Draft:Shai Azoulay

Thank you very much for reviewing the article about Shai Azoulay. I copy your comments below:

Comment: Comes off overly promotional. Azoulay is probably notable because his work is in the permanent collections at The Israel Museum, but it needs a bit of a rewrite so that it doesn't read like it came off the artist's website. Additionally, I would get rid of most of the Exhibitions section, since it is coming up as a false positive when we check the article for copyright violations. Bkissin (talk) 22:03, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Azoulay is a notable Israeli artist. I edited the text to be what I hope is more appropriate for an encyclopedia. I also edited the exhibition schedule and eliminated some of the more minor exhibitions (in my opinion). I included the list of artists only if it were a duo exhibition.

I look forward to hearing of your comments. Thank you again.

Follow-Up on Declined Draft Article

Hello BKissin. You reviewed my Draft Article on Karl Linder on Oct. 13 and declined to accept it for issues of notability/sourcing. On Oct. 16 I wrote to you with a response addressing the issues you raised, and asking for a reconsideration of your opinion in light of my comments. I have not received a reply and just saw that my original request has been archived by you (archive 9, item 63). I was under the impression that I would receive a reply to my request. Am I mistaken? Perhaps I do not understand the process clearly. Do you need something further from me? Should I move my comments to the article talk page? Do I need to formally re-submit the draft article to obtain a new review? Just trying to understand the process. I am more than willing to do whatever is needed to move this along. Thanks for any clarification you can offer. Historybuff0105 (talk) 19:15, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Draft:High School "Nikola Tesla" (Pančevo)

Hello! Thanks for commenting on my draft. I added more information about the school that was written by independent third-party sources. Vacant0 (talk) 17:19, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi Bikssin, thanks for your comment! I've improved Draft:Cri6 and it has been assessed as GA-class, which makes me happy. Could you please re-review it? Artinnit (talk) 02:28, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi Bkissin. Thanks for reviewing my Bloomingdale article and doing it quickly. Bloomingdale is distinct from Manhattan Valley. If you click on different locations on the Google map at https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8010415,-73.9763492,13z you will see the two neighborhoods identified in different locations. Institutions such as the the local library, elementary school and playground are named "Bloomingdale" rather than Manhattan Valley. If getting the article requires entails clarifying the distinctions between the two neighborhoods, I am happy to do so. And anything else required to improve the piece. Thank you for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fuertebrazos (talkcontribs) 15:16, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Bkissin. Maybe I don't understand how this page works. A week ago I wrote the paragraph above questioning the rejection of my Bloomingdale article, and offering to fix and re-submit it, but I don't see any response. I'm no sure what to do at this point. The article does contain an explanation of the difference between the two neighborhoods - I guess I could re-submit it, but I'm not sure what it needs beyond this explanation. Where could I find a response? Can the decision to reject be appealed, and if so how? FuertebrazosFuertebrazos (talk) 01:05, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Rocca di Manerba del Garda

Hi, we are running a university project Rocca di Manerba del Garda, we have sent our draft for approval. I would like to ask you if you can check it, and give us some suggestions in order to make it approved. Thank you in advance for the time. Milan20MA (talk) 08:27, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Thomas Tayebwa

First, I am not sure what mistake you are saying you made. I looked back through your talk page archive. I have questions and comments about the bot archival process, but that is another question. You observed the gaming of article names with the use and non-use of an initial and diacritics. I notice that there is a history of sockpuppetry (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/UGAWOOD2020 ), and, of course, when there is a history of sockpuppetry, we should be looking for more sockpuppetry. So there are two interrelated issues, one about content, and one about conduct. The content issue is whether there is an article in article space that has notability issues or conflict of interest issues. The conduct issue is whether there are any more sock editors. I just noticed that Ťhomas B. Ťayebwa states that he is a Member of Parliament. I don't know whether that is the national parliament or a state parliament, but it doesn't matter. He satisfies political notability. There may be paid editing, but it should be dealt with by neutralizing the article, not by moving it to draft space. I may take another look later today. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:31, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Hey Robert McClenon, yeah that is exactly the situation I was talking about. I agree that Tayebwa passes NPOL, but there is another Draft:Thomas Tayebwa in draftspace. Should we delete this draft as one made by a sockpuppet and then move the page in mainspace so that it avoids the diacritics? I'll take a look at the existing article, tag it with possible COI and PAID templates, and then see how much I can neutralize. Bkissin (talk) 16:40, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Bot Archival Comment

