Hi, wasn't vandalizing.
The lines about the Maori contributed nothing and created distraction in the Jack-o-lantern article so I removed them. Please don't regard this as vandalism. 216.158.244.199 (talk) 16:41, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Regarding the Removal of Writer Credits "Origin (Evanescence album)"
The accredited writer information removed from the page "Origin (Evanescence album)" is due to the fact that I am a writer on the album. The attributed credits to the band members was wrong. I, Ephraim Ngoze, as well as MRM and Kineer are the authors of several of the songs on the album. While the band members of Evanescence perform the music and contribute to the manor in which the vocals and instrumentals are recorded, they had no part in the writing of the lyrics. I will be continuing a review of this band's pages to ensure Wikipedia is not incorrect or in violation of intellectual property rights. 2600:1700:FE20:1D10:D1C5:6429:205B:134C (talk) 13:28, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Ephraim Ngoze

Response re: "Indigenous peoples" edit
Hi Asartea, Sorry for not leaving a reason for the edit to "Indigenous peoples". The reason for the edit was that under "Further Reading", there 6 suggestions to read the same book (one for the book itself and 5 for each chapter of the book). Believing that to be excessive, I left the reference to the book in the list, but deleted the 5 chapters.
Book: de la Cadena, Marisol; Orin Starn, eds. (2007). Indigenous Experience Today. Oxford: Berg Publishers, Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research. ISBN 978-1-84520-519-5.
Five chapters from this book: 1) Baviskar, Amita (2007). "Indian Indigeneitites: Adivasi Engagements with Hindu NAtionalism in India". In Marisol de la Cadena & Orin Starn (ed.). Indigenous Experience today. Oxford, UK: Berg Publishers. ISBN 978-1-84520-519-5. 2) Clifford, James (2007). "Varieties of Indigenous Experience: Diasporas, Homelands, Sovereignties". In Marisol de la Cadena & Orin Starn (ed.). Indigenous Experience today. Oxford, UK: Berg Publishers. ISBN 978-1-84520-519-5. 3) Merlan, Francesca (2007). "Indigeneity as Relational Identity: The Construction of Australian Land Rights". In Marisol de la Cadena & Orin Starn (ed.). Indigenous Experience today. Oxford, UK: Berg Publishers. ISBN 978-1-84520-519-5. 4) Pratt, Mary Louise (2007). "Afterword: Indigeneity Today". In Marisol de la Cadena & Orin Starn (ed.). Indigenous Experience today. Oxford, UK: Berg Publishers. ISBN 978-1-84520-519-5. 5) Tsing, Anna (2007). "Indigenous Voice". In Marisol de la Cadena & Orin Starn (ed.). Indigenous Experience today. Oxford, UK: Berg Publishers. ISBN 978-1-84520-519-5. 2001:171B:C9B1:78C1:D52B:519C:790A:F0E (talk) 15:23, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
- In that case I understand the edit. Please make it again only this time with a clear edit summary (something like: "Removed duplicate suggestions in Further Reading as they were references to specific chapters in an already mentioned book") Asartea Talk | Contribs 15:33, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
Use of RW's Edit Summaries
Hello, and welcome to RedWarn, if you are new. I have found that many of your reverts of so called "vandalism" have had contained inaccurate edit summaries as to why the vandalism was reverted. Such edit reverts could have contained alternate summaries, such as "not providing a reliable source" or may be a custom reason. Please note that it is considered abuse of RedWarn to use the same quick rollback reason. In summary, it is important that you only use the correct edit summary each time you revert an edit, so that other editors know why you reverted the edit; merely stating it is "Vandalism" is not always sufficient. Thank you. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 14:28, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Contested reversion
Rhend003 (talk) 07:26, 11 October 2020 (UTC) Howdy - I recently made changes to the U.S. Cellular page that were reverted by you. These changes were not spam nor vandalism. Thanks! Russ H.
- @Rhend003: which edits? Your contributions show no edits related to U.S. Cellular. Also please create a new section for these questions Asartea Talk | Contribs 07:29, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Still a wiki [editing] newbie. Sorry about that.
The edits I made on the U.S. Cellular page were made by user RHenderson88. After I made the edit and then realized the page reverted, I clicked on my username in the upper right corner and it said "user doesn't exist," which surprised me, because I've made a few edits to a few local pages over the years (specifically the Broken Arrow Schools or High School page), so I then made a new username because I figured that's what I needed to do. Anyway - still me! Anyway, I work at UScellular and that page is horribly outdated.
- @Rhend003: please see WP:COI, you really shouldn't be editing that page. Instead propose changes on its talk page Asartea Talk | Contribs 07:42, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
October 2020
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Antichrist; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Elizium23 (talk) 07:52, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Updates to Wiki page - Kanbawza Group of Companies
Hi Asartea,
Writing in response to your message about my edits to this page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanbawza_Group_of_Companies
Sharing the description the edits as follows:
1) Opening para - updated description of the Kanbawza Group. It is not a holding company - https://www.kbzgroup.com.mm/
2) Second and third paras - Updated History section to include details about the types of businesses affiliated with KBZ Group. Included information about the new leadership of KBZ Bank.
3) Controversy section - Removed this as it is not factually accurate. In 2017, the KBZ Brighter Future Foundation donated MMK 3 billion to the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine (UEHARD), led by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. (Source: https://www.gnlm.com.mm/kbzs-brighter-future-myanmar-foundation-funds-k3-billion-development-projects-rakhine/) This section stated that the Foundation donated funds to the Myanmar military which is not accurate.
4) Subsidiaries section - As KBZ Group is not a registered company, this section is updated to reflect businesses which bear the 'Kanbawza' brand. The list includes links to other Wiki pages or the company websites.

