Request on 01:30:10, 14 July 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by InnerOstrich

Hi Krishna, Thanks for having a look at this page. Previous reviewers have declined to post the page due to lack of notability. I resubmitted the page because the subject was recently interviewed on the nationally broadcast PBS television show The Open Mind, which interviews national intellectuals and celebrities on a weekly basis. She was the sole interviewee of the episode. The link to the episode is here: http://www.thirteen.org/openmind/civil-rights/genocide-with-impunity/5473/ . I'm not sure if you saw my note that I added the link to her external sites. Given that the show is national and prestigious, and is an addition to other press she has received (already listed on her page), would she not now qualify as sufficiently notable? Many thanks!InnerOstrich (talk) 01:30, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

InnerOstrich, I took a look at your draft. While it is true that PBS interviewed Koenig, and that certainly counts for something, the only references you have that are not written by Koenig herself are either interviews or use brief soundbites from her (things like "... said Koenig"). While the PBS interview lends itself towards her overall notability, it does not make up for the fact that you simply do not have any truly independent reliable sources that talk about her (not with her). If these can be found and integrated into the draft, it will stand a much better chance upon resubmission. If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 02:39, 14 July 2016 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
Thank you Primefac. @InnerOstrich: I agree with Primefac, it is better you find sources that are independent. KCVelaga ☚╣✉╠☛ 11:43, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Speedy tagging

Hi. Thanks for patrolling new pages, a vital and under-appreciated task, but please don't go over the top with multiple speedy tags - one is usually enough, two may be useful (e.g. copyvio and promotion, so that the author doesn't think giving a copyright release will be enough) but four is definitely too many, and the ones you added to Matrubharti just now were not appropriate. It was already tagged with WP:CSD#A7, which was enough, and I have deleted it under that. You added:

  • WP:CSD#A1 lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article, but the subject was clear: the company Matrubharti Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
  • WP:CSD#A3 no content, but the definition says: "this criterion does not cover a page having only an infobox".
  • WP:CSD#A11, but that is for new words, joke religions or drinking games. This article does not "plainly indicate" that the company "was invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally".

Accurate speedy tagging is important, so that the article author (probably a newbie) understands the problem and can maybe do better next time. You need to read the definitions at WP:CSD#Criteria and, unless you are sure, check with the definition there before you apply a tag. There is general advice at WP:NPP, and particular advice about speedy tagging at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:19, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

India in World War Two

Hi, Thanks for making your suggestions on List of British Empire corps of the Second World War. It made me think, and I revised the entire list to try to make it more legible. I'd appreciate your input on List of British Empire divisions in the Second World War, List of British Empire brigades of the Second World War and List of ships of the Second World War. Wikipedia has so very little about India in the Second World War and I would like to expand it significantly. In particular, If you have any data to add, please do. Just some general template thoughts

In response to the {{help me}} that I responded to the other day, I notice that you have created {{Indian officer ranks}} and placed it on numerous articles. While I can appreciate your dedication towards improving the Indian military history articles, I should caution you about your template creation/use. While templates like {{Destroyers of the Indian Navy}} are useful for navigating between the various ships of the fleet, {{Indian officer ranks}} does not actually link between Indian officer ranks; it merely provides Wikilinks to the generic title (with the exception of Field Marshal). Thus, the template provides no additional or useful information.

Going forward I encourage you to think about navigation templates and how they can best be utilized. I don't know if there are better links to provide for your ranks template, but if not it will probably be deleted. I am always happy to answer any questions (or give advice) on templates and their creation, so feel free to drop me a note on my talk page or just reply here (ping me with {{u|Primefac}}). Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:14, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
Dodger67, this was actually a bit of unnecessary disambiguation, since Surinder Pal was already acting as a redirect/dab page itself. I've had the pages moved around so that the original Surinder Pal page is the DAB page (and I've cleaned up a few of the incoming links).
As a note to Krishna, disambiguation like what you did with Surendra Pal is unnecessary: if there's only one person with that name, adding things like (actor) after the name are unncessary. Primefac (talk) 18:10, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

