your edit to kinetic exclusion assay

hi Theroadislong, On Sept 27 2021 you removed the history paragraph from the kinetic exclusion assay page and added a flag that it may have been edited by an undisclosed paid contributer. I have disclosed that I am a paid contributer and I have done my best to meet wikipedias standards for a neutral viewpoint. What do I need to do for you to feel right about removing the tag? Also, the brief history that was there was correct and seemed neutral to me, why did you remove it? I want to put it back but I also want to understand what problem you have with it. Thanks in advance.

tomofidaho Tomofidabio (talk) 14:15, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

The history section was unsourced and your user page has no disclosure of paid editing on it, you should NOT be editing the article at all and should using the request edit system on the article's talk page. Theroadislong (talk) 14:21, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Revised Wikipedia article

Dear Theroadislong,

it's been about 5 months since our Wikipedia article has been rejected.

Therefore we have revised it and rendered the content to be conform in Wikipedia's ethos and purpose.

Could you please review it and see if you could release it?

Thank you, Dimitris Dcontu (talk) 18:13, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Sorry but it still doesn't seem to me, be appropriate content for a Wikipedia article, you can ask for other opinions here Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk though. Theroadislong (talk) 19:18, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Tony Mitton

Hello in the section you say is unsourced I said "source as above". Would it be better to repeat the ref tag fro the previous section? thanks david Dz3 (talk) 08:40, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

Can you please check this page and let me know if there is any issue?

Brattstrom Draft

Hello -

I saw your comment concerning my initial submission and wanted to explain that I am aware of the errors that you cited. I am in the process of revising the entire article, including providing all required secondary sources. I am now a month into that process and the revised article is greatly improved over the initial. In your opinion, should I revise the draft as I go, or replace the initial with the finished revision? As you can tell, I am very new to Wikipedia, but I'm gradually learning its rules. Any suggestions you may offer will be appreciated. Thank you for your input. DINOMICK (talk) 22:49, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Draft:AirSlate

Hello Theroadislong,

Thank you for checking my Draft:AirSlate. I have thoroughly reviewed and corrected the issues that you've pointed out in terms of sources, additionally I removed the section that read like an adv. along with making other necessary edits.

Unfortunately upon resubmitting my draft was declined again due to the same reason.

Can you please assist in reviewing the entry and advise me what what should be rewritten or removed based on your expertise?

Thanks in advance! Veroni4ka.Lime (talk) 09:26, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

David Paulides section changes

Thank you for undoing the YouTube entries. My main question is - The Wikipedia webpage shows (at the bottom) that there are two films but at the top it says "a film". Shouldn't one or the other be corrected? (i.e. : Should "a film" be changed to "two films"? Or should the second film be erased from the webpage?) Thanks for answering in advance.Markem (talk) 18:19, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

You reverted Bezau

Dear Theroadislong, you just reverted the page Bezau respecively the changes I made there. You can see for example on this independent source: https://www.bezau.at/leben/bildung/schulen/wirtschaftsschulen and on a lot of other sources or simply on the school page, that the information I changed were correct and the old one is outdated. Anyway, as there were problems with you about another page, I leave it to you to stick with the wrong information (to which you reverted) or take your revert back. I can not spend more time on this issue. If you want to see it: proof is there, that the information I provided are correct. Best Byteutates (talk) 18:37, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

