you give me a day to review? Since it is a bit long. Hemantha (talk) 14:33, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vijethnbharadwaj, no, there's still a lot of problems. I don't know why those links are showing 0 but perhaps dupdet doesn't handle pdfs well. Perhaps gazetteer content can be used with appropriate licensing (I don't know, I am just guessing here) but EPW content should absolutely not be used like that.
What you've done is to replace words in those articles with other words of similar meaning. That is not enough for copyright purposes. Even structure requires changing. Please read WP:CLOSEPARAPHRASE. For example, under Overview, the timeline - 1983 act, 1987 election, women reservation - is directly from 5th para of EPW article.
I suggest starting small with a rough outline and then trying to add content from different sources. Though of course my own page creation work is next to nothing. Hemantha (talk) 13:29, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vijethnbharadwaj: Have modified the page and it's much lighter now. Can you review Draft:Local government in Karnataka and if it looks good, could you plz move it to mainspace by removing Draft: prefix....? -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 13:24, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MPGuy2824:: Have rescued the links. Don't know why ECI change it often. This is second time they are doing since 3 years. Also, I did not get the link for By-Elections. Can you share me if you get the new link for By-Elections?. -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 07:20, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Most governments are clueless about the importance of permanence of urls. Anyway, I took a guess and found the by-election results here. Enjoy! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:23, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you can find the election results of Mysore state here. Go to the 3rd tab (Assembly Elections Of States Which Are No Longer In Existence After Reorganization). IMO it would be better to use ECI than latestly or elections.in as a ref. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:12, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MPGuy2824:: Cleaned up and retained eci.gov.in links only. -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 08:22, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MPGuy2824:: Yes. I agree and Thank you. Looks like they added "old." prefix like Assembly election Pages. -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 07:27, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

February 2024[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Chick-Bagewadi, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 23:47, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join New pages patrol[edit]

Hello Vijethnbharadwaj!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

New page reviewer granted[edit]

Hi Vijethnbharadwaj. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:58, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024[edit]

Hello Vijethnbharadwaj,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