09:44:47, 2 August 2016 review of submission by F.Charlotte

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your attention. I am sorry that you had to reject my first draft, because it was not right. I hope to have understood your indications. I am a university professor and therefore I have been very careful to what you have written to me. Thank You. I have changed my text so that it is more understandable and simple. I removed several sentences. I added the references which were useful to prove the truthfulness of my text. In order to avoid English language mistakes, I asked to review my text to a colleague of mine in London, who works as a translator at the Houses of Parliament. I hope that now, my second draft goes well and I thank you for your attention. I specify that I belong to the artist's family, through my Mother, and that the data I wrote have been (all) verified through the documentation we possess. With Best Regards, F. CHARLOTTE Charlotte du Marais (F. Charlotte Orazie Vallino)

@F.Charlotte: Thanks for improving the article. It is very well written. But there is an issue with the references. AS WP:REF there references must be verifiable i.e the reviewers are ought to have access to the cited sources. But as I can see, most of the references you have provided are a accessible. Please provide links to them and if not possible get them verified by an OTRS request. You can request it at WP:OTRS. Regards, KC Velaga 09:59, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello KC97, unfortunately what you have written here is not correct. Sources do not need to be accessible online for them to be used in referencing a Wikipedia article or even proving the notability of a topic. You can learn more about this at WP:SOURCEACCESS. Then please go back and read WP:BEFORE, WP:NPP, WP:DELETION, and WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. I know it's a lot to learn but it's the only way to do the job properly. DYK for Jasbir Walia

On 19 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jasbir Walia, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Indian Air Marshal Jasbir Walia served as a qualified flying instructor, a pilot attack instructor, and a fighter combat leader? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jasbir Walia. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Jasbir Walia), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion VikkyVarun

HI, We have added proper references about that Vikky_Varun artist in Wiki page. Could you please let us know ,those references are fine. So that it will stop the article from deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prasadz (talkcontribs) 13:27, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

@Prasadz: The references are good and independent. But I think still the article will be in favour of being deleted. Because it implies WP:ARTIST and WP:TOOSOON. The subject is expected to have done a significant role in atleast two movies which articles have their own articles on Wikipedia. A similar case was of Satna Titus, the result was delete. Hi Krishna Chaitanya Velaga. I have declined your nominations of National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development and U.P. Naming Mahal for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A11. Hi, could you complete the cleanup, or reverse your closure at All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace? You've left the base name pointing at All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace (disambiguation), and the dab page and incoming links haven't been cleaned up. Thanks,--Cúchullain t/c 11:05, 13 September 2016 (UTC)

@Cuchullain: I didn't get you, are you talking about the requested move discussion? What do you want me to do? I move the book to name suffixed with "(collection)" as per your comments. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 12:19, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
You've left the base name All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace redirecting to All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace (disambiguation). If the base name is meant to be disambiguation, you need to move the dab page to All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace. As per WP:RMNAC, you can use the template {{db-move|1=PAGE TO BE MOVED HERE|2=REASON FOR MOVE}} to facilitate the move. You also need to fix incoming links and redirects to make sure they're pointing to the right places, and clean up the dab page. For instance, the dab page still linked to the collection as All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace rather than All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace (collection), meaning readers wouldn't be able to find the collection from there. See my edit for the cleanup I'm talking about.--Cúchullain t/c 13:00, 13 September 2016 (UTC)

Ok.. But why? Stfg VarunFEB2003 14:38, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

() All right. Because you turned the lead sentence into a hatnote, when it had no reason to be one; because you have left the table headings with both style="text-align:left; ... and <div style="text-align: center;">...</div>, and because you didn't touch the prose. For example, the fourth sentence of the article reads: "Though the Maratha Navy, the naval wing of the armed forces of Maratha Empire, used Grabs and Gallivats to portray their naval power,[2] the concept frigates or sloops[a] was introduced by the British." Do you think the phrase "the concept frigates or sloops" says what it means? I'm sorry Varun, I really don't mean to be unkind, but I assure you that you are not ready to service the GOCE requests page. By all means tackle articles in the copy editing backlog, but the requests are made by people who have put a lot of work into their articles, and they deserve experienced copy editors. --Stfg (talk) 15:07, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

"Nonsense" speedy tag

Thanks for patrolling new pages, but please be careful about use of WP:CSD#G1 patent nonsense. The definition of G1 specifically excludes "poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, implausible theories, vandalism or hoaxes, fictional material, coherent non-English material, or poorly translated material." It is intended only for things like "7%#@tX#qq%*;]#" or "Yayyyyy LOL!!!!!!"

