Heyo, could you help me clear up something please?

I've made the changes to the page as you advised, but how do I get my page to show up among the other articles that share it's name. This is the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scenario%28_Pedagogy%29. When I search for "Scenario" and go to the disambiguation page, my article isn't there. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your time, Allan

Well, the actual disambiguation page can be edited to add articles to them. Just add the link and then a brief description, like this:
*[[Scenario( Pedagogy)]], a bilingual online journal.

Also - can I make a suggestion about the name of the article? What about Scenario (Pedagogy) instead? That way you won't have the small grammar mistake you've got with the article's name at the moment. Chevymontecarlo 19:56, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

I Believe (Paulini song)

Hi Chevymontecarlo, it seems the "I Believe (Paulini song)" article is attached to the Superwoman (album) article. I don't know why but is there any way to the I Believe article back to it's own article? please help. Thanks ozurbanmusic (talk) 10:33, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Well, basically what it is is a redirect, which automatically takes a reader to a different page. I'm not sure how to correctly remove the redirect on the page, so you might want to ask elsewhere, sorry. I only managed to correct the other article redirect because I asked at the Wikipedia help desk. You might want to ask there instead, as I don't have much experience with things like this. Sorry about that. Chevymontecarlo 11:36, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
I should probably add some extra information about redirects - normally they are there because the article with that title dosen't exist. For example, the Heinz article might have a Tomato Ketchup redirect, if the tomato ketchup article didn't exist. I hope you understand this :) Chevymontecarlo 11:44, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Protocol

Hey there! Since you were the first one to help me here on my first article, I thought you'd be a good person to ask. :) Is it appropriate or good Wikipedia etiquette for just a regular registered editor to add a reference or refimprove tag to a page, or should that be reserved for administrators, etc? I've come across some articles that are really well-written and informative.....and don't cite a single reference. On some I've looked up a reference and added it so there would be at least one. Thanks, Pianotech (talk) 02:43, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Every Wikipedia article is supposed to have at least some reliable references. Anyone can add references or maintence tags. In fact I would encourage you. Administrators just have extra powers, such as blocking users and giving other users more responsibilities. If the article has no references, add a {{unreferenced}} tag to the top, and it will let other editors know what is wrong with the article. Is that OK? Chevymontecarlo 11:41, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, that's what I thought! Rather than do a drive-by, I looked up a few references myself and added them so it had at least some, and then added the {{refimprove}} tag instead. Also started a discussion on the article's talk page complimenting the article but calling for more references. I figure, best to try to leave the article a little better also rather than just tag it and leave. It's a very good and well-written article, so hopefully that will encourage the writers/editors to make it even better. Thanks for the reply! Pianotech (talk) 11:52, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
It's OK if you just pass by and add the tag, but it'd be better if you improved it, which is what I see you did. Well done :) Chevymontecarlo 14:34, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Pallada Asset Management

Thanks for help. I'll edit the article and get back to you for review again if you don't mind of course. Artflam (talk) 14:56, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, that's fine. You can either send me a request here or on WP:FEED. Thanks :) Chevymontecarlo 15:02, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
I deleted most part of the cities mentioned in the article and added several references (still only to russian resources). I search still for references from english resources and will add them as soon as I find any. Please let me know your opinion about the article now. Hope it doesn't look like advertising. Thanks for your attention.

Artflam (talk) 17:59, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Good, but you still need to try and add more descriptive names to the references, if you can. For example, [http://www.apple.com|Apple website]. This would be really helpful. Thanks. Chevymontecarlo 11:55, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
OK, I see. So do you think I may move the article to the main wikipedia after adding references' names? Artflam (talk) 12:29, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
sorry for disturbing, but hope this is the last question of mine. I added descriptive names to references. Please check it and let me if all is well now and I may move the article to the main wikipedia. thanks for assistance. Artflam (talk) 13:27, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey, that's fine. I'm happy to help, otherwise I wouldn't have sent you here to ask. I like to help people :) Well done with the reference names - that was exactly what I meant. Chevymontecarlo 05:37, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
OK, then I'll move the article to the main wikipedia and hope it wouldn't be speedily deleted again :). Thanks again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artflam (talkcontribs) 09:25, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Chart Error Mesg - Request for Help

Dear Chevymontecarlo,
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback & time you have spared on reviewing my first article (Tamil_Nadu_Newsprint_and_Papers_Limited_(TNPL)).
I have tweaked my article as u said to make it look better.

  • Upper case / Lower Case is corrected in all Appropriate places
  • Relevant External references are added to the article.
  • Internal Wikipedia references are also added to the article.

I tried my level best to Condense the article into parts.
Struck with a problem in my first article. I tried Chart in my article.
Almost everything is working fine , but at the top of the chart i'm getting a kind of error mesg "Template:Chart/celltTemplate:Chart/celltTemplate:Chart/cellbTemplate:Chart/cellbTemplate:Chart/celltTemplate:Chart/cellbTemplate:Chart/celltTemplate:Chart/celltTemplate:Chart/cellbTemplate:Chart/cellb".
'Pls help me..'