Your talk page initially looks sparsely populated with old comments from editors of cruddy drafts. Then I looked to see whether you are archiving it, and I see that you are using a bot to archive it. So now what I notice is that there are a few posts to it that appear to be more than a year old that have not been archived. They may not have been archived because they are either not signed or in some other way poorly formatted. That is just an observation about bot archival. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:31, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for looking into this. I'll see what I can do to try and fix this. I had to have someone else help me set up archiving in the first place, so I may not be an expert. Bkissin (talk) 16:40, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello Bkissin. Im sure you are a perfect person in every single way, but you are totally wrong about your copyright claims. LA Music Awards does not write original content and therefore has no copyright claim. Ask them yourself. They copied their info from the artists old press release. Please do your research before you make crazy copyright claims that are incorrect. Im going to resubmit, please have some integrity and stop making false copyright claims. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Puffer Fishman (talkcontribs) 21:40, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Bkissin, Thanks again for taking the Michael F. Roman draft live. I'm not sure if you saw my note here, but I'm seeking clarification if the 'close connection' tag is necessary since I have disclosed my conflict of interest on the article's talk page, as required by the site's Terms of Use, and I've worked to draft neutral text. I'm seeking to remove the banner if there are no neutrality issues and I'm happy to help address concerns. Thanks again! CB at 3M (talk) 14:43, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative

Hello, thank you for the suggestion around the copyright notification. It is information published on a government site, I added additional citations to the subheaders. You mentioned a template, but I want to follow up to see if the added citations will suffice?

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnsones20 (talkcontribs) 19:23, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi Johnsones20! I added the template at the bottom of the page, so that should be good right there. I have a couple notes about the article and I will let another reviewer take a look.
  1. Try not to use external links in the body of the article. If possible, link to the relevant Wikipedia page. Otherwise, just leave it blank.
  2. Tone-wise, it still feels a little... off. It's not advertising or an essay, but still has some promotional elements or puffery to it.
  3. You don't need to add the inline citations in the headings/subheadings. Just put them next to any information you reference from that particular source.
  4. Try to avoid a lot of copying and pasting from sources even if they are US Government sources and therefore public domain. It's definitely better to use our own words whenever possible.
Hope this helps! Bkissin (talk) 19:42, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Declined Draft:Collapse of the Canadian Women's Hockey League

Hi. Thank you for reviewing the Draft:Collapse of the Canadian Women's Hockey League page, however, I've noticed that you've declined the draft, and I'm not sure why. I'm not sure how it can be flagged as insufficient content when there's enough content to be worth dozens of citations and to provide a comprehensive overview of the event. I'm also not sure how it would be possible to merge the draft with the existing CWHL article without creating a mess - the draft is bigger than the CWHL article. The split between the CWHL article and the draft also seems to mirror similar events in hockey history, such as the 2012–13 NHL lockout and the 2012–13 NHL season. Any clarifications/suggestions would be welcome! Cheers, NHCLS (talk) 18:17, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Joseph_R._Houchins

You said that "the Jet and Ebony sources (again, can't verify) aren't really about Houchins specifically"

The Ebony article was specifically about him and his work. I can't find it online but have a digital PDF of it I got from the Emory University Library. Most of the "evidence" is not digital because of the age, such as the Pittsburgh Courier. Much of the information I have came directly from his daughter and also Dr. Jill Watts who wrote a recently released book called "The Black Cabinet". https://www.amazon.com/The-Black-Cabinet/dp/0802129102.

I am not sure what to do for "evidence" with items that are copyrighted, such as the Ebony article, and they charge a lot for a copy. The full title of the Ebony article is 1950 Census Statistical Expert tells what census will reveal about negro advances in decade.

As far as notability, — Preceding unsigned comment added by WorldWanderlust (talkcontribs) 18:47, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

Any suggestions for "evidence" when much of it on microfilm or copyrighted and not online? — Preceding unsigned comment added by WorldWanderlust (talkcontribs) 18:11, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

Hmm... that's a tough one. A cursory google scholar search brings up a few articles by Houchins as well as mentions in others journal articles. I'll see what I can dig up. There's probably a Wikipedia policy on microfilm as a source, I just don't know it.

