  • I pledge that I shall eradicate any typos and let the dogs out if I have to because the world cannot be itself with incorrect spellings, people will die, faces shall distort, and the excrement of all typos shall come together and plot against the world. This is the reason I pledge to kill typos, not fame, not glory, not even just to help with typos, it is to get a little box on my user page that solely states that I am a member of this valiant task force. NO LONGER SHALL WE FEAR TYPOS!!!! THE TIME IS NOW, THE PLACE IS HERE! BRING YOURSELVES UP TO THE CHALLENGE SO TOGETHER, WE MAY GET A LITTLE NAMEPLATE ON OUR USER-PAGES THAT STATES THAT WE KILL TYPOS!!!!!!!!!!! • Typos make me go rawr (in a bad way), and I shall do away with any and all that I see! Unless I'm too tired or lazy. Also, I try to be careful when I type so as not to have typos of my own, and I don't see why others can't do the same. Especially on MSN. Spelling errors are not typos, but they, too, make me go rawr, and I shall do away with them as well. NoriMori (ノリモリ) 17:34, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • ... my message to the generic typo: "He tasks me! He tasks me, and I shall have him! • I have declared war on "free reign" and on the adverbial use of "everyday". I will make every effort to seek them out and eliminate them or, if they're quoted accurately, to brand them with scornful "sic" labels. --Ammodramus (talk) 16:28, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I pledge to help correct texts, especially spelling and grammar, without being too pedantic about the latter. Segilla (talk) 15:59, 28 December 2009
  • When I am in that scary world which is the web outside Wikipedia, when I see a typo I find my mouse scurrying of its own accord to the top of the page trying to find an "edit" tab. Curiously when I am in Wikipedia, and I see typos, I think: is there anything serious which needs done to this page - like, say, a speedy delete tag? If there is not, I leave it to someone else to fix the tyops. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:27, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1 January 2008 – 31 December 2008[edit]

Londonsista (talk) 04:28, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'll fight a one-editor campaign against "is been", correcting it variously to "is being", "has been", plain "is", or whatever seems appropriate, ditto "was been", "should of", "could of", "would of". And will continue to correct typos I fall over, anywhere on WikiPedia. PamD (talk) 13:05, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1 January 2007 – 31 December 2007[edit]

  • I pledge to correct any spelling errors I find during the time I am on Wikipedia. One tool I use is Microsoft Outlook. I have a page in my drafts folder that I cut and paste to correct errors. CrohnieGalTalk 13:39, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Except when sounded as "ay", as in neighbor or weigh, of course. 208.200.176.2 17:05, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you're just weird. Admiral Memo (talk) 02:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I pledge to check for errors anytime I am editing a page. Doenut1793 5:33 am, 16 July 2007, Monday (7 years, 8 months, 23 days ago) (UTC+1)
  • I'll see what I can do. Ahahahaha. Okay, I pledge to use Mozilla Firefox to correct any spelling errors I come across. Furthermore, I will attempt to correct the spelling on 10 pages per day. Okay, maybe not. 5 a day. That I can be certain to do daily. BlueCanary9999 00:35, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I will correct any typos I come across in my normal browsing, as well as try to keep an eye out for consistency of usage (color/colour) in an article. Furthermore, I will check the Common misspelling list from time to time. gorffy 05:21, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Every few weeks I fix /Ju(i)?l(l)?(i)?ard/. I ended up creating the article at Julliard, when I realized how often they really mean Editions Julliard. I also change Chumash to Humash, though if an article on a town in California means the Jewish sense, I may have missed it. These two tasks straddle the line between disambiguation and spelling, and I am more of a disambiguation faerie, but I fix a lot of spelling too. I just did a few dozen of Brittanica, but I won't make a habit of that. I'm just committing to Juilliard and Humash. — Randall Bart 23:49, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I will use my skills and intuition in correcting every typo I come across when looking for such things. If I am unsure, I will use the spellcheck on my computer, and the web to compare with relevant websites. Coryma (Talk)
  • I will correct any typo I come across on Wikipedia, using the spell-check in Firefox and by searching on Google for mistakes. I will pay special attention to British vs American consistency in articles. Laerwen 05:19, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1 January 2006 – 31 December 2006[edit]

  • I will be looking for duplicates like "the the" and "that that".
  • Umm.. "that that" is not necessarily wrong. The reason I dislike this car, is that that other car was better. Not the best example of a sentence, yes, but it is still grammatically correct :) EuroSong talk 00:20, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That surely is a disasterous typo Rbarreira 12:24, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Every time I get bored, I'll continue from where I left off in the list of common misspellings. Right now, I'm only on the letter 'a', so by the time I get back around to 'a' in about 100 years, it'll be good to go again. tv316 15:50, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I used to get confused as to the correct spelling of "forty", so it's on my regular hit list. So is "valuable", and I'll be adding a new word to the list every week or two. --Estarriol 17:38, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1 January 2005 – 31 December 2005[edit]

JoeBot is now doing this with AutoWikiBrowser so I'll bow out, and move my efforts over to Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation.