Raj6644 (talk) 04:22, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Wow, well done for working hard on that article. I have never used charts before so I'm probably not that much of a help. However, you can ask at the Wikipedia Help Desk, they should be happy to help you there. Please let me know of the outcome though, I would be interested to know. Sorry about that, but please ask there instead. Chevymontecarlo 12:02, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your Assistance Mr.Chevy!!!. Sure, I'll let u know wen i'm done with chart.
Raj6644 (talk) 04:45, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Hi Chevy,
I solved the problem with chart, check out My Page / Chart. I tried myself & get it debugged. Raj6644 (talk) 09:08, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Great, well done. I am sorry I couldn't help you myself :( Chevymontecarlo 11:25, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Chevy!!!, though u have not debugged the chart error, your assistance has helped to do so. Atleast you have great heart to extend your hands to help others. I have talked about you in many places. Salute to You!!! Raj6644 (talk) 10:21, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Glad I could help :) Chevymontecarlo 15:20, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Bit more help

Hi Chevymontecarlo,

Sorry for more hassle with this article, I tried to work out how to publish it today which as I am a new user is a minefield of mostly incomprehensible documentation, however I asked for some help on the online chat and got this response ...

<+SpitfireWP> creativetechnolo, alright, excellent. Well, you're clearly familiar with the basics of referencing, as you have two inline citations in the article. However, really, it'd be nice if there could be more of these. And if the sources used in the refs could be third-party and reliable. [11:43] <+SpitfireWP> Also, it would be great if the "Zoggs History" section be written in continuous prose. [11:43] <+SpitfireWP> There's also some problems with the promotional tone of the article, for instance "2009: SwimShapes™ regroups all feature suits for women who want to look and feel good at the pool and we launch the first Booty Suit®" seems to be trying to promote the product. [11:44] <+SpitfireWP> We need the article to be as "neutral" as possible, please. :)

My main issue is writing in continuous prose! The other is the sources and refs being third party and referenceable? This company has alomost no online presence except their new site and e-tailers that sell their products so I'm worried that this will result in the article being deleted for no good reason.

Any and all help would be hugely appreciated, and thanks again for your help so far. I will be very proud when this article is published, my first step into the Wiki Encylopedia, having read the Encylopedia Britannica as a child, feels like a big moment!

--Creativetechnologist (talk) 17:06, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Right, well the references don't just have to be online. There may be books/magazines that are out there that you can use. I think making the article more neutral is the easiest thing to do - just make it sound less like an advertisement for Zoggs products. I think what Spitfire means by 'continuous prose' is that at the moment the section is written as a timeline when it should be really just one paragraph or two (i.e. continuous). I hope you understand! Chevymontecarlo 05:32, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Could you please review?

Hi! Thank you for your help earlier with this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Database_Marketing_Agency I have added a number of verifiable resources and tried to improve this article. Could you please review and let me know if I have established notability and if not, what is lacking? Thanks in advance! Db0527 (talk) 23:43, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Nice, well done with the references there. I think the article's notability is fine now, although if you could find a few more external links it would finish it off. Well done though. Chevymontecarlo 08:50, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Okay. thanks! Db0527 (talk) 15:26, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Please Help Me

Hi, I just created an article called, From the Inside Out (album) and I am requesting for feedback. But I am also requesting for help because, I want to change the articles name to "From the Inside Out" but I can't because it says it already exits, but it doesn't, it's just linked to the main article, Stan Walker. Is there any way you could do this? That'll be great. Thanks! ozurbanmusic (talk)

Again, I think it's to do with a redirect. I'm not sure how to sort that out so you might want to ask elsewhere; maybe at the Wikipedia help desk or on your own talk page - just type {{helpme}} followed by your query/question and users who will be happy to help will be alerted. I'm sorry I can't help you out there, but I can review the article for you. Again, I think the article is brilliant. You do an excellent job with the references, links and infoboxes. Well done. I think the only issue is like you said, just the name of it. Chevymontecarlo 08:55, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Its ok, the name is already changed to what I wanted it to be. Thanks anyways. ozurbanmusic (talk)

Alright :) Chevymontecarlo 11:26, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Do you use it? I'm thinking of enabling either it or Friendly. Pianotech (talk) 14:24, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Do you mean an IRC client? If so, I use a Mac so I have Colloquy. I apologise if that's not what you're talking about but it isn't very clear :D Chevymontecarlo 15:31, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah! Sorry I wasn't clearer. I meant the Twinkle utility here on Wikipedia for easier tagging/notices, etc. Similar to Friendly. Sorry about the mixup! Pianotech (talk) 21:39, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
No, not yet anyway. Most of the editing I do is still manual, sadly :( However, I prefer doing this as I don't want to make stuff too complicated. Chevymontecarlo 15:16, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanking U & Request for Help !!!

Raj6644 (talk) 08:49, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, you can make another request at WP:FEED, or ask at the Wikipedia help desk. They're probably the two best places to go. Chevymontecarlo 15:18, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Chevy!!!. I have put a request at WP:FEED. If you have any comments or any suggestions for My article to make it achieve GA Status, Pls Provide it. Thank you once again. Raj6644 (talk) 11:15, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, nice job on John Rinne - exactly what was needed; bit of a tidy-up. Pretty much what I'd have done myself - I simply asked others via feed 'coz I was doing so many other things. So...excellent, many thanks.  Chzz  ►  13:37, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Your feedback about my first article Hamburg Concerto

Thanks for your feedback. I can use some encouragement, since I have never been and probably will never be "very bold" as the guidelines suggest (despite being a moderate Star Trek fan I hesitate to boldly go where no man has gone before). However, I did not add an infobox since the Style Guidelines of the WikiProject Classical music advise against using them for now. I am now going to have a go at trying to get this page moved from mysandbox to the mainspace, so other contributors can expand and improve it (or delete it if they believe it's useless:). Thanks again. Francesco Malipiero (talk) 17:12, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Ah, thanks for letting me know about that. I had no idea such guidelines were in place. I know a lot of the rules about Wikipedia, but not all of them :) Moving the article into the mainspace is the best way to try and get others to help improve it - try and get it listed in some categories if you can. You can begin searching for appropriate categories here, but it is likely another user will do this for you once you move it. Chevymontecarlo 11:31, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Dan Ivankovich article

Dear Chevymontecarlo:

Your feedback was very very helpful - thank you so much!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Doinggooddaily/Dan_Ivankovich

Do you think it's ready to submit for publication?