Again, you are on the right track, I just want to make sure it doesn't have a chance of being deleted. Bkissin (talk) 19:50, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

Draft: Colin Macpherson

Hello Bkissin. You recently 'declined' my draft article about the singer-songwriter and author, Colin Macpherson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Colin_Macpherson) -- the tone of the article seeming to be your main concern. Since then, I have done further reading of guidelines, examined a number of 'feature' articles about other artists, and spent some time chatting with other editors (via Wikipedia Help) about the draft. I now have a few ideas on how to make the tone of the article conform more to the guidelines, but I would greatly appreciate you providing a little more detail on what I need to address -- since it will be you who assesses my resubmission. (This was suggested during a very long chat session). I would like to get it exactly right next time. Regards, Pomegranate Rose. Pomegranate Rose (talk) 07:36, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

Regarding the MSIWPARB rejection

Hey Bkissin! I'm quite new here so either I didn't find the explanation, either there was no explanation. What was the reason to reject the article? The information about the MSIWPARB was abslutely valid, straight from my Maritime Law teacher. That being said, could you explain me what was wrong so I can improve it and resubmit it?

  • edit

I see that the explanation was that it was "not adequately supported by reliable sources". How is it possible that your justification on what is reliable or not, is more founded than an article with actual sources? The book that I cited is not found online because it is destined for the students of the Naval academy that I study. Try to be more objective next time. Don't just reject articles for no reason. I will resubmit it exactly the way I submitted it and hopefully it will be fine this time. If you have any arguement against it, let me know, I will send you a photo of my book where the act is mentioned. Can't do much more than that. 🤷‍♀️

Hi Bkissin. Thank you for taking time to review Draft:Tammy L. Kernodle. In your feedback, you stated "The references in the article should be sources ABOUT her, not BY her." In fact, six of the article's ten references—a majority—are not authored by Kernodle. Could you help me understand how one could adequately satisfy your criterion? I am using the article on Sherrie Tucker as a model; that article has a section listing works written by Tucker. Is it not relevant for Kernodle's article to also list her publications? Would it be acceptable to only list works by Kernodle in the "Selected works" section, and remove the references? My only concern with doing so is that certain references support text in the article. For instance, I support the sentence, "Her writing has highlighted Black women musicians like Mary Lou Williams, Meshell Ndegeocello, Alice Coltrane, and Melba Liston and has considered African American women's role in contemporary gospel music and jazz" with references to the works in which Kernodle does those things, [3][4][5][6].

Thank you for taking time to address my questions.

Gratefully, SyLvRuUz (talk) 22:24, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi SyLvRuUz. I agree with your assessment there, but we also want to make sure that Kernodle passes the general notability guideline and Wikipedia's guidelines for professors/academics. For both of those, we're looking for in-depth coverage in reliable independent sources. I'm in the midst of evaluating each of the sources in the draft. A cursory google news search brings up a few articles (mostly in college newspapers, but still...) that are profiles of Kernodle. I think you're on the right track, but five sentences and blank sections is not a complete article, hence the reason for the decline at this particular moment. I still think it needs more coverage about her, especially in the blank Education and Academic Career sections, but I hope that gives you a better sense of what I mean. Bkissin (talk) 22:51, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi Bkissin. Thanks so much for your helpful response, and for reviewing the sources. I'll follow your advice and resubmit once the article is further fleshed out. I'll also await any comments from JSFarman. Thanks for being patient with a still-green contributor. More anon. SyLvRuUz (talk) 02:07, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Draft submission guidance

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Bart_Cheever

Hi Bkissin. I am a new Wikipedia editor and have been trying to create my first page about a person who founded an early web video startup. You recently kicked the draft back for not being adequately supported by reliable sources. In the article, I cited pieces in the New York Times and Los Angeles Times whose primary focus are my subject and his startup, and specifically their work in online video. I also included pieces where he is significantly mentioned including Wired, BoingBoing, Le Monde, The Stranger, and again, the NY Times. One reason I chose this subject as my first page is it seemed like there is a healthy amount of references.