WikiCup 2020 November newsletter
The 2020 WikiCup has come to an end, with the final round going down to the wire. Our new Champion is Lee Vilenski (submissions), the runner-up last year, who was closely followed by Gog the Mild (submissions). In the final round, Lee achieved 4 FAs and 30 GAs, mostly on cue sport topics, while Gog achieved 3 FAs and 15 GAs, mostly on important battles and wars, which earned him a high number of bonus points. The Rambling Man (submissions) was in third place with 4 FAs and 8 GAs on football topics, with Epicgenius (submissions) close behind with 19 GAs and 16 DYK's, his interest being the buildings of New York.
The other finalists were Hog Farm (submissions), HaEr48 (submissions), Harrias (submissions) and Bloom6132 (submissions). The final round was very productive, and besides 15 FAs, contestants achieved 75 FAC reviews, 88 GAs and 108 GAN reviews. Altogether, Wikipedia has benefited greatly from the activities of WikiCup competitors all through the contest. Well done everyone!

- Gog the Mild (submissions) wins the featured article prize, for a total of 14 FAs during the course of the competition.
- Bloom6132 (submissions) win the featured list prize, for 5 FLs in round 4.
- Rhododendrites (submissions) wins the featured picture prize, for 3 FPs in round 3 and 5 overall.

Also, while the camels story is a bit gruesome, it seems to be ultimately sourced to Al-Tabari, who is apparently a renowned scholar of the period. As to whether its inclusion is undue, I don't know. hi yes, I respect your reason, I shouldn't have done the change to the template section. but I am doing changes only to the first two paragraph. It is important that the word is changed to 'annexed' because that is what east India company did. I don't know why it is showing huge number change in size of the page, maybe because I am copy pasting from notepad maybe. the Buddha cities were part of India before India got partitioned. Because the reason is that now this part of web-enciclopedia is very poor! The brand are only mentioned in a superficial way. Quite a different matter from..."vandalism"(!?). Letterheads Australia edits you rolled back - that is very poor form of yours
Hello I just received a message from you saying my edits to the Australian Letterheads page were "unhelpful"
What an honestly stupid statement. You then unrolled them back.
I am one of the main hosts and history recorders of the Australian Letterheads movement, and I was updating each year and location and meeting host in the list 1996 to 2014 most of which were missing from that list - which you then deleted.
It makes me wonder why I bother.
Please unroll them back so the work I put into updating it, is returned. Thank you Ian Stewart-Koster 2401:A400:2B0C:5F0:F5DC:9AD4:553D:CE3E (talk) 15:34, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- In my opinion your edits added an unnecessary, unsourced and borderline promotional list and I stand by that opinion. Also note that you should not edit articles of subjects you are involved in Asartea Talk | Contribs 15:51, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:RedWarn Userboxes
A tag has been placed on Category:RedWarn Userboxes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! - Voting in the m:Community Wishlist Survey 2021 is ongoing until December 21, 2020. There are 15 proposals in the "bots and gadgets" category that may be of interest.
- A script to help list discussions at WP:ANRFC (request)
- A script to allow undoing edits despite conflicting intermediary edits (request)
- ...and many more, all available at Wikipedia:User scripts/Requests
- The Watchlist Expiry feature worked on by the Community Tech team has been enabled on Wikipedia. For scripts that include watching or unwatching pages, developers may want to update their code to take advantage of the new functionality. See the documentation on mediawiki.org.
- As noted in the prior issue, Enterprisey's links-in-logs script has now been implemented as part of MediaWiki core. By my count, this is his third script that was replaced by implementing the code in MediaWiki core or an extension, along with link-section-edits and abusefilter-hide-search. Additionally, his reply-link script is being converted in part to mw:Extension:DiscussionTools. Are there any other scripts that might be worth integrating directly in MediaWiki? Thoughts would be welcome at Wikipedia talk:Scripts++.