Also, once it is ready to "go live", what steps do I need to take to make that happen?

71.143.238.177 (talk) 23:51, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Doinggooddaily, 07/13/2010

Well, to make the article 'live' you need to move it out of your userspace, as at the moment the article is in a subpage located in your userpages. To move an article, first choose a relevant name that you want, such as Daniel Ivankovich. Then just cut and paste the whole article in your user space to the area over at Daniel Ivankovich, and your article is now live. I hope you understand this, but if you don't I can do it for you. Just let me know on here :)
As to the article, I think it's fine. I see you have made some excellent improvements and I think it is just about ready. If you are going to add to/change the article, I would say be careful with the language style and tone that you use, as articles are not supposed to sound like an advertisement. Chevymontecarlo 11:34, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to try and figure it out myself, but I do appreciate your kind offer to help me. You are so NICE!!! I'm thrilled I "found' you. I'm going to make some more tweaks, make sure the language is suitably dispassionate, then I'll attempt the move. Once again - thank you so very much. I'm sure I'll have more questions ;>]

Well, to be honest I'm not sure myself :D You might want to ask elsewhere, such as at WP:HD. Sorry that I can't help you, but I can help with most other things to do with Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback/2010_July_12#Telemet_America.2C_Inc.

Chevy, you posted at the page above. Thought I'd let you know I found the article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telemet_America,_Inc. The links are almost identical but the original provided link was == http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telemet_America,_Inc. == which somehow ended up with a misplaced/missing period (at the end of "Inc"). In the header above I have replaced the previous/invalid URL with a valid WIki-link . The article is unreviewed at this time, has some reference/source issues and doesn't appear to have gone through the AfC. Shearonink (talk) 15:38, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Oops, sorry about that. I will review the other article. Chevymontecarlo 11:32, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand. So where is the article now? The link in the section header above seems to be broken. Chevymontecarlo 11:33, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Oops on my part as well. After I posted here I subsequently nominated the article for speedy deletion (copyright violations) and it was deleted. I probably should have updated your talkpage on the matter. Thanks anyway Shearonink (talk) 11:42, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

However now I seem to have notability issues.

I am new to this and learning on the fly.

Can you have a look and let me know where I have gone wrong?

DirectHit

From your kind offer recently...could you perhaps have a go at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/DirectHit (which, by the time you read this, might be DirectHit)? It was poorly formatted; I've done enough to make it live, but it needs wikilinks and things. I think it could be nominated as a Did You Know too - if you want to do that, or, ask me how, etc. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  13:13, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Okay, well I've made a few improvements, but there's still a long way to go. I'll try and work some more tommorrow maybe - I'm a bit busy with other things at the moment. Chevymontecarlo 17:10, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Looks better - except when a user tried to re-submit an AFC over the top of it, but that was restored. This edit added several links to articles that do not exist, and added a reference to a website that does not exist, http://www.http.com//cccdiag.com/news - I think they might have meant http://cccdiag.com/news but that specific link does not verify the facts in the paragraph, so I don't know; FD also added some odd wikilinks, for example in this edit, they linked drug, breast and surgery, all of which are very common terms (WP:OVERLINK).
Unfortunately, I didn't check back on this one until today, so it is too late for a DYK :-(
Anyway - many thanks for improving it; it is definitely much better.
Also - please see reply in User talk:Chzz#Thanks. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  20:34, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Your View / Review Please

Hi Chevy,
Pls have a look at my article on Indian Power sector Regulator, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission which is similar to USA's Federal Energy Regulatory Commission & Ireland's Utility Regulator. Pls review the article & provide your valuable feedback. Thanks in advance !!! --Raj6644 (talk) 10:58, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Wow, plenty of information there as well as an infobox and links, which is great. It's good that you've got some decent references as well but I do think some parts of the article could be made a little shorter or be removed completely, such as the Objectives and Functions sections. I think these two sections should be perhaps merged or something similar. Chevymontecarlo 10:17, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Hi Chevy! I worked on the article keeping your & Raptor's Comments. I have edited a lot especially carefully i have merged the Objectives & Obligations section. Added many reliable references for more clarity. Worked on WP:MOS as well. I have a doubt. Who will review my article & who will rate my article. After posting it still it has not received any Class. Pls assist me in this regard. Raj6644 (talk) 12:27, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, I think that's something you need to take to the specific Wikiproject concerned - try sending a message to one of the Wikiproject members regarding the rating, as I'm not a member of that Wikiproject I can't really rate it myself. Chevymontecarlo 08:17, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Second - How do I transfer this file (from my user area)to the main Wikipedia area? Thanks for your help —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pirtak (talkcontribs) 04:46, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Moving your article
Okay, so to move your article to the main space (as it's called) you can just cut and paste the whole article into someplace where there is a free space, like FutureSkills High School. To do this you can just click 'edit this page' on the article and then cut and paste all of the content in the edit window and paste it into the space at FutureSkills High School (or something similar)
Review
I've made a few small improvements to the article but I think it's about ready to be moved into the main space. There's no categories in the article but they are likely to just be added by somebody else once you move it into the main space. Be careful about the tone and language style you use though - it sounds like an advertisement in places and there is a definite lack of references in some places in the article, so maybe think about that.
If you are unsure, please ask me. Hope this is helpful. Chevymontecarlo 06:04, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Follow-up on "Harris Levey" Draft article, by "Jonathan Levey"