I’m really sorry if I’m screwing this up somehow - I have spent a couple of hours reading through Wikipedia’s documentation on this, including the Referencing for beginners and Citing sources pages and your own talk pages to see how you have judged other submissions. I feel like I have hit a dead end. Can you give me any clarification on how I can better cite this article? Appreciate any feedback you can give me and the work you do to keep Wikipedia going. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jostall (talkcontribs) 18:16, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I have added one more reference to this article and hope you can review it again! Thanks and cheers! Doc Dimaus (talk|contrib) — Preceding undated comment added 22:41, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

In cleaning this up you left an unencyclopedic note at the top (now removed, and partly actioned). It would also have been useful to add the DEFAULTSORT (done). Thanks. PamD 14:37, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

In cleaning this up you added birth and death categories but not the DEFAULTSORT which makes him file under F rather than J.

There is splendid template: {{L}}, which much be "substituted" when you use it. Here's my "boilerplate" text about it:

There is a very easy way to add the DEFAULTSORT (so the article files by surname in lists), and Category:Living people where appropriate, and any birth or death date category: {{subst:L|1882|1984|Brown, Annie}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Brown, Annie}}, Category:1882 births and Category:1984 deaths, while {{subst:L|||Smith, Jane}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Smith, Jane}}, Category:Living people and Category:Date of birth missing (living people). Lack of death date implies "living" (or you can add "unknown" or "missing" as the death date to suppress this). You get a lot done for a few keystrokes: I think it's a great little template. Happy Editing. PamD 18:10, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi PamD. I appreciate your concern, but those are automated edits from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Helper script. That is what cleans up the articles after I accept them. You are more than welcome to talk to User:FloridaArmy about putting the DEFAULTSORT information in the article before submitting them to AfC. I'm just trying to bring down the article backlog. Regarding the Christian Weston Chandler article

How exactly is he not notable? He's been covered and referenced by PewDiePie, Sega, Harry Partridge, and others. There are multiple videos of him on YouTube with views in the hundreds of thousands and even millions. How is Laz-D notable and not Chris? I have reposted this in case you haven't seen the first one. Hii

Hi today https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deniz_Unay My article has been approved I want to say the following about the article I have been working on this article for more than 4 months I took into account all rejections and also got information and support from editors in wikipedia support chat You can see developments on this subject on the Talk Page In addition, the other day, this article was rejected in the form of a copy, and this error was corrected, now the article has been unfairly deleted. There is no charge for this article I don't know how to defend myself on this issue I also added the best resources about Deniz UNAY, if you look at google searches, dozens of valuable resources can be found. Please don't be so cruel and unfair I hope you can help greetings — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emremer (talkcontribs) 20:06, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Concerns

Hello Bkissin,

As is seen on this page, you have repeatedly failed to respond to other editors who contacted you. Wikipedia is not an individual endeavor, but a collaborative one, and you are expected to respond to those who contact you with concerns. I also have concerns with your approval of a promotional article. Please indicate that you are not operating either a bot or on autopilot by responding directly and appropriately to this message. Seraphimblade Talk to me 12:33, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Which article are you particularly concerned about? Bkissin (talk) 14:48, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
The particular article in this instance was Upper Silesian Museum. When you approved it, it contained promotional wording such as ...thanks to which the collections of the Upper Silesian Museum were enriched..., This unique gift included..., and then unreferenced brochure-type statements such as Archaeology Department of the Upper Silesian Museum has the richest, over 350,000 (16,651 inventory items), collection of archaeological relics concerning the past of Silesia within the area of Upper Silesia, spanning the period from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages., ...which today is quite significant..., ...played a leading role..., and on and on like that. Promotional articles should not be approved and moved to mainspace, and nor should largely unreferenced ones. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:35, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
I'm sorry you feel that way. Regardless of whether AfC reviewers accept or decline an article, we seem to get criticized or WP:ASPERSIONS cast to our conduct. Some of my colleagues in AfC go with the mindset that if a subject passes notability (as the museum was) that it can move out of draftspace and that continuing to decline notable drafts because of unrelated issues is not the role of the Draftspace. In fact, that mindset touches upon your point that Wikipedia is a collaborative endeavor, as NPP and other patrollers can make the relevant changes to the article to clean it up. You'll note that when I realized the article was written by Museum staff, I added a COI tag to make sure that any NPOV language could be taken care of.
On your other point about not responding to users: Wikipedia is not my job. I try to be a firm believer in "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". I'm not going to deal with every non-notable promo draft or undisclosed PAID case who is asking why their article was declined. I have a life (Not much of one, but a life nevertheless). My goal has been to bring down the massive backlog of articles at AfC and to make sure that they are quality contributions to the project. You are more than welcome to bring me to ANI and have my reviewer status revoked if you feel as if I'm not living up to those standards after 15 years on the website. Or, alternatively, you are welcome to join us at AfC and review some of these articles as well. We could always use the help! Otherwise, I think less interaction between the two of us would be a healthy choice, at least until cooler heads prevail. Bkissin (talk) 18:03, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Declined Draft: Contemporary Lynx

