MySpace is an official site from the band, most other sites are not official even if they claim to be. See WP:EL, although it doesn't say anything about band external links it might give an understanding. If you look at some featured articles the only sites they have are the official and the Myspace. Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3[edit]

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because it's the holiday season and there are plenty of off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! RE:Opeth Facebook[edit]

I reverted your revision because that site is indeed Opeth's official Facebook. WP:EL discourages MySpaces and other such sites, but if other featured article bands have Myspace sites on their article pages (see Slayer, Godsmack, Megadeth) what prohibits a Facebook page too? I am going to try and find some fun around the project and not just focus on vandal hunting. Speaking of which. Do you still monitor the vandal proof access? I downloaded the newest version but it said I wasn't authorized to use it. Do I have to start with a clean slate and get 250 edits and avoid edit wars before I can use it again? "Starcraft" article: A StarCraft version for NDS has been found.[edit]

I interpreted it as a "merge and redirect" proposal posted in the wrong place. After I closed the discussion, I posted a reference from a reliable source on the article's talk page for the editors there to make use of. If I can find one in 3 minutes, I'm sure they can find more. And there's probably a lot more in printed sources. Deletion discussions last for five days. The five days was up. You agreed yourself that there was no consensus. That makes it a default keep right there. Also, you proposed it as a merge. When somebody pointed that out, you replied with "What I mean is that this character shouldn't have it's own article; any information that the main article doesn't have can be included there. A separate article isn't needed." That is exactly what a merge would accomplish, and is exactly what merging is for. You proposed a merge in a deletion forum. It should have been speedy kept. RE: Hi! Just dropping by to congratulate you on your work fighting vandals. However, I spotted your recent report at AIV (here) and removed it; I did so partly because the user's last warnings were last year, and they seem to have stopped after your warning. I'm thinking that the IP address was dynamic or shared, meaning that it was a different user than previously. For IPs, try to give the IP a full run of warnings if their last warnings were a while ago; as mentioned above, they can switch hands quite often. Keep up the good work! Ah. I see what happened. The page revision history[5] shows that the Vandal Proof program goofed, warning User:81.171.128.242 about an edit by User:69.132.73.88, thereby making it appear that 81.171.128.242 had vandalized that page again after the level 4 warning when 81.171.128.242 had actually stopped. VP is a powerful tool, but I have to watch it carefully because it just does that once in a while. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I see that you have tagged my new article about the South African Commondo System. I don´t know much about it, but I ran into an article about it and as I have been hearing about it more and more in my search of information about South Africa I thought it should have it´s own article. Thanks for checking at [[User talk:66.215.5.163] I did not find a block either but when I looked at MediaWiki:Blockedtext and it says "If your block log (check via my contributions) does not list any current blocks, then your IP address or range has been "hard blocked" due to abuse either by the previous person who was allocated or sharing your IP address."