Your input has been very helpful ChevyMonteCarlo. Please have a look at my recently revised draft of my Harris Levy article and let me know if you have any addiitonal tips or advise. Jonathan Levey 16:35, 28 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathanlevey (talkcontribs)

I think it's pretty much OK to be moved now; I can't see any immediate problems with the article. Chevymontecarlo 06:21, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Correspondence

Shearonink... I saw the #2 comment from ChevyMonteChristo, but I thought there might have been a #3 response. Guess not. Thanks for your efforts to try to help Shearonink. I am also please that you like the way my draft article on Harris levey (aka "Lee Harris") is turning out. I've great input from Wiki's editors: PianoTech, especially, and also Old English and ChevyMonteCarlo. I hope to post it live on Wikipedia, soon. Jonathan Levey 13:33, 28 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathanlevey (talkcontribs)

Dear ChevyMonteCarlo, I believe you responded to my yesterday's message to you (sent July 27th), but I cannot seem to find it on your Talk page. Please advise. Jonathan Levey 11:40, 28 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathanlevey (talkcontribs)

Sorry to respond here, Chevy, hope it's ok...
Jonathanlevey, are you referring to the message that Chevymontecarlo left at #2 at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback/2010_July_26 ?
Also, new posts on a fellow editor's Talkpage are usually placed within the numbered queue-area either at the top or at the bottom according to that particular editor's preferences. (And I read some of the Lee Harris/Harris Levey article you wrote...*very* cool.)
Shearonink (talk) 12:41, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
It's fine to chat on over here, just as long as it's in a separate section from all the others, otherwise the whole page gets messy from all the different comments/questions, etc. Chevymontecarlo 06:22, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Great. Just to let you know that my article on Harris Levey has been successfully moved to Mainspace with the blessing of several Wiki editors. I still have a lot more work to do to make it stronger (ie. more verifications), but at least it is up for others to contribute constructively to as well. Thanks again for yo timely input ChevyMonteCarlo. Very helpful. Jonathan Levey 23:08, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Excellent. Thanks. Chevymontecarlo 07:16, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Mr. Jonny Fair Article/Page

Hello Chevymontecarlo, did you get my email? Still wondering if all the edits & article on Jonny Fair are up to snuff. If & when you get a chance, could you please let me know? Thanks for all your diligent work, you're the best! PhillipgreyIII (talk) 14:58, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I got the email. I've been away from the computer for a while, so I'm sorry I haven't responded. Chevymontecarlo 07:17, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
I made a slight correction to your article and posted something on your talk page. Hope it's helpful. Chevymontecarlo 07:24, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

For the work you do at Feedback. I'd give you a barnstar, but I already did. I've been pre-occupied with other things, so haven't been as active there as I'd like; good to see that you are still helping out.--SPhilbrickT 15:15, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I figured I'd do my best, and also I like doing it anyway. It does get a bit repetitive sometimes though. Chevymontecarlo 17:14, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your feedback on Roger Enoka

Hello, thank you for reviewing my article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Redbnr22/Roger_Enoka

Here is your feedback

Excellent article, especially now with the improvements. As with nearly all articles, try and add more reliable references if you can. Chevymontecarlo 08:23, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Do I understand correctly that my article is not "ready" for wikipedia until I can add more reliable references?

I'm just not sure who decides and when my work is ready to go live as a wikipedia article - this is my first time.

Let me know if you get a chance and thank you for your time!

- Redbnr22 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Redbnr22 (talkcontribs) 16:33, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, references are very important to an article, as they help to prove that what is being said is actually true. I said that because it was lacking in references compared to how large the article was. You don't have to act on my or any other person's advice at WP:FEED, but it can help stop your article getting tagged for deletion once you move it. You don't have to add more reliable references, but it'd be great if you could. Chevymontecarlo 17:17, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

GOCE Backlog Elimination Drive Wrap-up

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. Thanks to all who participated in the drive! Over 100 editors—including Jimbo Wales—signed up this time (nearly triple the participants of the May drive). This benefited the Guild as well as the articles in need of copy editing. You can see from the comparison graphs that we increased the number of completed copyedits substantially. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet our goal of completely wiping out 2008 from the queue. We also were not able to reduce the backlog to less than 6,000 articles. We suspect people were busy with real life summertime things, at least in the northern hemisphere! We were able to remove the months of January, February, March, April, and May from the backlog, and we almost wiped out the month of June. We reduced the backlog by 1,289 articles (17%), so all in all it was a very successful drive, and we will be holding another event soon. We'll come up with some new ideas to try to keep things fresh and interesting. Keep up the good work, everybody!

Stats
If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you edited in the May 2010 GOCE Backlog Elimination Drive, your word totals are cumulative for barnstars (not the leaderboard). Over the course of the next week or two, we will be handing out the barnstars.

GOCE backlog elimination drive chart up to 31 July

User:Ehokaz/Frank_Dolphin Feedback

Hi,

I've found this yearbook entry, which contains a lot of useful information about Dr. Dolphin. It is taken from an annual in Frank's home town. Would it be considered noteworthy enough to reference?

