Deletion sorting on hold?[edit]

I noticed that it has been a while since the wubbot has paid a visit here, for example. I see that you are on a wikibreak, but I thought I would leave a note saying that I am starting to feel the effects of your excellent bot's absence when I load that page. Best, --Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 16:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, hurray! The bot is back. --Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 23:16, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry but I really needed a break. the wub "?!" 23:51, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't that always the way: You notice that you appreciate someone when they've absented themselves. So, I'll just take this opportunity to express my thanks for all the great work that you and your bot do around here. --Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 17:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the kind words, they are much appreciated. the wub "?!" 15:13, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for The wubbot[edit]

Hello The wub,

Thanks for using your bot to update deletion lists such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Japan. I have a suggestion. When adding or removing a deletion discussion, could the bot place the name and a link in the edit summary? I've been doing this manually (see the list's history for examples) but I'd happily retire if the bot did that.

Best regards,

Fg2 (talk) 05:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look into it. I'm planning to largely rewrite the bot next week when term is over, so may add it then or possibly before. On some pages it often removes a large number at once so wouldn't be able to list them all. the wub "?!" 15:10, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I understand the difficulty of fitting them all in since I can't do it manually. Fg2 (talk) 00:46, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving problem on DELSORT/Canada[edit]

Have you any idea why your bot is having trouble archiving Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Northern Ontario Business from Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Canada? You can see it's tried several times (Deletion sorting/Canada/archive) but it doesn't do it. I tried today subst'ing the AfD templates on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toronto-Montreal rivalry which I thought might help and it did succeed in archiving that one but still fails Northern Ontario Business. DoubleBlue (Talk) 21:06, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • sigh* Looks like a problem with underscores again, which I thought I'd fixed. Thanks for the heads up, I'll take another look. For now I just replaced the underscores in the transclude with spaces, so it should archive it on the next pass. the wub "?!" 21:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{afd-top}}[edit]

I am editing the template so the result may be completed easily in the template instead of outside the template as in: The result was {{{1}}}. BoL (Talk) 03:38, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thank spam[edit]

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which passed with 194 supporting, 9 opposing, and 4 neutral.
Your kindness and constructive criticism is very much appreciated. I look forward to using the tools you have granted me to aid the project. I would like to give special thanks to Tim Vickers, Anthony and Acalamari for their nominations.
Thank you again, VanTucky

Rfa thanks[edit]

Thanks for supporting my recent request for adminship which was successful with 89 supports, 0 opposes, and 2 neutrals. Unfortunately all I can offer is this lame text thanks rather than some fancy-smancy thank-you spam template thingy. I was very pleased to receive such strong support and to hear so many nice comments from editors whom I respect. I’ll do my best with the tools, and if you ever see me going astray don’t hesitate to drop a note on my talk page. Thanks again for your support!--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 03:52, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

wubbot question[edit]

Howdy! Would you mind taking a look at whether there is a wubbot glitch archiving Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Judaism? Wubbot has been by five times to archive since the Ouze Merham afd closed 29 March 2008, but still hasn't caught that one. By the way, thanks for the very helpful bot. --MPerel 07:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I think it's just that there was an errant space i.e. {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ouze Merham‎ }} instead of {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ouze Merham‎}}. I fixed it, so hopefully it'll get archived next time. Unfortunately the bot is ridiculously picky about such things, and programming common sense is pretty much impossible. the wub "?!" 16:56, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that didn't seem to work. I think it may have something to do with the long length of that AfD (164 kilobytes!). Strangely it seems to have added the link to the archive page each time, but not removed it from the current list. I cleaned it up manually for now. the wub "?!" 19:28, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for looking into it and taking care of it : ) --MPerel 06:33, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar![edit]

The XfD Barnstar
The is no question that you deserve this for your hard work and constancy in XfD discussions. - jc37 02:28, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While I've seen you around (and recall asking for your help once), and though we haven't much talked, I sincerely think that your work here is under-valued, and you (like many here) deserve this and many more.

(As a personal aside, I seem to remember a time where most (though not all) CfD discussions were closed either by you, Kbdank71, or RobertG. Great editors all : )

I hope you're having a great day : ) - jc37 02:28, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, thanks! It means a lot. Sorry I haven't been around CFD so much recently, I've got exams coming up. the wub "?!" 15:48, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
