@Chadwick Berk: List of awards and nominations received by Jimmy Lifton wasn't deleted; it was redirected to Jimmy Lifton by Zackmann08 with the explanation Not worthy of own article. Well I wasn't done adding content to the page. I still have like 10 other nominations/wins to add and why is that not worthy of its own page to outline all the awards. I have unblocked this account in a kind of edit conflict (was just writing my unblock statement). It's rather obvious to me than an account creator would be hit by the autoblock, but unless a CheckUser explicitly links this account to those other sockpuppets, I see no reason to believe this account is related to the large number of other socks used by the same master. @Huon: I looked, thought I was wrong, looked again and cannot escape from the fact that Akanksharajul65 is a blocked member of a sockfarm, and is a declared creation of JJMC89. my ignorance may be showing, but I cannot see any way in which using WP:ACC could accidentally link into a sockfarm.--Anthony Bradbury^"talk" 20:12, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

Anthony Bradbury, I would assume that Akanksharaju165 having been created by JJMC89 (which the log given by JJMC89 above confirms) counts as "having used JJMC89's IP address". In that case, when they're blocked, JJMC89 gets hit by the autoblock. Note the "password was sent by email" part of the log: WP:ACC was asked to create that account, JJMC89 did so, but JJMC89 did not themselves have the password. Maybe Bbb23 could comment on whether the CheckUser evidence against the sock farm extends to evidence against JJMC89? I strongly doubt it, but I wouldn't be comfortable having an unblocked sockpuppet with the account creator user right... Huon (talk) 20:28, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

Request to log a bug

Hi JJMC89, I'm wondering if you're willing to log a bug under phab:T85847 about this bad scenario for content model changes. A page that has been set up to test this is test2wiki:Law3 (can't undo/revert/edit back to wikitext without using Special:ChangeContentModel as far as I know). @Pigsonthewing: I've gone ahead and made them subst'able. All parser functions and magic words plus many templates (if you don't want them called in the article) need SAFESUBST:<noinclude /> or they get dumped into the articles when the template is substituted. — JJMC89 21:20, 13 September 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: File:Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Logo.jpg

Hello JJMC89. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of File:Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Logo.jpg, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this isn't a redirect to itself: it has a hyphen and the target has an n-dash. @JohnCD: It is a broken redirect. File redirects to files on Commons do not work. [[File:Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Logo.jpg]] cannot add the target image to a page, and you do not get redirected to the target page. (Pause for experimentation) Yes, you're right; deleted. Sorry about that: I haven't met one of those before, and I supposed that since the bot created it, there must be a purpose. Evidently it is just creating hyphen redirects for any title with an en-dash in it, and it would be hard to program it to recognise titles which are Commons files. Personally, I would like to do away with en-dashes, in the interest of easy editing from keyboards, and have a bot automatically replace them all with with hyphens; but that's not a battle that could be won. @Edgars2007: I've started to rewrite part of that module because I originally just hacked together to make it work, requiring updates to the module when the templates have extra parameters or different parameter names. Is there a certain part of the code you are interested in? Depending on what you are looking for, it may be better to send the code after I revise it (hopefully this weekend) or point you to where I borrowed some of the code from. If you are looking for something to compare values to Wikidata, the module does not do that. I add {{WikidataCheck}} to the templates and create lists based on the tracking categories. — JJMC89 17:24, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Template count

From what I see in code, you remove all matching templates from EL section. It may cause some problems, if there are more than one template in ELs. I would say - skip if there is more than one. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 05:02, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