Ehokaz (talk) 00:32, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes, that website seems good by the looks of it. I would definitely include it. Chevymontecarlo 06:35, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
You can get more of an idea of what kind of sites are good references at WP:CITE. Thanks. Chevymontecarlo 06:36, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Zoggs

Hi,

Hope all is well with you. Remember you very kindly put the Zoggs logo up for me, well it seems to have disappeared?, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoggs which I have just published.

Any help would be very appreciated.

--Creativetechnologist (talk) 08:21, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, there are various rules regarding what kinds of logos, photos and icons can go on Wikipedia, and I'm not really an expert. I just don't want to give you the wrong advice, and then you get lead in the wrong direction. I recommend that you ask on the IRC help channel, which is here. There are admin users as well as people like me there who will be happy to help, and I know there are a few users in there who know a thing or two about images. So, sorry I cannot help you; I normally just do article edits and things like that rather than bothering with images and other media like that. Sorry, but the IRC live help channel is really good though. Chevymontecarlo 08:42, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Mr. Jonny Fair Page Completion

Well it looks like it's all finished & ready to go Chevymontecarlo! Thank you for all the corrections, I couldn't have done it without your help. You are a true master at what you do my friend! How do we go about publishing it? Thank you! PhillipgreyIII (talk) 09:55, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, to publish it you just need to move it to somewhere like Jonny Fair. I will do it for you, and then alert you on your talk page, if that's okay. Thanks. Chevymontecarlo 10:05, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
I have moved the page for you now :) It's at the link above. Chevymontecarlo 10:07, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

It's blooming lovely! You are a prince of a fellow you are Chevymontecarlo, a real prince of a fellow. And I just can't thank you enough my friend! PhillipgreyIII (talk) 10:20, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Excellent XD Chevymontecarlo 13:34, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Chevymontecarlo, now that the Jonny Fair Wikipedia page is published & on the web thanks to you, how do I go about cleaning it up/taking away all of the page options on the top & making it look like a normal article? Thank you! PhillipgreyIII (talk) 09:43, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Breeze Zuckerman --- I need help with this...I am so confused...

I do not know how to ask questions here using your template. I am trying to keep the article on Breeze Zuckerman from being deleted permanently. I think it was deleted in the interim. Breeze Zuckerman is notable and is going to be very famous as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) airs on television each week. Breeze is a personal friend who gave me permission to write this on her. She won a coveted trophy, "Last Woman Standing" 2010. She cashed in the Main Event.

Thank you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 08:42, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Okay, you are supposed to use the {{helpme}} template on your own talk page to alert other users that you need help with something on Wikipedia. I removed it because you didn't say what you needed help with. What you need to do is type {{helpme}} on your talk page followed by your question and someone will come along and answer soon enough. Hope this helps. Chevymontecarlo 08:58, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Breeze Zuckerman --- I need help with this...

Hi, Where do I type questions? Where do I type the {{helpme}} Thank you Allyplayspoker (talk) 08:52, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey, you can ask questions in our IRC help chat, which is here. Thanks. Chevymontecarlo 08:56, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
The help chat is good because you get to talk live with other Wikipedia users who will be happy to help you. I recommend you go check it out if you need help with anything. Chevymontecarlo 09:01, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Just Marketing International

Chevymontecarlo,

Thank you so much for your help, I am sorry you felt I was being impatient - that was wasn't my intention and I do really appreciate your sage advice.

I am having a problem with this logo and I am not sure why:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:JMI_company_logo_2010.JPG

This is my logo and I tried to show this with (

) but apparently this is not acceptable?

It has marked as a candidate for speedy deletion, would you mind telling me what i have to do to rectify this?

Many thanks

I'm really sorry, but I don't know much about images. You're better off asking at the Help Desk instead, because I don't want to point you in the wrong direction. It's okay with the whole impatient thing - a lot of people don't realise a massive backlog develops really quickly. So, sorry, but I would say either ask at the help desk or place a {{helpme}} tag on your talk page, followed by your question. Chevymontecarlo 09:43, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Breeze Zuckerman --- I need help - Please

Please tell me what else I need to do to get the article on Breeze Zuckerman reinstated or added back into Wikipedia. I did links, added sources, she is notable and getting mor famous each day. Tahnk you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 09:34, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Keep adding the reliable references to the article to help make the article's subject more notable is probably the only thing I can suggest. Sorry :( Chevymontecarlo 09:46, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Your Comments Pls - State Highway 134 (TamilNadu)

Hi Chevy!
I have just created a article for the State Highway SH-134 located in Tamilnadu, India. Pls review the article & provide your comments / feedback for improving the article. Thank you !!! ----Raj 6644(தமிழன்) 10:41, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Chevy! I have a long list in my desk for Articles to be created. You can see many such articles in coming & everytime i'll be landing in your talk page for comments. I like associating with you for every new project. Have a great day Chevy !!! ----Raj 6644(தமிழன்) 12:53, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Glad I could be of help! Chevymontecarlo 13:14, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Breeze Zuckerman --- Article was Redirected

{{helpme}} How do I get the article on Breeze Zuckerman added back? It was redirected. Allyplayspoker (talk) 10:04, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind, but I've untranscluded the helpme template here so that helpers know only to go to your talk page. sonia 10:51, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
What do you mean? I'm not sure :( Chevymontecarlo 12:25, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Um, Allyplayspoker had added {{helpme}} above. That template alerts everyone in the help channel that you need help, since it's on your talk page. Since the template is also on their talk page, there was no need for two helpers to come and solve the same problem, so I un-templated the template here. sonia 23:45, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh, thanks! It was a bit confusing. Chevymontecarlo 05:22, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Jonny Fair cleanup