Kahanen konpentsazio algoritmoa just now was in Basque, and I have deleted it under WP:CSD#A10 because its subject is already covered in an existing article; but it was not nonsense, and its author might well feel insulted to see it labelled as such. For that reason, I deleted your warning from his talk page, and left a message telling him about the Basque Wikipedia. Requested moves

Hi Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, just FYI, if you close a Requested move as Moved, and are unable to move it because of an unmovable redirect in the way, a {{db-move}} is probably not the fastest way to get the page moved (as in your nomination for the page Soylent (drink)). In many cases, page movers will be able to handle the move as a technical request. Instead of {{db-move}}, post at WP:RMT citing the RM discussion close. Thanks — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 23:05, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, post here, or just let me know. Thank you, and happy editing! Swarm 19:24, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Deletion sorting

Hello, Krishna. I noticed that you did a bit of deletion sorting recently. Thank you for your efforts. However, I noticed that in several cases you sorted some of the nominations under both the "People" list and one of its sub-lists (e.g., "Actors", "Politicians", etc.). The instructions at WP:WikiProject Deletion sorting/People ask us to not do that. Instead, they ask that those nominations be listed only under the most specific list. I removed the "Peoples" listings that I came across, so the purpose of this message is simply to point out those instructions.

Also, although not listed in its instructions, it is common practice at Deletion Sorting to not list a nomination under both the "United States" list and one of the individual state lists. Here, too, the common practice is to list only under the most specific list.

Thanks again for your efforts. I hope this was helpful. NewYorkActuary (talk) 07:04, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

@NewYorkActuary:  Thanks for clarifying. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 10:12, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

AfD nominations

KC Velaga, greetings. I noticed the "AfD nominations" section of your userpage, and I was a little bit concerned by the fact that you are marking your nominations as "successes" or "failures." With content creation, keeping such a record is not really a problem: all of us are trying to improve as much content as we can. With AfD, though, the intent is somewhat different: sending an article to AfD should be an attempt to thoroughly determine notability in a borderline case, not an attempt to delete as many articles as possible. A good-faith nomination of a borderline-notable topic that was closed "keep" is still a good thing for Wikipedia, because it brought scrutiny, and possibly improvements, to that article. So, I would suggest not labeling your statistics in that manner, because it might give the impression that you are tracking down and nominating articles just to have a higher "kill rate". If you want to keep a list for your own reference that would help you understand the guidelines better, that would not be a problem. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 03:49, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

macOS

Hi, why did you move this article macOS? You didn't give a reason in your summary. As I said in my oppose vote near the bottom, we should wait until common usage in reliable sources predominantly uses the new name. Most of those supporting used "official name" as their reason, which is not valid per WP:OFFICIALNAME, so I don't think it should have been moved. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 13:55, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

@Amakuru: There is more consensus to move. And it is also the common name. If you have any contradiction with my closure, please list at the move review accordingly. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 14:34, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
I'm asking you why you moved it, this is not a move review. You haven't put a closing summary on the top of the closure, you just said "moved" with no other explanation. There is no evidence that common name has changed for this. Like I said before, the rationale given was "official name", which is not how we title our articles. How were you persuaded that common name has changed? Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 14:59, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
@Amakuru: I moved it since there is more consensus in support of it. Most of the people (including myself) know the OS as macOS not OS X. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 00:22, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

As an uninvolved editor/talk page stalker, I thought I would weigh in. Krishna, I don't see that you did anything wrong; The consensus is for moving the page, despite the opposition makes some valid points, and in any case they're always welcome to request a review. However, Amakuru has also made some valid points above, which I hope you will take forward to future page move closes.