Your revert on <Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit 1999 Tiger Stadium>
Hello. Happiest End of 2020 to you! I added the notation to the Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit Page, regarding their performance of the National Anthem at Final Opening Day and Final Day of Tiger stadium in 1999. I did not cite a reference, as I was a participant on both occasions. As witness and participant, I did not see the need for a reference. I am additionally not savvy enough to complete such a task. Perhaps you will now reconsider the validity of the addition. Thank You! 12.91.106.66 (talk) 14:18, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Reverting edit on Economic history
Hi, sorry for the confusion. I'm new to using Wikipedia and tried to include an explanation but it doesn't seem to have gone through. The reason I removed Michael Lind's work is because it's more recent and I believe has yet to stand the test of time, but more specifically his book has received some criticism for being more properly a work of political science than history. He is more a political science by training, being an advocate of "democratic nationalism" among other things, than an economic historian. This isn't to disparage his ideas, but rather to say they're not exactly accepted history at least not yet. Robert Heilbroner on the other hand was published in 1958 and has since been the 2nd bestselling work of economics in the U.S. His work The Worldly Philosophers has not been accused of having any clear political leanings and has been widely praised for its discussion of the historical development of modern economic philosophy. 2601:42:800:6C60:95C1:3B8C:A6D6:D1 (talk) 01:17, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

This would be a 45 minute conversation about your past experience with other Wikimedia projects and thoughts about the future of this new initiative. I'm hoping to gather a wide range of perspectives so I'd be interested in your opinion regardless of whether you plan to have further involvement.
As a way of saying thanks, the research team is offering a $35 gift card (in your local currency) for participation. We could chat by phone or through a website for audio conferencing.

Windsor Castle
Why did you remove the information I provided on the history page for Windsor Castle? You reverted changes because of ‘no reliable source’ what on earth everyone knows Captain Tom received his honour at Windsor. Just Google it and find the link, I have no idea how to edit a link and make it include a number in brackets. Are you saying I was lying? Lol. And another thing, I added the Queen and Prince Philip had their covid vaccine at the castle. Google it you will find loads of articles it was very heavily reported. The BBC news website good enough for you?
Instead of deleting someone’s hard work why not help them and instead of just reverting changes thinking you’re someone special, why not actually team up and maybe provide a link?
It’s just rude. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.1.86.17 (talk) 06:05, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Abdali Medical Center
Dear Asartea,
I edited Abdali Medical Center by adding some sections that make it more rich like the departments from the website and removed the outdated information, even the page title is outdated the it is permanently moved to Abdali Hospital Please check the website http://abdalimedical.com/ Can you please why you reverted the changes and what i have to do to keep the changes
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdaradkeh (talk • contribs) 11:14, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
- Bdaradkeh, Hi, your edits sounded too promotinal towards the the center which violates Wikipedia's policy on what Wikipedia is not. Furthermore sourcing text to the site of the Medical Center also brings sourcing issues and if you cite too closely, copyright ones. Sentences such as
Abdali Hospital is a 200-bed multi-specialty hospital with the mission to provide best practice patient-centred care and promote research and education.
and sections such as {[tq|Principle of Care}} are simply too promotional to be in an Wikipedia article unless completely rewritten. An sentence such asAbdali Hospital is founded by the investment group behind the Clemenceau Medical Center in Beirut, affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International.
when cited to an reliable source however might be okay to include. Hope this helps Asartea Talk | Contribs 11:34, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
Your revert on <Lost Islamic History: Reclaiming Muslim Civilisation from the Past >
Hi! Asartea,
You recently reverted my edit on the draft i submitted, You gave the explanation that the edit did not appear constructive. I want to tell you that i did submit that draft just recently for review and it got disapproved because i used Goodreads as sources and this was one of the reasons that my draft got disapproved. The user who disapproved my article told that websites like Goodreads cannot be used as reliable sources on wikipedia. That's why i removed that line from the draft which you reverted. I'm working on improving it to get it approved. Incognipedia