Oops, yeah sorry. I forgot to remove the unreviewed tag at the top, as I've already provided some feedback/tips on it I've done it for you. Chevymontecarlo 18:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Approving an Article at AfC

Hey there.. I was in the IRC help room just now and an editor asked if this article had been sufficiently improved to merit creation. It looks solid to me (esp. when compared to the date it was put on hold), but I've never taken an article out of the AfC process before, so I thought I'd ask you before taking any action. Cheers! Scartol • Tok 12:28, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I thought the article was nicely improved as well so I accepted it. You need to install a little script thing in order to process requests, which I assume you don't have, so maybe that's why you struggled. Thanks for reminding me about that; I hadn't added it to my watchlist. Chevymontecarlo 19:57, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I didn't so much struggle as avoid wading into waters I've never been into before, and didn't feel like learning about today. Glad it got resolved. Cheers! Scartol • Tok 22:59, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Crypto++ Article

Hi Chevymontecarlo,

Thanks for the suggestion. I spent some time this afternoon at scholar.google.com. I was able to locate about 70 separate citiations. Five were added to the article for completeness. I think its shaping up nicely.

Thanks again for the help.

Categorising mistakes

Over at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback you occasionally use the text:

"Please try and add categories to the article. This enables the article to be listed with similar articles, increasing the amount of viewers to the article. You can start your search for appropriate categories here, if you would like to do so."

Can you make sure you put the ":" before Category:Categories otherwise it categorises the talk page in that category. Cheers. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 07:38, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Oops, sorry. I wasn't aware that I was making these mistakes. Thanks for letting me know. Chevymontecarlo 10:23, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi Chevy, I'm back after a small break. Till now (for the past 3 weeks), i was working on National Waterway 4 (NW-4). I have just posted a Draft article on WP. I request your Comments / Feedback to improve as well as to make the article live on WP. With the Response i'll focus on 5 Other National Waterways in India. ----Raj 6644(தமிழன்) 07:55, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Glad to see you're continuing to work on Wikipedia; well done. I have made a few improvements to the article, although it was just a minor grammar correction to the opening sentence. I think you need to continue to work on the grammar and spelling in the article, as I can see a few sentence which haven't been written too well. Other than that, and try to continue to add reliable references and perhaps suitable categories, I don't think there's much else you need to do. Writing requested articles is usually a better idea that writing one that hasn't been requested, as it's less likely to get deleted because it could be useful, so well done for doing that. Chevymontecarlo 09:38, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Chevy! Right now i'm focusing on / Writing / Improving articles on which i have good practical knowledge. Thats is the reason why i'm not touching Requested Article Topic. Thanks for all ur suggestions. Have a Nice Day ! ----Raj 6644(தமிழன்) 09:50, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

To Chevvy from Chzz

Hiya,

So - the archiving is working, that's cool; anything over 14 days old; change that if you want in the line |algo = old(14d).

Now - when I came here to check on that, I saw the below, and I've taken the liberty of replying to it; I also placed talkbacks on the talk page of the IP and the user account; I'm confident you won't mind my trying to step in, while you are away, and hopefully the message following this will make sense;

Hope you had a nice weekend, and speak to you soon. Best,  Chzz  ►  23:40, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I don't mind at all if anyone steps in to help on here! My weekend was amazing - the night flight with all the balloons was brilliant. Chevymontecarlo 16:46, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Asbury First

Hello Chevymontecarlo. This is going to be a little confusing just to warn you. See, I am an intern under the person who is "in charge" of making the page, namely, I wrote all the text and did the uploading and stuff. This is all fine and well, except my internship is now over, and she doesn't necessarily understand how to upload/request a move for things on Wikipedia. That being said, I have told her that the page requires more sources, and informed her of some other problems from our peer review session. She said she intends to continue building on what I have created, but she also really wanted me to see if I could figure out how to get it up and going before she took over. I understand if you must deny, because truthfully 1-3 sources is not enough. Also, she has all the sources on file, whereas I do not...so if you deny I will try and show her how to do it. Anyway, thanks for otherwise approving it. Sorry that I knew it wasn't finished but submitted it anyway, I really didn't want to waste anyone's time.

74.34.177.122 (talk) 14:11, 14 August 2010 (UTC) Aug. 14, 2010

Hi there.
Chevvy is away for a few days, but I think I understand your issues;
Please read through the following carefully; I'm sorry it is a bit complicated, but it is certainly important.
From a bit of detective work, I think you must be the person who logged in as AsburyFirst (talk · contribs).
This is a problem, because that account name is against our policies - accounts need to represent a person, not a group, and the name should not contain (part of) the name of some organization that you are connected with.
You need to sort that out before doing anything else; there are two options;
  • Apply to rename the account (with this link), to some appropriate name, - and from then on, remember that it is your personal account, you are responsible for the edits made, whether to this article or any other. I recommend this, because it saves all the potential confusion, with e.g you writing on this page anonymously. This is the option that I, personally recommend in this specific case.
  • Abandon the account - change the password to something very long, and never use it again. Then create a new account for yourself. Note, we can't delete accounts - we have to keep the history of who contributed.
Please do one of the above, before anything else}. The account should be used only by you - an individual. For more info, see WP:USERNAME.
Similarly, this 'person in charge' should make their own Wikipedia account, for their own use only. If she could do that, and then 'make contact' by leaving a note on this page, we can try to help her.
Now...regarding Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Asbury First United Methodist Church.
We cannot accept it in the current state; it is 'on hold', and the status may change to 'declined' after 24 hours, but this does not matter; anyone can work to improve the draft article at any time, and can resubmit it. If this 'person in charge' needs help with that, plenty is available - the only caveat being, we'd ask her to kindly read about conflict of interest, and to follow best practices.
There is plenty of help available to you, at any time, but please - respect the policies and guidelines; request a name change, and get the other person to sign up for their very own account, and let us know the name. We can provide help and guidance to them from there.
Thank you in anticipation of your consideration.  Chzz  ►  23:34, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Okay thank you very much. I will try to get this all taken care of.