  • First (especially as a NAC), you should give your rationale for anything other than unanimous (or nearly) !votes. This will (hopefully) cut down on the number of questions you get asked after the fact, but (more importantly) will give some evidence that you weren't just counting !votes.
  • Second, be wary of a SUPERVOTE; it doesn't look like you did it this time, but it's often tempting to go with a side simply because you agree with them.

All in all, you're bound to receive comment from someone at some point, and I'm glad to see that so far you've handled such situations with tact. Primefac (talk) 01:51, 28 September 2016 (UTC) (talk page stalker)

@Primefac: @Amakuru: Thanks for detailing me. Will take care of this in future. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 12:16, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Krishna Chaitanya Velaga and Primefac. There is no need for a move review, I just wanted to clarify the position, and I think Primefac's advice will be very useful for you. For what it's worth, when I'm closing move requests, if I think they're fairly clear cut, I just fill it in as "Moved", as you did, but then if someone later questions me on why I made that decision, I'll go back and have another look, and then fill in a more lengthy close summary. To be honest, you're right, this is a good close - the weight of numbers is for support, and it's clear that quite a number of sources do support the assertion that it's common name now. Do be careful not to only vote count when closing though. The strength of arguments is still important even when there appears to be a much larger number of !votes in one direction or the other. WP:CONSENSUS and WP:NOTVOTE and WP:RMCI all tell us to consider policy and guidelines as well as voter numbers when closing. Thanks and have a nice day!  — Amakuru (talk) 12:49, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Mass PRODs

You are aware that your recent mass nomination of caste/clan articles at AfD was procedurally closed because there were simply too many articles to deal with in the week that a discussion usually runs. You're probably also aware that it was mentioned at WT:INB. Please, then, explain why you think it is acceptable to undertake a similar exercise using the PROD mechanism. It is likely still going to be the same few people, such as me and Uanfala, who will be burdened by this swamping. I think you need to slow down. A lot. - Sitush (talk) 10:24, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

I agree with Sitush. If you manage to prod several articles per minute, chances are that it's a bit unlikely you've had the time to look for sources and gauge the notability. Doing your due diligence per WP:BEFORE takes time. Noting that this isn't the first bout of mass prod nominations. – Uanfala (talk) 11:01, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
@Sitush and Uanfala: PROD gives us a period of seven days, an admin who deletes the uncontested PROD after the grace period of 7 days completes doesn't just delete the page because it is not contested. WP:PROD cites — If you decide to delete the article, provide an informative deletion reason, such as that given by the nominator or editor who clarified the nominator's reason – not just "expired prod" — so I feel that an admin has enough knowledge about the policies, and will take of the article's existence. I see it very clearly that there is no guideline that prevents the editors from mass prod /csd nominations. Uanfala noted that this isn't my first bout of mass prod nominations, yes I completely accept that, and you can see that most my nominations were accepted i.e the pages were deleted. As far as I am concerned, and as you can see, at least ninety-percent of the articles that belong to Category:Jat clans, or it sub or related categories, are completely rubbish. Most of the them are about a couple of lines with no references at all, and in some cases they have about one to two unreliable citations. So I wish clean them up as far as possible. I want to make it clear that I am not against clan /ethnic groups, but per the notability guidelines and Wiki policies to my knowledge. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 11:19, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
Well, I think I may de-PROD every one of them later today. It is ridiculous: the closing admin can't check for sources etc per WP:INVOLVED, so it's a bit of a red herring to suggest that the admin might do something other than delete an uncontested nomination. I don't have time to formally contest them all but I can de-PROD them all, pending someone doing a proper WP:BEFORE. You keep saying that the Jat clan stuff is well-nigh useless, unsourced etc but I've found some that in fact were verifiable and easily so. - Sitush (talk) 11:28, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
Oh, you also need to be aware that there is such a thing as disruptive editing. It doesn't need a specific policy relating to deletions, for example, for you to be sanctioned for this type of behaviour. - Sitush (talk) 11:29, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
@Sitush: You may continue with your actions (de-PROD), and I may with mine. I am not against that. I did not say the all the Jat clan stuff is is useless, but most of them are. Some of them do pass WP:GNG, and most them do not the very basics of GNG. How can this be disruptive? It is a clean-up, of the most unwanted stuff. As you can see my logs most my previous nominations (AfDs, PRODs, or CSDs) of these clan related articles were successful. So it means that they need to be deleted. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 11:35, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
So, you're happy just to create work for me and the very few others who regularly patrol these articles? Most of your prior mass nominations were simply accepted because the likes of me didn't have time to check the stuff. How about that for an alternate viewpoint (and true, in my case). - Sitush (talk) 11:37, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
@Sitush: Please don't misunderstand. I don't want to be a trouble maker to you or any editor. I just want to clean them up. A page is deleted by an admin, and I think that an admin is well aware of the sources reliability and notability guidelines and checks them before they are deleted. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 11:41, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
There is no rush to clean them up, no need to mass nominate. That is what you were told at the AfD and to do the same thing with the PROD system looks like WP:IDHT, even if it isn't. Please slow down. - Sitush (talk) 11:50, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
@Sitush: No worries, take your time. I will slowly progress through the clean-up. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 11:52, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