You are free to add the info back using the reliable source, but your original edit had no source. Theroadislong (talk) 18:40, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
  • As you can see, there was no source before as well.
  • I provided the above mentioned source for the school page (among other sources) and it "was not enough as well". So, why should it be enough now? If it would - why was it not for the school page? Sorry, all this makes no sense to me. As I mentioned: either you are interested in having a correct page and finding the truth or not. If yes, you have the source now and you should know, that my changes were correct.
And yes, also this page had this independent reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Bezau_Business_Schools&oldid=1101709116 (among other references)
  • Let's close this. You seem to be a nice guy, but I can completely not understand how you guys reacted here and why a page about a public school can not go online and how it was marked as "advertisement". To rely on primary information is normal and ideal, as secondary information rely on primary information and there might be mistaces, when somebody copied the information from the primary ones. You probably know the game "telephone", where a child is saying a word to another one (very silently) and that one to the next. In the end you end up with a totally other word. That is why you want to rely on the primary source! So why you can not trust a public school page for information will be always a mystery for me. Anyway, thank you for your time and wish you a nice evening! Byteutates (talk) 18:53, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
You have misunderstood how Wikipedia works. Wikipedia has no interest in "truth" Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic. We hardly use primary sources at all except for the most basic facts. Theroadislong (talk) 19:06, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
It seems to me, that what you write is not correct.
Let me show you with an example, that Wikipedia is using primary sources a lot: Go to page Edinburgh and check, where Wiki takes the information about the population. Guess what - yes, this is a primary source and you do not rely on a newspaper article, which prints the numbers of the population and has them from the primary source, but you use the primary source - which makes totally sense! You find also a lot of other examples, where primary sources are used. I explained to you, why you want to use primary sources (if you can and it makes sense). Did my explanation not make sense to you? You may want to refer to science, where you want to use primary sources. Obviously, to make your statement stronger, you may as well rely on other sources as well etc., but you would not use secondary data, when you can have primary data!
If Wikipedia has no interest in "truth" (we probably have different understanding here what truth is) - well then there is a problem, don't you think so / or you really think it is "good" to have a page, where you have independent sources, which show you something is that way and you leave it the other way? For example: you "know" (based on the independent source I provided to you, respectively I provided in the school page (or do you have other sources, which show, that you are correct?) that the information you reverted to in the page Bezau are not correct (you also did not mention anything about my comment, that the information you reverted to has no citation at all and just ignored my comment here).
So if you have no interest in having a page with correct information - well, then - at least I would say - there is a problem here. Anyway, you seem to be fine with knowing that a page you reverted to is incorrect (based on the sources at hand - again, if you have other sources fine, but so far it seems you have none and I already provided you with several (also in the school page); please don't explain me here again, that I can change it again, as I already did and asked you already - which you ignored - why the provided source should be ok here and was not on the other page) - so be it. Byteutates (talk) 19:41, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
Please ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse for further guidance, you have clearly miss-understood the situation and have no confidence in what I am saying. Theroadislong (talk) 20:12, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
Dear Theroadislong, it would have been nice, if you could have answered my questions or have said something about my arguments, instead of just writting, that others miss-understood something -> what / why etc. and sorry, that is a lame way to end something? You may not see it that way, but I do try to see your points and relate to them, whereas for me it seems, that you do totally not want to see my arguments / points and I get no answer from you about my points. Anyway: have a good night! Best Byteutates (talk) 20:23, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

It's not advertisement. It includes info from reliable sources.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Polium_One includes information from reliable sources like Yahoo. It includes the criticism. 82.16.147.103 (talk) 09:06, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Mahmoud Shehabi Khorassani

Hello, Theroadislong, yes,You are right, I resubmited this draft without change because after a conversation (see below) with Missvain, She asks me to resubmit again, because my sources are solid and in the Wikipedia standard.Best regards

Hi, Missvain, Thank you for comments on this draft. I'm trying to determine why citations, for example: This book :

[Biography, scientific and cultural services of the late Professor Mahmoud Shehabi Khorasani, Association of Cultural Works and Honors.

Or, this article written in one of IRAN’s largest national and quotidian newspapers:

[Mahmoud Shehabi by Ali Najafi and Jalal Rafi: Ettelaat newspaper, national edition, Wednesday, August 23, 2009, Tehran, Iran [ https://www.ettelaat.com/?p=450768 ],

Or, another publication in the same journal : [Commemoration of the late Professor Mahmoud Shehabi: Ettelaat newspaper, national edition, Saturday, January 21, 2017, Tehran, Iran [ https://www.ettelaat.com/mobile/?p=131706&device=phone ]

Or, these important literary magazine of Iran likes:

Mehrnameh Magazine No. 48 August 2016, Pages 90 to 106, Tehran, Iran.

or Interview with Dr. Ali Akbar Shahabi: Kayhan Farhangi magazine, 4th of July 1987, page 5, Teheran, Iran.

and other mainstream sources fail to meet citation guidelines in this case.