74.34.177.122 (talk) 01:55, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Chevy, at this point, I'm going to stop checking back on this one and assume it is "done" as far as my input is concerned; of course, give me a shout if you need to. Best,  Chzz  ►  06:59, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Right, that's fine. They have replied on here so I assume they understand/have noticed you've replied. Thanks. Chevymontecarlo 07:36, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Actually - the account was renamed from AsburyFirst (talk · contribs) to MVKAF (talk · contribs) - so all looks fine to me. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  07:52, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello, i had asked 1 day ago for someone to go over my article and you suggested i expanded and cited properly. I have expanded the article but i don't know how to cite properly. If you could help me, that would be very nice of you. Thanks!

Okay, well citations are a way of displaying your references; but as you don't seem to have any at the moment I can't really help you, but I'll do an example:
This is the statement that you are going to verify with a reference <ref>[http://www.exampleaddress.com|The reference name goes here!]</ref>.

The actual 'citation' part is the <ref></ref> tags, and the reference is the web address. I hope you understand this, but if you don't I will gladly help you with the citations once you find some suitable references. Thanks, Chevymontecarlo 17:35, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

thanks!

Thanks so much for the suggestions to the Chromat page I started! Your comments were very useful. Southburlington (talk) 18:54, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Awesome; glad it was useful. Chevymontecarlo 06:08, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

thanx for the help

Chev,

I appreciated your input on my page. I was able to put in more info on the links, as well as add wikipedia links throughout the article. I am not able to put in an infobox with pics yet, as I am still waiting for permission to do that.

If you'd like to look the results, here's the link to my page again. Any other suggestion are welcome, of course, too.

Thanks Chevy

Hi there chevy... Just wanted to say thanks on your suggestions on my article.... Really appreciate your revisions... —Preceding unsigned comment added by AKasmy (talkcontribs) 21:49, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Excellent. Glad it was put to use! Chevymontecarlo 06:11, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your recommendation.

Now to learn how to make an info box! haha. Thank you very much for taking the time to give me feedback.

(Suzy Huber (talk) 21:25, 24 August 2010 (UTC))

You can use a template, like Template:Infobox company or Template:Infobox person, if you wish. It's often easier than trying to do it yourself. Chevymontecarlo 06:10, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! I think that it is a great suggestion, I will add one before I submit my final for review :)

(Suzy Huber (talk) 22:07, 25 August 2010 (UTC))

thanks!

Thanks for the feedback about Portledge Manor. I added the info box, but there really aren't very many references on the subject. Also, there's only one decent picture (the one in the link at the bottom of the page), and I had problems uploading it. Is there any way to put a photo on wikipedia without uploading it to wikimedia commons?

Hmmm...I don't think so, but I don't know a great deal about pictures on Wikipedia, so you might want to ask elsewhere. You can ask at the Help desk, on your talk page (you can type {{helpme}} followed by your question and someone should come to help soon) or at our live help chat, where I often participate in). Again, sorry I cannot help with that, but I can do most other stuff ;-)
As to the article, I was thinking perhaps an official site of some sorts would be a good thing to use as a reference, but if there isn't one I can imagine it makes things difficult. Well done for trying though! Chevymontecarlo 12:26, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

TPS - I had a fiddle w/ the article; see User_talk:Ijcoffin#Portledge Manor.  Chzz  ►  04:30, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Chzz! Really appreciate it. Chevymontecarlo 04:36, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Promise (personality development for kids)

Hi. Thanks for making the time to review my article. I really appreciate it. A quick question I had: in my infobox where I've put my web page only that [1] is displaying. How do I display the entire name properly? Also, for infoboxes do we need to go by a template or can we add other info as well? If you can make any other suggestions of changes to be made, it would be greatly appreciated as well! Thanks. Looking4solutions (talk) 04:04, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

I've sorted that link out for you. As to the template, you can add more, but I don't know whether it'll work okay. Chevymontecarlo 04:34, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Looking4solutions;

  • You had put the URL inside [ and ]. I changed it, here. Chevy has since changed it to link on text. Examples;
If you put a 'bare' URL, http://www.google/com, it appears as; http://www.google/com
If you put it within square brackets, [http://www.google/com], it appears as; [1] (auto numbered)
If you put it within square brackets and with some text, [http://www.google/com This is Google], it appears as; This is Google (linked on the text)
See Help:Wiki markup#External links.

Other suggestions;

  • Read about neutral point of view, and remove/reword; stick to facts that can be verified. Example problems;
  • taking care of a lot of the issues - how many? (this is vague, not verifiable
  • it has been in operations for several years[quantify] now, it has just recently[when?]
  • he sacrificed his career - opinion, not fact. Promotional.
  • Remove 'Method' - it isn't Encyclopaedic info; see WP:NOT. It's also quite promotional.