(tps) I don't understand the problem. If they are PRODable, why not do so? Why are you have to look through them Sitush? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:26, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Kautilya3, how do you find if they're proddable? You go and search for sources and if after some work you find out that there isn't enough substantial coverage, then you propose it for deletion. What you don't do is go around and prod twenty articles in one go "because jat clan". – Uanfala (talk) 00:31, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
I just found out there's an essay about that: Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not Whac-A-Mole. – Uanfala (talk) 00:32, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
PROD is not about sources. It is about content. It is also a challenge. It can be responded to. If there is nobody responding, and it is truly a junk page, let it be gone. If it is important, somebody will create it again.
I think the relevant issue is whether Krishna is being properly discriminating in doing his PRODs. So please do give him feedback on that. Otherwise, I don't see why it is your job or Sitush's job to review the nominations. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 07:52, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
PROD, like most other forms of content deletion is all about sources. I think this whole thread here is giving him that feedback – I don't see he's been discriminating at all, let alone doing so properly. – Uanfala (talk) 08:25, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
@Uanfala and Kautilya3: I and Sitush have already agreed on this. In view of civility for Sitush I have agreed to slow down. Actually as I have mentioned before, most of the Jat clans articles are to be deleted, but not all. Sitush has comprehensive knowledge about the ethnic groups related articles. So I'll go at a comfortable rate of deletion nominations for all of us. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 11:16, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:01, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

AFD

Hi, All AFDs need to stay open for 7 whole days - not 6 nor 5 but 7 so please be careful,
Closing AFDS early can and will get you blocked,
If you go to WP:AFD, On the right hand side you'll see "Articles" and then underneath "Closing" - Click that and close them there only,
Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 01:05, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

@Davey2010: Thanks Davey, for letting me know. Will take care of that in future. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 02:03, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Jadunath Singh

The article Jadunath Singh you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Jadunath Singh for things which need to be addressed. Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

Stop

You really do have to stop this deletion campaign. For example, your comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lohia (caste) is another example of your ludicrous copy/paste mentality. Regardless of the merits of the article, it does not mention the word Jat - you're just trotting out the same rationale time and again. Either stop and find something else to do or face a trip to WP:ANI. I don't care how many "successful" deletions you have achieved - it is obvious that you're going about this in the wrong way. - Sitush (talk) 22:21, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

BTW, you may have noticed that I have not been around much the last few days. That is entirely due to your efforts: I'm exhausted just trying to cope with them and now so frustrated that I simply cannot be arsed looking at Wikipedia for more than a few minutes. - Sitush (talk) 22:23, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