Your Edit
Hi, Asartea! This is regarding this discussion [1] and your subsequent edit that was then reverted [2]. The discussion was revived, and strong arguments have been made by both sides. I, citing WP:V and WP:STICKTOSOURCE, am in favour of keeping your edit ("180 million", and we've got new sources incl. these ones: [3] [4] [5]) and also having the article also display other figures (100 million and 160 million). I see absolutely no inconvenience in displaying all figures, and two other editors agree. The discussion has however taken a volatile turn, I have nothing more to add, and I'm therefore alerting you since you're involved. Israell (talk) 02:50, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Vandalism
Hi - you rolled back this edit, and gave the user a vandalism warning. Using Huggle can be very fast-paced, and it can give you the impression of being under a time-pressure to make decisions; nevertheless, we need to avoid biting new users. This was a new account's first edit and, as far as I can see, it shows no signs of vandalism at all. Yes, it's unsourced and yes, it's grammatically wanting - I was about to revert it myself with an explanatory edit summary, but you got there first. If you're going to revert stuff like that, please take a moment to consider giving the user a more helpful notice on their talk, and use an explanatory edit summary. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 16:54, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

I have no idea why you would give me this warning. I said I was adding a prominent sequel to the poem, alongside the one that is already there, and I verified it with a source from a reputable website. (I did have to correct a formatting mistake, in my source, so that it linked to the correct page, but I'm unsure would be the reason you assumed it was vandalism.) I was previously told that I was welcome to describe the additional sequel, if I could source it as I did, so unless you are under the impression that my source is unreliable, I do not see what your basis is.
If it is indeed because you checked my link before I edited it, you are free to see the poem and its verified origins for yourself, here: https://www.baseball-almanac.com/poetry/po_case1.shtml 74.111.180.23 (talk) 14:27, 2 February 2021 (UTC) 74.111.180.23 (talk) 14:27, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Pose (TV Series)
Hi,
I moved the first three people listed as the stars to the bottom of the characters because they are not the stars of the show. They were only there for the first season. As the article that is footnoted next to their names states, they were in the first season just in case the ratings were not good. They are not even a part of the show anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.1.91.247 (talk) 18:49, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
Stadio Ennio Tardini
Actually "Stadio Fratelli Cervi" was the name of the old Lanfranchi stadium, as seen on the latter article. --79.45.163.128 (talk) 10:21, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
My edits were backed by SOURCES already given in the page and you shouldn't delete them
I am Nvtuil but also anonymous user 49.180.169.4 when not logged in. I forgot to login but recently afterwards logged in so you can message me direct.
You claim there's no sources to back my edits. That's not TRUE..in the criticism section of debt trap diplomacy, you can clearly see the SOURCES already being given to back my edits. Rhodium Group, Chatham House, princeton university, Australian national university, etc back my edits.
Also I recently added in EXTRA sources to the intro to show the Scholars input on the matter which is more deserving to be heard than some misleading baseless comment that the theory is conventional wisdom despite that's misleading since conventional wisdom is not wisdom if contradicted by Scholars heavily.
Extra sources - https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-myth-of-china-s-debt-trap-diplomacy-
https://dataspace.princeton.edu/handle/88435/dsp01d217qs56d
https://rhg.com/research/new-data-on-the-debt-trap-question/
Those three sources more than enough thoroughly backs my edits and you have no reason to use the same excuse to delete my information. And claim it as unbacked info. Nvtuil (talk) 12:59, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Nvtuil, same thing with me. She deletes a bunch of stuff and then hides behind "it wasn't constructive". We don't need to expect much more here. We just need to keep re-adding our information and if she still has unfounded issues with it, let's see her in court and have her officially told how wrong she is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.177.224.82 (talk) 18:38, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
Your revert on <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_of_the_F***ing_World>
Please define my addition not being 'constructive'. A map of the shooting locations has been created and curated with high demands on quality and accurateness and added to the references section of the page. A simple one-liner was added in the filming section (where it belongs) so that people who'd like to attain more knowledge about the show know that further resources exist, in this case, a map - all adding to the informative value of the page and the use it serves to its readers. That, basically by definition, is being constructive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.177.224.82 (talk) 12:18, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay, since you don't wish to answer and elaborate why you deleted what should not have been deleted, I will be adding that piece of information as often as need be.
That's what happens when people with too many competencies delete stuff without giving it an ounce of thought.

