@AlgaeGraphix: No objection from me again. Are you also planning on nominating {{UK-railway-routemap}} and {{Australian-railway-routemap}}? Both are still in use at present, but I'm happy to help convert them to {{Railway-routemap}} if you are. I don't know if there are any others. O Still Small Voice of Clam 18:43, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No to {{UK-railway-routemap}} (at the present time), as it has unique options and approximately 1,300 transclusions. I hadn't considered {{Australian-railway-routemap}}, but at slightly more than 100 transclusions I guess it should be next. Your offer to help is appreciated. AlgaeGraphix (talk) 19:10, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've proposed its replacement at Template talk:Australian-railway-routemap. O Still Small Voice of Clam 20:50, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@AlgaeGraphix: I've replaced all transclusions of {{Australian-railway-routemap}} if you want to nominate it for deletion. At present I haven't replaced links to it in see also sections, etc. O Still Small Voice of Clam 17:05, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Denbigh Hall and railway map

I can live with a compromise that has the MK railway map in the article but collapsed – but I can't get collapse in the template to behave as it should. It is either never collapsed or always collapsed. Can you see what I've done wrong?

btw, putting the the map at the end of the article is mobile friendly. I don't see any issue with the references not being full screen wide, or have I misunderstood your point? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 19:41, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It may be mobile friendly, but it isn't laptop friendly (1920x1080 pixels at 125%). The text from the references overlaps onto the map. I'll have to look at the collapse method later, as it isn't working for me either at present. O Still Small Voice of Clam 20:04, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's because {{Routemap}} doesn't take collapse as a direct parameter. [edit at 22:15, 13 February 2021 (UTC) - yes it does,I just misunderstood the documentation] O Still Small Voice of Clam 20:07, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for trying anyway, at least it shows that I didn't just trip over my own shoelaces.
I'm using an 11" screen laptop, and don't get the overlap? But yes, I agree that it is rather big but always assumed that this is 'feature' of {{routemap}} to make the 'small print doubled lines' legible.
Is the MK template in any way different in principle from e.g., {{Bristol railway map}}? Is there a generic problem? I guess not or you would have seen it before... --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:18, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect that the reason for the overlap you are seeing at Denbigh Hall railway station is because the article had {{reflist|2}}, which maybe with some browsers forces two columns, irrespective of environment? I've changed it to a simple {{reflist}}, are you still seeing the fault? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:41, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the collapse problem. The collapse parameter in {{Routemap}} collapses the box if it is set to any value, so collapse=no is meaningless. It should work ok now. Your fix for the references seems to be ok, thanks. O Still Small Voice of Clam 22:15, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Re this change to your user page: can you please use #ifexist statements or something similar to prevent transclusions of nonexistent templates, per WP:REDNOT? That user subpage is causing 6 out of the 100 entries in this daily report. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:49, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonesey95: done, but in future please discuss any user page issues with the user before attempting to rectify them. You solution would have prevented POTDs scheduled more than two days in advance from being transcluded. Please bear in mind that just because a page appears on a bot-generated report, it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem - my mainlinks page is used for AWB to generate a list of articles that will be linked from the main page within the next week, and is not designed for human readability, so red linked templates aren't an issue here. Also see mw:Help:Extension:ParserFunctions#ifexist_limits regarding over-use of #ifexist. O Still Small Voice of Clam 06:40, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:57, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