Hi Bkissin, thank you for taking the time to review this draft. I would like to know if you think the second link "A hand painted cover for the Contemporary Lynx magazine" is reliable/justifies notability for the page , or whether a new submission would require different sources entirely. Thank you again, Captains224 (talk) 16:13, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

My concern around sources was due to a couple different factors. In order to establish notability, we want sources that are independent of the subject matter. Obviously the website for Contemporary Lynx thinks the magazine is notable, it is the subject of the article! What do other reliable sources have to say about it? Has it had in-depth coverage in those sources (not just press releases or passing mentions). The second link is borderline, but probably doesn't meet the standard. Bkissin (talk) 17:45, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your detailed response. That is good to know. Best, Captains224 (talk) 17:45, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

AFC related discussion

Hello there, regarding your question, as per the notability status I don’t think MUSICBIO bio is satisfied because most of his alleged achievements written in the article that would make him eligible to meet MUSICBIO are substantiated by unreliable sources. Daniel just salted the article & rightfully so, so I’m not even sure how it popped up again, I probably missed something. As for the paid status, I’d say from an objective stance, that given the history of this article (different socks creating and recreating it 6 times now) i’d say it would be a very convenient coincidence that the editor who created the article just coincidentally did so. My opinion would be there’s definitely a COI present.

TL:DR? : This is most likely the work of an inexperienced UPE editor and the subject isn’t notable because only unreliable sources substantiates the achievements written in the article. Celestina007 (talk) 17:26, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Thanks Celestina007! That's just what I needed to put my mind at ease. Usually I'm pretty good about sniffing out UPE and COI, but I also don't want to intentionally delete possible unrepresented content. Bkissin (talk) 17:31, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
I totally understand your point of view. Celestina007 (talk) 17:33, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Luís Raposo (archaeologist)

Dear Bkissin,

The Portuguese and French versions of the article

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luís Raposo (archaeologist)

have been improved, carefully revised and they will stay as they are for some time. I have just adapted the English version to what has been done.

For that reason, dear colleague, please review the draft again. That will take no longer than two or three minutes. I'm sure you won't hesitate to convert this draft into article.

My cordial greetings.

Draft: Morgan & Morgan

Hi Bkissin. The current draft is full of puffery WP:PUFF which you have rightly rejected last year. But it's one of the activism-driven law firms in Florida and also active in my state (North Carolina). I was wondering is it worth enough for attempting an edit for an AfC practice purpose? -Hatchens (talk) 12:37, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Oof, I just reread through it and I don't know. I'm pretty wary about law firms (especially personal injury firms) trying to make a case for notability. I do see where you're coming from with some of the former attorneys on staff and the Community Bail Fund stuff. Unfortunately, I'm thinking it would take a pretty substantial rewrite to be good to submit. If you want to work on it you are more than welcome. That keeps it from G13 deletion. Bkissin (talk) 13:40, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Bkissin, Let me check it out... how much I can neutralize it. I don't have much hope either. - Hatchens (talk) 16:27, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Concern regarding Draft:Čohodari

Information icon Hello, Bkissin. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Čohodari, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

Sally Conforte not written in a formal, neutral encyclopedic tone

Thank you for reviewing my work! I struggle with the encyclopedic tone. I created a personal article that goes to the essence of this person. I'm surprised and disappointed you found issue with that. I would greatly appreciate any editorial help to bring this article into fruition. I have sourced the facts to great extent. I wish to upload to the Commons a marriage certificate to prove when she married Joseph Conforte and Nevada Athletic Commission boxing contracts from the early 1980s to use as proof of Sally's boxing program. Do you foresee an issue with such public records?Owilli2019 (talk) 01:34, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Ben DeLaurentis Notability

Hi Bkissin. Wanted to ask about your declination of my article creation on Ben Delaurentis. You declined for notability reasons, but I included many references to local and national coverage that he has received. That coverage has been "reliable," is "not self-published," and have been entirely independent of the musician. I understand that this musician is not widely known nationally, but is very prevalent and well-known within Central Virginia, and I think the coverage (and citation) reflects that sufficiently enough that it qualifies under #1 of Wikipedia:NMUSIC. If you disagree, could you please clarify why you think otherwise?