@Sitush: Why do you get so connected to the issue? You need not hold the responsibility of the articles. If you wish, may contest the PROD, or cast your vote at the XfD. It is well known that the article will be deleted not that I nominate it, but discussed, and the consensus is that the article must deleted. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 02:44, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Um... Krishna, that's not the main point Sitush is trying to make. Their point is that your rationale for deleting the page makes no sense, and that you should be more careful when you !vote on AFDs. I have no stake in the matter one way or another (though I think bad pages should be deleted), but I do agree that generic/incorrect votes are improper in deletion discussions. Primefac (talk) 02:57, 25 October 2016 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
Indeed, Primefac. And see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sehrawat (clan) + Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Panjeta (2nd nomination) for other recent examples of sloppy nominations, among many. We all make mistakes but the sheer volume of these poorly considered nominations concerns me, as noted also in a prior thread on this page recently. - Sitush (talk) 05:50, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Rama Raghoba Rane

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Rama Raghoba Rane you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Zawed -- Zawed (talk) 10:00, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

2nd West Virginia Cavalry comment

(Could not figure out the code to "ping".) Thank you for considering a review of the 2nd West Virginia Cavalry Regiment. Please check with the WikiProject Military coordinators, I would rather go with their opinions because of their experience. I brought up length in the Peer Review. I have not heard of any regiment pages being split. I would rather shorten it, if necessary, than split it. The Shenandoah Valley sections would be the most logical places where some of the extra detail could be removed. TwoScars (talk)

@TwoScars: I need to definitely apologize on this. Actually just when I was just skimming through the article for the first time I thought it was a bit lengthy, and posted a message on your talk page. But later when I've checked through the other FAs especially relating to military units and formations (for example, 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar (1st Croatian)). Now, there is no need to trim the article. Until the content is reliably cited, it can be kept. I will take up the review within two to three days, and will review it section by section. That is something like each day I will review 3 to 4 sections depending upon my time convenience. Once these are addressed I'll review the next. In all, it can patched up within 7–10 days. If this is okay for you, I'll take up the review. For details about the ping template, see the documentations of {{ping}}, {{u}} and {{re}}. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 02:40, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
@Krishna Chaitanya Velaga:Sounds good to me. If it takes longer, that is OK too. I work full time, so I might not be able to do short responses during the week. TwoScars (talk) 21:29, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
I may have caught up with your comments. There are a few where I want to get more opinion from you before I make a change. TwoScars (talk) 02:21, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup

Greetings, all!

We would like to announce the start of the 4th GA Cup, a competition that seeks to encourage the reviewing of Good article nominations! Thus far, there have been three GA Cups, which were successful in reaching our goals of significantly reducing the traditionally long queue at GAN, so we're doing it again. Currently, there are over 400 nominations listed. We hope that we can again make an impact this time.

The 4th GA Cup will begin on November 1, 2016. Four rounds are currently scheduled (which will bring the competition to a close on February 28, 2017), but this may change based on participant numbers. We may take a break in December for the holidays, depending on the results of a poll of our participants taken shortly after the competition begins. The sign-up and submissions process will remain the same, as will the scoring.

Sign-ups for the upcoming competition are currently open and will close on November 14, 2016. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors, so sign-up now!

If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the judges.

Cheers from 3family6, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase. We apologize for the delay in sending out this message until after the competition has started. Thank you to Krishna Chaitanya Velaga for aiding in getting this message out.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Hi there, I'm not sure why you added Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Asia to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alderland Centre? The Arderland Centre is in Canada. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:30, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

@Magnolia677: Because it is an Asian centre. I mean it contains elements related to Asia. For example, the Beijing Roast Duck Restaurant, Chinese Restaurant, etc. are about the Asia community. So it is someway related to Asia. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 01:40, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
So because there's a couple of Chinese restaurants in this strip mall in suburban Toronto, Canada, you added it to the Asian Wikiproject? That's too funny! Magnolia677 (talk) 02:24, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
@Magnolia677: It is related to Asia. The lead says "Asian Canadian commercial plaza". So I did it. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 02:30, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Khatuna Milorava

Thank you for your editing Khatuna Milorava page. I don't want Khatuna Milorava to be deleted, and I add a reference to the article. You write right: She is not a notable filmmaker. Because, she doesn't work at cinema, she is only a theatrical director. And at her there is rewarding theatrical performances in St. Petersburg... Best, Magularia (talk) 19:16, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
