Hi, I'm the guy you have mentioned in this great Wiki which is so far the best of all Wikis regarding the case. I would like to help you to make it even better, we can insert a pic of the original book which made them thought I'm a ritual murder - I still have it here. Also, I happily give you access to all court files and evidence, but I must ask you to not mention my clear name. Instead, I ask you to use "the suspect".

Search engines are indexing Wikipedia content by default. It took me many years to get my name off the internet and having newspapers deleting my name and putting their archive pages on no-follow. Mentioning my name has destroyed my life, my son's infancy, brought my family in danger and will do the same to us again if my name is on there again. Please be a reasonable editor.

I have made some other minor corrections as well. I'm a Wiki editor newbie, so please be kind should I have done it the wrong way. We can work together on this Wiki and I can give you the information you won't' find on the Web. Also in the newspaper articles, you found are a couple of things wrong.

For example: "Only one suspect, a German national, was arrested on suspicion, but later cleared from involvement, and the two confirmed murders remain unsolved." This is not correct!

Indeed the murder of José Antonio Castillo Torres has been caught. It was a guy called "Cubano negro", he was the lover of Amparo del Socorro Osaba Varga which was the victims spouse. Ms. Amparo denied knowing that her lover had murdered her husband. The newspapers did not report about it.

Another issue: The "Confirmed victims" section we have to eliminate.

Reason: There were no confirmed victims at all, never been, not even said in the newspapers. All victims were suspected. If there had been a confirmed victim I would not be sitting here today and working with you on this Wiki, instead, I would sit in Modelo Penitentiary in Managua. To speak of "Confirmed victims" is technically, legally and also linguistically wrong.

For most of the articles I've made, all is based on what is presented in news sources, but after one is created, I leave it up to other editors to do whatever they want with the information. Hey there. I know you write a lot of articles on serial killers in the United States and they are really good and well written. I don't suppose you'd be interested in writing one on Paul Ezra Rhoades? He was a convicted serial killer who was executed in Idaho in 2011 for 3 murders but suspected of more. Haunted Spy, you cannot ever call someone a "serial killer," like here, before they actually have been convicted. That is a serious violation of the Biographies of living persons policy, specifically its WP:BLPCRIME section, which explicitly says: A living person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until convicted by a court of law. Accusations, investigations and arrests do not amount to a conviction. It is imperative that, from this point forward, you observe that maxim, without any exceptions, whatsoever. Göhrde murders

Hi. I just spent 3 hours doing a massive clean up of Göhrde murders. If I had known, I could have re-translated this perfectly myself from scratch in about 45 minutes, but then, I'm bilingual and a professional linguist. I've also added the final, important key sequel which probably was not in the German original until a month after you translated it. Translations are not easy for non bilinguals, so don't be afraid to tag your translations for clean up rather than do them and abandon them to others who are only interested in correcting categories and other on-the-fly AWB improvements. Are they classed as serial killers?

Hello friend. Users have made edits to some pages I've worked on saying they are serial killers: Thomas Knight (murderer) and Robert Gleason (murderer). What do you think though, are they really classed as serial killers? They have killed more than 3 people over a time period but it wasn't really for psychological gratification, more out of anger and desperation while in prison or to get money.

Similarly with this page Jurijus Kadamovas and Iouri Mikhel, they killed 5 people but it was done purely out of greed and for more money, not psychological gratification at all. So are they really classed as serial killers? What do you think? Thanks. Inexpiable (talk) 13:51, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@Inexpiable: I think that Knight technically qualifies, but Gleason definitely doesn't. I'm more on the fence about Kadamovas and Mikhel, since it appears (to me at least) more akin to tactics used in organized crime, but I can't say for sure whether that's the case here. Machine Translations

I appreciate your enthusiasm for creating articles in English about serial killers from around the world (Lord knows I've had a Fortunato Botton Neto draft lying around for ages), but, to quote WP:MACHINE "Wikipedia consensus is that an unedited machine translation, left as a Wikipedia article, is worse than nothing." MT doesn't take nuance into account, which is problematic---no language is truly rigid and always follows its rules. And now I've noticed that you've been adding articles about American serial killers translated from various tongues: Russian, German, Spanish. And in at least two instances I've seen, they run afoul of MOS:TIES, requiring the use of American English, and yet using, eg, the spelling "calibre" or using kilometers for measurement.

If you're going to use machine translation, I would recommend using DeepL instead of Google, as it lets you edit the translation to make it sound better. Just take it paragraph by paragraph, as there's a length limit.

Please be careful about using Murderpedia as a source, especially when it comes to dates, it is a very unreliable website. The DOB and DOD for James Edward Wood were incorrect, I managed to find the correct info from the Idaho DOC website through archive history: [12]. Münsterland murders

Hi. I do not stalk your work but I've just cleaned up yet another of your German-English translations that I stumbled on by coincidence and rather than rewrite the whole thing in real time, it took me over an hour to sort it out - after all, you take the credit for the creation. Perhaps you could look at my edits to see the actual extent of the totally wrong and inaccurate work this kind of translation produces - often stating the opposite from the source text. Wikipedia is supposed to be an accurate resource. Translating German to English can be a challenge to non native speakers of German, and machine translations get it notoriously wrong. IMO, if you are not bilingual and if you don't want your work to be copyedited by linguists, it's probably best left to those who are. This issue actually goes back as far as three years ago. @Kudpung: Thank you for your hard work! In regard to the translation, I'm bilingual, but admittedly, the other language I know is not German and I do use machine translation to get the basic jist of what is said. Everything from there is just what I believe to be most accurate translation of it (I don't copy and paste everything that's said), but again, that's bound not to be 100% accurate as I'm neither a native speaker not proficient at it. And I resorted to translating this one because, from my personal observations, few users translate serial killer-related articles from their foreign-language equivalents. But, if there's someone willing to take over in case such articles do pop up (not only for German, but for pretty much any language they consider themselves proficient at), I'm more than willing to leave it to them. No need to thank me - I'm just disappointed that Wikipedia is still being filled by substandard articles by people who have been accorded the Autopatrolled right - we've even just removed it from all admins. Getting the basic jist and writing what you belive to be accurate is just not good enough for our encyclopedia, especially - as you can see from my edits - that some of it is just plain wrong. When such articles are caught at NPP, they often end up being deleted. The problem is that the patrollers have no way of knowing just how poor the translations are. If you want a French or German article translated, you can ask me and if I have time I'll do it.