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Webbsledge (talkcontribs) 21:36, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Declined Mars G. Fontana article

Please, I spent absolutely ages on this article. I was very careful not to cut and paste. So concerned was I that wrote the following to a very experienced editor. I actually wrote this on his page and got the following reply;

I tried to start an article on this corrosion scientist/engineer Melvin Romanoff but it says a previous article existed but was deleted back in 2015 by you. Wikipedia made the suggestion that I contact the editor who deleted the article before starting a new one. Obviously I am not going to waste effort in creating an article and doing all that work if it is going to get deleted again. Now I understand this is chicken and egg. How do I know it will get deleted again if I have not even started it? Anyway, I am after your advice. I recently wrote an article still waiting for review on Draft:Mars G Fontana another corrosion scientist and engineer. I was going to do a series based on those corrosion scientist/engineers appearing in the wikipedia article Corrosion Engineering. However, the Fontana article was a huge amount of work researching and I would find it soul destroying if something got deleted after a colossal amount of work. Anyway, your advice please if you do not mind. Thanks GRALISTAIR (talk) 21:20, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

The article on Melvin Romanoff was a four-line piece of puffery copy/pasted from https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/MONO/nbsmonograph127.pdf, with no references, with no attempt to fit the article into this Wiki. You are welcome to re-create it in the style of Mars G Fontana draft. Materialscientist (talk) 08:14, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

So I did what was suggested having had high praise from an experienced editor on the Fontana draft. I am pleading for your help. I hate cut and pasting and plagiarism with a passion. I spent a lot of work on this draft and used my own words. If there is any cut and pasting please could you point to where you think I have done that. I am not trying to argue or dispute but if there looks like something is cut and pasted it is pure coincidence - see George Harrison and My Sweet Lord. I just hate plagiarism. I really would appreciate your help - surely the whole damned article does not need rewriting? yours hopefully and respectfully GRALISTAIR (talk) 14:02, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Coordinates

Thanks for adding coordinates to so many articles. If you'd like, you can remove the "map requested" tags on the article Talk pages, once you've added. This way they won't be in the backlog of articles missing coordinates. Thanks and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:13, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

I'll try my best, Another Believer. It seems to be a WikiProject (Cities & Hotels) specific tag, because I just added the coordinates for Milton Keynes & District Reform Synagogue and it didn't have a talk page tag. Bkissin (talk) 18:13, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
Also, you should heed WP:COORDPREC, never more than 5 digits after the decimal point. And if you convert an infobox to one that has a coord parameter, it is likely that many of the other parameters may not match. I just cleaned-up Hotel La Perla which had five unknown parameters. MB 02:51, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
Hi Bkissin. It looks like MB has already done so, but I stopped by to draw your attention to WP:OPCOORD. There should be no reason to have any more than 5 decimals (after the point) in a decimal degrees format. At the 6th decimal point we are down to centimeters. Which is unnecessarily precise for a building or town. 15 decimals would allow for identifying individual grains of sand. Down to the nanometre. Or smaller. Overly precise coordinates can imply that the subject/object is smaller than it is. Please consider the applicable guidelines before directly copying/pasting coords from Google Maps or whatever other source tool you are using. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 19:58, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
While I'm sure you are all correct, there is no need for the pile on! Is there anybody else who has a problem with my attempt to decrease the backlog of articles missing coordinates? I'm going to have to take a step back from being involved in that particular project until I feel like I can be a better participant. Bkissin (talk) 15:23, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Danielle Stella

hi Bkissin, Thanks for reviewing this article. I had picked it out of a list of suggested women's articles. As I was completing it, I started wondering about notability. Since it was almost done, I decided to submit it anyway. I think your conclusion about it was correct. Rogermx (talk) 02:13, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi Rogermx! No worries! Thanks for understanding. Were you looking at the index of suggested articles from Women in Red? There are some good ideas there. A rule of thumb I go with when making articles about politicians is Wikipedia's notability guidelines for politicians. If a woman is a member of a national or state/provincial legislature, she is notable enough for an article. Be happy to ping me on any other drafts you may work on.