Wikipedia entry Guillermo Rein
Hello, I'm Frestkipedia. You have recently removed my entry for the Guillermo Rein page. I believe this was done in error, I am a former student of Professor Rein and have based his entry on his public pages, collating all the information on the wikipedia entry as it didnt have any details of his research, teaching and science communication roles. Could you please re-instate the page, as it took me considerable amount of time and effort to find and reference all the information Frestkipedia (talk) 12:20, 4 March 2021 (UTC)Frestkipedia

However if you would like to continue working on it you can find every edit you made in the page history and the version before I reverted here. Asartea Talk | Contribs 12:27, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the explanation- I have added references for every section and every statement, I hope it is OK now- I believe it's very important to recognise the work of our Engineers and Science educators, hence why I added the information about career achievements (with references for each prize) and teaching roles. thank you for your help, and hope it is clearer now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frestkipedia (talk • contribs) 12:30, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

WikiCup 2021 March newsletter
Round 1 of the competition has finished; it was a high-scoring round with 21 contestants scoring more than 100 points. Everyone with a positive score moves on to Round 2, with 55 contestants qualifying. You will need to finish among the top thirty-two contestants in Round 2 if you are to qualify for Round 3. Our top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Epicgenius led the field with a featured article, nine good articles and an assortment of other submissions, specialising on buildings and locations in New York, for a total of 945 points.
- Bloom6132 was close behind with 896 points, largely gained from 71 "In the news" items, mostly recent deaths.
- ImaginesTigers, who has been editing Wikipedia for less than a year, was in third place with 711 points, much helped by bringing League of Legends to featured article status, exemplifying how bonus points can boost a contestant's score.
- Amakuru came next with 708 points, Kigali being another featured article that scored maximum bonus points.
- Ktin, new to the WikiCup, was in fifth place with 523 points, garnered from 15 DYKs and 34 "In the news" items.
- The Rambling Man scored 511 points, many from featured article candidate reviews and from football related DYKs.
- Gog the Mild, last year's runner-up, came next with 498 points, from a featured article and numerous featured article candidate reviews.
- Hog Farm, at 452, scored for a featured article, four good articles and a number of reviews.
- Le Panini, another newcomer to the WikiCup, scored 438 for a featured article and three good articles.
- Lee Vilenski, last year's champion, scored 332 points, from a featured article and various other sport-related topics.
These contestants, like all the others, now have to start again from scratch. In Round 1, contestants achieved eight featured articles, three featured lists and one featured picture, as well as around two hundred DYKs and twenty-seven ITNs. They completed 97 good article reviews, nearly double the 52 good articles they claimed. Contestants also claimed for 135 featured article and featured list candidate reviews. There is no longer a requirement to mention your WikiCup participation when undertaking these reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is a good article candidate, a featured process, or something else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.
If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sturmvogel 66 (talk) and Cwmhiraeth (talk). Fantasy Baseball - History
Good morning. This information was up on Wikipedia some years ago and was taken down for some reason in 2017:
"The so-called Rotisserie scoring system was essentially established by the Chicago Baseball League, founded in 1978 by Ivan R. Dee and others (and continuing in play), which preceded the Rotisserie League. The Chicago Baseball League also established the draft system to form individual teams.[5]"
What do you need to additionally support it and can you explain what needs to be done? We have all our archives in storage back to 1978 and have met with Mr. Daniel Okrent who used to believe he had the first verifiable league until he met with us.

