Status changer[edit]

Hi there! Just thought you should know that the status changer you gave me the code for, although great, removed the TOC and edit section links from my talk page, so I had to remove it from that page. I don't know if that's something you're able to fix or not. I'm still using it on my userpage though! -- ConDemTalk 16:03, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks MoP, I've done that now, just in case I add sections to my userpage. Took me bloody ages to work out how to make a little box though! ConDemTalk 00:22, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cool[edit]

Cool, thanks for the offer! Right now, everything on the things to do page is fair game, such as merging star wars battle articles into their respective games as plot summaries. — Deckiller 21:57, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It lives![edit]

Jedi6/WikiWars --- Jedi6-(need help?) 23:49, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That...is *awesome*! I think I'll put it on my userpage. -Xol 01:31, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How about "Just try and stop Wikipedia and we'll blow up Alderaan." Jedi6-(need help?) 01:35, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Attack, foxes![edit]

Funny heading :D. Um, nope, didn't create the account. Don't want to pass judgment so soon, but the username is too uncannily alike to mine's—especially since the capital letter 'i' looks like an l. —Mirlen 01:29, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, misunderstood you *blushes*. Silly me! I haven't thought of the idea, but that's certainly a new way to prevent imposters. I'll think about it :). Thanks for watching out for me. ^_^ *hugs MoP* —Mirlen 01:35, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, thanks. Got to go, my parents are really pissed off and want me to get off immediately. :PMirlen 01:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey MoP, is there any way for you to able to convert the 'Welcome to my talk page' heading in the BOX, NOT the heading 'Welcome to Mirlen's talk page!', to the 'Click here to show archived discussions' show/hide message thing, like you have on your talk page? —Mirlen 16:23, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, MoP! —Mirlen 17:00, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just rearranged a few things. You like it? —Mirlen 18:26, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I already have a status changer bar on my userpage, which probably needs reorganizing and templates. Perhaps it'll be handier if I also put it on my talk page. —Mirlen 19:12, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jedi6 RfA[edit]

Well alot can happen in three days. Especially since some users purposely wait until the very last day to decide. Jedi6-(need help?) 02:23, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to Wikipedia:Requests for CheckUser a checkuser can be done only if the possible sockpuppet's vote makes a difference in the vote. So if it makes a difference I'll request a checkuser. :-) Jedi6-(need help?) 02:28, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And now for something completely different[edit]

File:1000000eme.jpg
Yet another sysop rolls off the conveyor belt, thanks you for your help, and excuses himself for a few days while he practices his new abilities. Back in action soon! -- Hoary 09:21, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #2[edit]

The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
  1. The next elections: Approval voting as before and, also as before, an previous leadership member can run. Please submit your name for voting in the relevant section of this page. Voting starts on 2006-04-23 and ends on 2006-04-30. There will be three places up for grabs as KnowledgeOfSelf is leaving Wikipedia. Please see the previously linked page for full details.
  2. The Code of Conduct is now ready for extensive discussion! Specific comments should go to the Code of Conduct talk page, discussion of having one at all should be directed to the main Esperanza talk page.
  3. The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.
Signed...

Kusma's RfA[edit]

Hello, Master of Puppets! Thank you for your support in my recent successful request for adminship. If you ever have problems that you could use my assistance with or see me doing stupid things with my new buttons, don't hesitate to contact me. And thank you for the champagne! Happy editing, Kusma (討論) 15:12, 7 April 2006 (UTC) [reply]

[edit]

I have a few ideas for a pic/logo, if you're still up to it (I'm not sure which would be easier or more aesthetically pleasing, so you can decide):

  1. something patriotic in the background, with my name in the foreground,
  2. something scenic (like a sunset, etc.), with my name in the foreground, or
  3. something artistic with coffee, again with my name in the foreground.

As far as fonts go, I like a lot of different ones. I'm not a fan of fixed-width fonts or of arial, but I do like Verdana, Optima, Zapfino, Trebuchet MS, and Skia, among others. You can use your discretion.

Thanks again for the offer. - ElAmericano (dímelo) 18:02, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You really don't have to make all three—that seems like a ton of work—but feel free if you really enjoy that sort of thing. I myself like the sunset a lot. Maybe if the logo works out, I can design a color scheme based on it. I'm not really sure where to get a legal "artistic" sunset picture though. - ElAmericano (dímelo) 05:00, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the revert on my talk page. That ip also vandalized Joyous's page and I reverted it. Thanks again.--Dakota ~ ° 05:57, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

222.153.27.109[edit]

Bullshit you're offline, you just messaged me

Anyway, your "evidence" was a link to some article on cobras, which didnt really prove any point to me.

So are you that other chick's supervisor?

It just annoys me, I mean if somebody's vandalising then sending a message to them via their ip isnt going to deter them, because it takes 5 seconds to get a new one.

Maybe your mod-type-people need to learn some of the basics of the internet —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.27.109 (talkcontribs) 06:04, 9 April 2006

Vandalism[edit]

I got another warning from that dakota chick, she really needs to take a look at the definition of "vandalism" as in the link she pointed me to, which may cover what the last person with my ip address was doing, but not the message i posted on your page. I mean, just because she's admin doesnt mean she needs to be so snappy —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.27.109 (talkcontribs) 06:04, 9 April 2006

Re: Vandalism[edit]

Just got an account now.

I think that more than anything I was just really shocked with the message popping up for no apparent reason.

I still stand by my comment that dakota needs to be a little less trigger-happy, but thank you for your understanding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by House haxxor (talkcontribs) 06:24, 9 April 2006

Re: First (almost!) real article[edit]

Edit links

Your article looks perfectly fine, so I have a nitpicky formatting issue for you. :D The image placement and subsections cause some of the edit links to cluster near the end of the page, so it becomes difficult to tell which edit link leads to a certain section. This is only one person's opinion, but you may want to add a gallery at the end of each subsection with several images in each for easy reference and display purposes. Just something to think about. :) Good work! Sango123 (e) 18:00, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An unexpected message[edit]

Why did you send me a message about posting comercial links? I'm sure I did not post any commercial links, the only link I posted was a link to bzpower.com, which is a fansite and is not a commercial site (at least to my knowledge). Thanks for your time.--Tortuga Turaga 15:35, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

SJR Copyedit[edit]

If you don't mind, can you take a look at SJR - I have done some initial copyediting, but I think that it requires a second opinion. I've also done a revert using popups based on the work of an anon who mysteriously removed information.

Cheers, TDS (talkcontribs) 16:13, 13 April 2006 (UTC) (please reply on my talk page)[reply]

Check the SJR website - there is a plethora of information there. TDS (talkcontribs) 16:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just merged Dutton Arena with SJR - seemed like a redudant article to have. Dutton Arena isn't really that notable. TDS (talkcontribs) 16:21, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Myserious Edits to SJR[edit]

I'm unsure of what to make of this edit - I don't want to revert it without getting a second opinion, but this edit seems to only remove information from it. He won't respond to talk page comments either.

from Wikipedia's Vandalism page[edit]

Talk page vandalism

Deleting the comments of other users from article Talk pages, or deleting entire sections thereof, is generally considered vandalism. Removing personal attacks is often considered legitimate, and it is considered acceptable to archive an overly long Talk page to a separate file and then remove the text from the main Talk page. "The above does not apply to the user's own Talk page, where users generally are permitted to remove and archive comments at their discretion."
