The Billy Mays page.[edit]

Can we talk about this? Or are you going to be one of those admins that has no soul and ignores everything I say? 74.176.183.246 (talk) 22:31, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, not ignoring you, although the state of my soul is certainly questionable. You may find it an amusing tribute, but it's not appropriate for an encyclopedia article, which is what this is. the wub "?!" 22:35, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Popular articles?[edit]

I know you have left English Wikinews, but do you still tend the wubbot? Could it be made to update 'Popular articles' at en.WN again? --InfantGorilla (talk) 15:52, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I won't be running it myself, but Bawolff was in touch with me and said that he'd be willing to take it over. I've made the source code available (much of which I stole from him in the first place!). the wub "?!" 10:57, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IP editor resuming vandalism after block expiration[edit]

Hi, I see you blocked 24.173.187.138 (talk · contribs · block user) for a 23-hour period. As soon as the block expired, he resumed vandalism: [1]. Perhaps a longer block is in order. TJRC (talk) 20:23, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I've reblocked, and will keep an eye on it. the wub "?!" 20:53, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Who do you think you are? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.164.53.240 (talk) 22:15, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there :)[edit]

I was running Huggle earlier today and saw you reverting a bit, thought I'd pop in and say hi; it's nice to see you on-wiki. Thanks for your support in the emails you sent out earlier last month, I really appreciate it. (Was going to get back to you sooner on that, but RL issues distracted me.) Sorry to see you had left WN too, but I know the frustration you must be feeling. Cheers and happy editing :) Tempodivalse [talk] 15:58, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Tempo, it's nice to hear from you. I only wish I could have done more. the wub "?!" 16:10, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how that text "Mantises are big green bugs and I like them" got there. I reverted some vandalism done by an IP and I found that text saying that I made that edit which I certainly didn't. Puffin Lets talk! 18:26, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You reverted to a version that was also vandalised. Sorry about the warning, didn't mean to give one to you. the wub "?!" 18:28, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reopening discussion[edit]

Fair enough. Seemed to me that the main issue was resolved with TT's unblock, and RegentPark's comment was too good an opportunity to pass up the attempt at dramahz reduction. :-) I figured anyone who wanted to continue the discussion would be better off doing it in an RFC/U on me, or some similar venue. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:39, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, as soon as I did it I started having second thoughts. But I generally don't like to see discussions being forcibly shut down (though thoroughly agree with sensible drama-reduction efforts like RegentPark's), and letting people close discussion on themselves sets a bad precedent. It's nothing personal, and thanks for being understanding anyway. the wub "?!" 20:47, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. All evidence to the contrary, I can be quite reasonable. :-) --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 21:00, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree with wub, having people close discussions on themselves is a bad precedent and just looks bad. Even if it were a clear cut consensus, somebody else should be the one who shuts it down. Just like an AfD. If I wrote an article, it got nom'd for deletion, 10 people chimed in all of them saying "Keep." It would be inappropriate for me to close the AFD on my own article, it would be better to let somebody else do so.---Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 22:38, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"USPE" vandalism[edit]

Mr. The Wub

I emailed you about a vandalism problem I am having at USPE.

Why'd you delete the Katie Day article?[edit]

I understand the information was a little sparse, but it was a work-in-progress. Also I realize this information was a bit irrelevant to most people, but to those who live in the La Crosse area, Katie Day is well known and acknowledged by almost all faculty of the three major places of higher education. I'd appreciate it if you'd give an article a chance to materialize rather than snuffing it out at the first instance of existence. Rome nor Wikipedia was build in a day and, in the case of the latter, would never have grown to the massive collection it is today if every admin practiced literary infanticide the way you've done here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Micahh (talkcontribs) 04:08, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Undue Editing[edit]

Hey 'The Wub'....

I didn't realise that when I was editing on the pedia, it actually edited the page for everyone... I was doing it for my own sad amusement! Hopefully it didn't cause any or too much hassle for you! Have to be careful with that! Though it is a good thing for people to be adding their own bits, it's also a good thing that there are people like you to make sure wallys like me don't cause too much bother!!! Sorry!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weesteekyaja (talkcontribs) 22:27, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