Hi Asartea, I noticed that you reverted an IP address’s edit to the article Suez, because you believed it was vandalism, right? I just wanted to tell you that I checked what the IP wrote and it was perfectly acceptable. They added a part on the recent blockage of the Suez Canal. It was all legit. I’ve put their edit back, and added in a source for it, if that’s why you reverted it. I’m not angry at you or anything like that, I just wanted to tell you why I reverted it. Recent changes
- Some very old web browsers don’t work well with the Wikimedia wikis. Some old code for browsers that used to be supported is being removed. This could cause issues in those browsers. [7]
- IRC recent changes feeds have been moved to a new server. Make sure all tools automatically reconnect to
irc.wikimedia.org
and not to the name of any specific server. Users should also consider switching to the more modern EventStreams. [8]
Problems
- When you move a page that many editors have on their watchlist the history can be split. It might also not be possible to move it again for a while. This is because of a job queue problem. [9]
- Some translatable pages on Meta could not be edited. This was because of a bug in the translation tool. The new MediaWiki version was delayed because of problems like this. [10][11]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 30 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 31 March. It will be on all wikis from 1 April (calendar).

Allan Bennett Page
Would if possible to provide a link to the most up-to-date page that was blocked. I was unaware that quoting a paragraph or two was against any fair use laws. I am happy to rewrite the content so that it is in compliance with the standards that are defined, though I spent some hours gathering that content and have been blocked from accessing it. Is there some what that it could be posted somewhere temporarily, if you look there was a lot of references in it, and only a few sections were probably to heavily copied. I appreicate your help. Charles_Henry_Allan_Bennett page is the one.
Moved my note from the Allan Bennett talk page after reading your profile request: If you could possible open the block temporarily so that the content can be copied as I do not have an offline copy. The book I mainly copied was from the 1950s as quoted, so the above mentioned material http://www.buddhanet.net/pdf_file/honourfathers.pdf must heavily copy from that text edited by Christmas Humphres. As mentioned on your talk page, I was just unfamilar with the procedure, if I can gain temporary access by having them unblocked, I can copy the work that was done, and set to bringing it up to the standards required. If you can provide links to what level of quotes are allowed also that would be helpful. Thanks for your time and care, I hope you can help me regain that research, and I do apologies for being unaware of what was appropriate. 203.59.32.61 (talk) 13:16, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

Copyright
Hello, how are these references copyrighted? Ive taken them from the people's wikipedia. F.e Caracalla and copied-pasted it. Thanks in advance.Holloman123 (talk) 15:15, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
About the caracalla blog website then I can understand (i'm repeating it was on Caracalla's article so it's still not my fault), but what I can't understand is the NYTimes archived article, and the other things.. Weird.Holloman123 (talk) 15:20, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Holloman123: Ah in that case that might change matters (circular copying etc). Let me check Asartea Talk | Contribs 15:18, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Holloman123:, I've checked and Caracalla contained that content before the blog post, which means I'm assuming they copied from us. Your edits have been restored and the warning removed from your page, my excuses for both of those. However do please read Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia as even when copying within Wikipedia there are certain rules that must be followed to ensure proper attribution. Asartea Talk | Contribs 15:33, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
Is it all good now?
I suppose that it's all good now, but my main question is why'd you delete them anyway? I mean even if I didn't copy it from Caracalla's article, what would have changed? I added references anyway. This hasn't happened to me before, that's why im asking.Holloman123 (talk) 15:33, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Holloman123:, because it appeared as though you copied from http://www.christophersean.com/index.php/blog/caracalla, which claims its
Copyright © 2020 Christopher S. Miller. All Rights Reserved
which would have been a Copyright violation, which is against policy. Asartea Talk | Contribs 15:39, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
Ohh ok I understand now. You can delete the sections here if you wish. Holloman123 (talk) 15:51, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Holloman123:, not needed since the Wikipedia content predates the blog, and I've already ensured proper attribution. Asartea Talk | Contribs 16:05, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Editors can collapse part of an article so you have to click on it to see it. When you click a link to a section inside collapsed content it will now expand to show the section. The browser will scroll down to the section. Previously such links didn't work unless you manually expanded the content first. [12]
Changes later this week
- The citoid API will use for example
2010-12-XX
instead of2010-12
for dates with a month but no days. This is because2010-12
could be confused with2010-2012
instead ofDecember 2010
. This is called level 1 instead of level 0 in the Extended Date/Time Format. [13] - The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 6 April. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 7 April. It will be on all wikis from 8 April (calendar).
Future changes
- PAWS can now connect to the new Wiki Replicas. Cross-database
JOINS
will no longer work from 28 April. There is a new way to connect to the databases. Until 28 April both ways to connect to the databases will work. If you think this affects you and you need help you can post on Phabricator or on Wikitech.