So,I would ask you if possible to reconsider your judgment concerning this Draft Thanks Docteur Mansour Chehabi (talk) 08:33, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

@Docteur Mansour Chehabi - Feel free to resubmit for reviewers to take a look at! Missvain (talk) 14:50, 1 August 2022 (UTC) Docteur Mansour Chehabi (talk) 15:51, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

Request on 17:14:04, 2 August 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by 131.215.220.163

My article on Impagliazzo's Five Worlds was rejected. I understand that the subject it covers is fairly specific and derives primarily from one reference, nevertheless, the topic it covers is widely used in research (e.g. [1], [2], [3] to list just three). In fact, the reason I created the page was because I found it ridiculous that Wikipedia didn't have a page on it!

[1] https://eprint.iacr.org/2019/108.pdf [2] https://arxiv.org/abs/2204.02063 [3] https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/11761679_20

Could you please help me in proceeding with the submission? I could add it to the main page on cryptography (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptography) but the topic feels a bit more specific. Regardless, it should be there somewhere on Wikipedia. I appreciate your help in the matter.

131.215.220.163 (talk) 17:14, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

Your draft was declined, not rejected, (rejected would mean there was no hope) the references don't show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article they don't show significant coverage about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. If there are no more sources, then that indicates that we can't have an article about the topic. You could ask at the talk page of Cryptography but even there it will require independent reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 18:13, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for taking the time and answering! The concept of "minicrypt" and "cryptomania" is widely used in research articles on cryptography (of which I mentioned three but I'm guessing there are hundreds if not more). So it is certainly covered in independent sources although I am not sure how to clarify/emphasise this. Should I just add a bunch of references where the terms are used? This is perhaps a more general question anyway because I often find many things missing from Wikipedia which are of this nature, so knowing how to remedy the situation would help in general.
I am sorry for my ignorance and appreciate you indulging my silly questions. As for the article, I was anyway planning to add more details over time but I was hoping it could be a stub article to begin with and people could potentially collaboratively add material. Hello, Theroadislong,

This article was created in 2006 and so moving it to Draft space after 16 years was an inappropriate move and has been reverted. Please only move recently created articles from main space to Draft space. The editor who moved it back to main space referred to this Village Pump proposal from earlier this year as an explanation for their reversion. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:49, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Help Review a new article

Hello Theroadislong, I have created a new article some days ago and it has be auto patrolled but it has not been review by a new page review, The page is DJ Kelblizz (Disc jockey). I think you will be kind enough to assist with the review process, thanks Favouredprince (talk) 21:58, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

I suggest you use the WP:AFC process next time, your article was speedy deleted as not notable. Theroadislong (talk) 08:15, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022

New Page Review queue August 2022

Hello Theroadislong,

Backlog status

After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.

Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

Coordination
MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
Open letter to the WMF
The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
TIP - Reviewing by subject
Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
New reviewers
The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Draft on Pi and Euler's number in the Bible

Hi Theroadis,

Thank you for your comment on this draft. I shall explain the reason that I included this source.

The article features a computational phenomenen in the Bible. When citing secondary sources, I am leading people to places that discuss the phenomenon (i.e. the computation which can be found on the wordpress blog). However, I thought it appropriate to also include a link to the actual calculation. That way, people can more easily verify the outcomes.

According to the following page, it is sometimes allowed to cite primary sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Identifying_and_using_primary_sources#Primary_sources_should_be_used_carefully

However, maybe I am interpreting it in the wrong way. So should I include this primary source or not? Panoramics (talk) 11:31, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

You are free to include it, but as an unreliable source it doesn't help convince a reviewer that your topic is notable. Theroadislong (talk) 11:41, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

William Griffith Trethewey

I believe you held this new page to a standard that is higher than is used for existing pages. Take for example the page for Alfred Jackson Billes, the co-founder of Canadian Tire, which has no citations and only two sources neither of which are available online. Or the page for Ryland H. New, a businessman and horse breeder, his page has no citations and only two sources. Or the page for James Boylen, another Canadian miner who has one citation and one reference. I know it's not your job to bring all of Wikipedia up to a better standard but I think I provided sufficient sources and I don't think adding "Old Time Trains" improved the page. Mikeloader (talk) 16:35, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

