Agenda[edit]

At the Feb 15 meeting the attendees discussed what could be improved to make the meetups more effective. The decision was more focus on tools and demonstrations of tools.

  • Introduction to meet up by organisers
  • Round table for participants to say what you’re working on and if you need help with anything - bring along your Wikipedia, Wikidata, or Wikimedia problems
  • Video conferencing agreement - this is our second meeting using jitsi. Do we want to try Big Blue Button next time or continue with jitsi? Test BBB link
  • Review of questions raised during round table
  • Siobhan (Ambrosia10) to discuss with the group an email from Merrilee Proffitt from the Wikimedia and Libraries User Group. They are proposing of a worldwide virtual #1Lib1Ref Wikipedia editing event with New Zealand starting the world off.
  • Siobhan (Ambrosia10) has a new resource for those interested in learning more about property proposals for Wikidata. See this link. The Wikipedia Weekly Youtube channel has several instructional videos. Another great example is a video showing a workflow using WikiShootMe tool and the website mapillary.com. Well worth a watch for those interested in maps/images/streets etc.
  • Demonstration of another tool - to be confirmed
  • Mike will share recent work on Massey University staff, including the upload of Jane Ussher photos to Category:Rangahau
  • Get on with problem solving, editing, and chatting
    • Discuss conventions for including people's iwi
    • Update on what the place names macron project group have learnt
    • New Zealand English status in NZ articles
    • Moving articles process (to rename them) - See this page for information on how to move a page.
