Hi,

I noticed you've deleted Chris Gartners Wikipedia page here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Gartner Is it possible to get a copy of this information?

That was a copyright violation, you can find the original text at [1] under "About Chris Gartner". the wub "?!" 12:19, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CloseCFD.js[edit]

Hey, I was wondering if you could make an adjustment to your CloseCFD.js script? Normally, it works fine, but if someone adds, for example, a level 3 header to break up the discussion, the script drops everything past the break. See this example. Is this something that can be fixed? --Kbdank71 15:30, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look into it tonight when I have my Javascript manual to hand. I'm sure it won't be too hard. the wub "?!" 15:34, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much. --Kbdank71 16:03, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I should have looked here first, but after growling at Kbdank71 after the problem and finding out that it was the script, I thought that before saying "there's a bug" I'd see if I could pin down the problem. So I took a look at the script and have suggested a fix: see User talk:The wub/CloseCFD.js#Sub-sections_of_debates.
Hope this helps. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:01, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the help BHG, and sorry for not getting to it sooner. Even when I did it turned out to be trickier than I expected. Hopefully it's fixed now though, let me know if there's any more trouble. the wub "?!" 00:20, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to both of you for the help. I'll let you know if I run into any problems. --Kbdank71 01:48, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question: can you add a horizontal rule (----) at the end of the top close line? Right under the signature, like [2]. I think that would help to set apart the result from the discussion. What do you think? --Kbdank71 13:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea! I just did it. Btw, it's nice to be around CFD again. I haven't been there in a while but I see the old crowd is still about. :) the wub "?!" 13:52, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thanks. Works great! And welcome back! --Kbdank71 17:14, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My comments[edit]

My comments were in no way intended towards you. And my apologies if you ever thought they were. You are (as I hope you know) someone whose seemingly tireless (and often thankless) work I respect greatly.

You should have seen the DRV close I was referring to. Then perhaps you may understand my earlier thought more.

Anyway, I have a further opinion about much of what's been going on here, but feel somewhat hamstrung with the DRV being currently open. I'll drop you a note when this is all resolved.

(See Occuli's talk page for some other info about another aspect of this DRV...)

Anyway, sorry again.

I hope you're having a great day : ) - jc37 03:03, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania 2010 Oxford bid[edit]

Thank you for supporting the Oxford bid to hold Wikimania 2010! We're currently in the final stages of the bid process - the jury will be announcing their decision by the 16th April. We're currently putting together the local team for the bid (who will do what if the bid wins); if you're able to be on the local team, please put your name in the appropriate place on m:Wikimania 2010/Bids/Oxford/Team. We'd also welcome anything you can do to help refine the bid in these last few days. If you have any questions, please let me or User:Seddon know. Thanks. New image project[edit]

Hi. This little form letter is just a courtesy notice to let you know that a proposal to merge the projects Wikipedia:WikiProject Free images, Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use, Wikipedia:WikiProject Moving free images to Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia:WikiProject Illustration into the newly formed Wikipedia:WikiProject Images and Media has met with general support at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Files. Since you're on the rosters of membership in at least one of those projects, I thought you might be interested. Conversation about redirecting those projects is located here. Please participate in that discussion if you have any interest, and if you still have interest in achieving the goals of the original project, we'd love to have you join in. If you aren't interested in either the conversation or the project, please pardon the interruption. :) Thanks. Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:35, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