It needs to be much more neutral to be acceptable, otherwise it might be deleted as an advert. See the business FAQ.  Chzz  ►  04:47, 29 August 2010 (UTC)    (TPS)

Thanks a lot for this feedback. It gives a great starting point to begin making modifications. Looking4solutions (talk) 05:23, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for article feedback / new request

Yannbd (talk) 14:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC) Thank you for your feedback on my article on the Boston University Center for Philosophy and History of Science. I would like to add this center to the Boston University category (the table I already inserted at the end of this article). How could this be done?

I've just done this for you :-) Chevymontecarlo 19:31, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! But actually I meant the red banner with all other BU schools, facilities, etc. This Center should appear in the "Research" category of this banner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yannbd (talkcontribs) 22:19, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, to do that you'll need to change the table template - you might want to ask another user about that :-( Chevymontecarlo 05:36, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi Chevymontecarlo, thanks for taking the time to make suggestions regarding my user page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Darkmuse/Dark_muse I've added/started a simple 'info' box as per your suggestion. I will look into the other areas of suggestion you mentioned as time permits. Thanks again. Darkmuse (talk) 11:00, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Chevy, Many thanks for your feedback. Your suggestion to add an infobox and to break the chapters into smaller parts are very helpful. I will appreciate further comments. Thank you for your help on my article on the Italian artist Rosalba Pedrina. The only other references I can find are in Italian newspaper articles but these are already reproduced in the book that is cited. So I think I've done what I can and and go live with this. I tried to construct the box information but didn't succeed in that. But I think that can be added later. Can you help me put this live? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Intlawprof (talkcontribs) 17:24, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Done - it's at Rosalba Pedrina. Chevymontecarlo 17:57, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Help w/ an article

Hi Chevymontecarlo. You had previously edited an article on my ownspace earlier and I was wondering if you could check my new draft and see if there are any edits I should make or if its ready to go up on the mainspace. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Junjoon/Xeltek_inc. Thanks a lot Junjoon (talk) 18:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

I've made a few minor corrections, but you need to use inline citations to display your references correctly, as it just helps the reader to find what references are for which statements, and it's just a neater and more organised setup overall. I hope you will be able to do this, but if you are having any trouble please come back here and let me know :-) Chevymontecarlo 20:09, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello again Chevymontecarlo. I edited this article w/ the inline citations as you said. Could I possibly get it reviewed again? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Junjoon/Xeltek_inc. thanks so much Junjoon (talk) 23:36, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Nice, although I do think you need to try and add some names to the references, like this:
<ref>[http://www.apple.com/article|Reference name goes here!]</ref>

Chevymontecarlo 06:10, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi Chevymontecarlo. I made the edits based on your comments (thanks for the help) and I was wondering if its ready to move to the mainspace. Do you have the authority to do this? Thanks again Junjoon (talk) 16:21, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes, every user can move articles I think. It seems someone else has moved it already - it's at Xeltek Inc. - did you do it? Chevymontecarlo 17:09, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reviewing the article I wrote. I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks again!! Thischiefmeans (talk) 18:12, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Best Art Vinyl

Hi I'm new to this so please bear with me, I've added in more sources to my article to make it more notable. I also put in links to where it has been previously mentioned on Wikipedia already. Let me know what else I can do to make the article better! Thanks so much for your help

86.158.224.243 (talk) 11:32, 3 September 2010 (UTC)3rd September 12:32pm

Awesome! The references are good, but you need inline citations to display them correctly. I'll also say this on the article as well. Chevymontecarlo 14:20, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Apologies

my apologies for not understanding how to communicate very well here. I appreciate your notes on what i can do to improve my page, and i also noticed you made some improvements. i am super confused on how to do everything, but as you asked, you're welcome to make changes if you'd be so kind, or give me any direction you can.

Warm Regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by Highoctane1 (talkcontribs) 16:37, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I posted some helpful tips on your talk page. I hope it's useful. Chevymontecarlo 17:31, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Am8er article

Hi, I might need your help with the article, Am8er. It seems a user has nominated it for deletion, without giving me a simple explanation of why! Theres a million of musician articles out there that don't have as much information as this article does and it's up for deletion! Can you please help me save it before it's deleted. Thanks! ozurbanmusic (talk) 11:31, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

OK, according to the tag at the top of the page someone's tagged it because it's considered to be an article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Basically, this means you need to try and add more references and sources to prove that the article's subject is of enough importance to have a Wikipedia article about it. At the moment, much of the article's references are YouTube videos, things on Facebook and blogs, none of which are really good references to have. See WP:Reliable references for more information, but that is the source of the problem. Chevymontecarlo 13:39, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thank you, I'll try and find some proper references. ozurbanmusic (talk) 20:51, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey i found proper references. Can you check if its good? You an administrator right? You can remove the template if it passes. ozurbanmusic (talk) 23:29, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator, but you can voice your opinions in the discussion for the article here. You can't really remove the tag as it'll just get tagged again for deletion. Chevymontecarlo 06:19, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

William Arnold (settler) article

Hello, and thanks for your comments re the subject article. I put in an info box as you suggested and am currently working on external links. I was also able to get a couple of photos. It's coming along, and I appreciate your feedback. I didn't get right back to you because I had to re-figure out how to get in touch.Sarnold17 (talk) 00:39, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