That other poor quality articles exist is not a good argument. I am happy to accept your draft still. Theroadislong (talk) 16:43, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Mikeloader I have tagged those articles for you, they all require better sourcing and were created before the WP:AFC process started. Theroadislong (talk) 16:48, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

I would decline it again, it still reads as blatant advertising, it is hard to believe that you have no connection to this company. "Direct secondary market is still in a development phase and it is following the same trend as the LP stake market with similar penetration rate. Considering the combined value of all Unicorns companies and applying a 1% penetration rate, direct secondary market size in 2021 is estimated to be around $30B." for example is unsourced pure promotional marketing speak. Draft declined in seconds after submission

Hi, you declined the Draft:Israel Canada so quickly, why?

Did you review the article? What was wrong with it, it's not written as an advertisment it has refrences (I worked a couple of hours improving previous draft and adding refrences and more content).

It’s within the scope of wikiproject Israel, it is a TA 125 index company (one of the few that does not have an article), and one of the largest real estate companies in Israel - which is more than notable.

The sources are from TheMarker, Globes, Times of Israel, Calcalist - those are the largest Israeli news outlets in English - not bias in any way.

The company is on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange website, and on Wall street Journal - again, not bias.

If you can assist, then please provide with some suggestions on improvement. Maorkap3 (talk) 11:27, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

It reads like it was “paid for” as indeed it was. This source [1] doesn’t mention the company so cannot verify the comment that “Israel Canada is the main real estate developer in Tzamarot Ayalon” the statement that “the second largest stakeholder (14%) in Alrov” is not sourced. See WP:Identifying blatant advertising, the sources are mostly company profiles. Theroadislong (talk) 12:36, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
Also, some of these sources may be notable to you, but for most of the world, they are obscure. The trick is to put a live wikilink to the article about a publication, inside the first reference that cites it. (And if there is no Wikipedia article about that "major outlet", that's a bad sign in and of itself.) You should also work on your spelling and grammar: "references", not "refrences"; "bias" ≠ "biased"; etc. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:01, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

I promise you that these are reputable sources. TheMarker, Globes, and Calcalist all have Wikipedia articles (in English). I appreciate your comments. Do you think I would make up that Israel Canada owns 14% of Alrov? This was reported nationwide in Israel on every major financial news outlet. I will work on the draft and resubmit it according to your guidance, but please consider it properly. Thank you Orangemike, I don't know how to do that. Can you please explain to me? Metarmetar (talk) 13:18, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

If "it was reported nationwide in Israel on every major financial news outlet" you will have no trouble in finding a source. Theroadislong (talk) 13:20, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

Theroadislong Will this be sufficient? https://www.tase.co.il/en/market_data/company/387/about This is the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange website, Israel Canada is listed there with 14%. Metarmetar (talk) 13:39, 14 August 2022 (UTC) Theroadislong Also please note that the fact that Midtown Residence is the tallest residential building in Israel is also stated in a Wikipedia article I linked. Draft:Webster First Federal Credit Union

You left a comment that the awards listed on my draft aren't notable. I can see why you may think the public voted "Best of Central Mass" award is not, but do you not consider Forbes or the Better Business Bureau to be notable? That is surprising to me. Is it the type of award that's not notable or the organization that gave the award? Talbot2222 (talk) 14:53, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

I mean that they do not have Wikipedia articles about them. Theroadislong (talk) 15:30, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

You've declined my submission Draft:PASHA Travel. Why do you think it's still only advertising?

You say "Just advertising still, do you have a conflict of interest by any chance?" and also flagged paid editing.

I don't have a conflict of interest. I used this travel agency lately when travelling to Azerbaijan and not paid by this organization. I wanted to create this article purely because of my own interest in the country and to practice wiki editing.

I feel I use independent websites as sources and not sure why it is deemed as advertising. I also list key data about the company and the true list of services they offer. Which part isn't sufficient in your opinion and what do I need to remove to make it work on Wikipedia? Vorosvictor (talk) 11:16, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something, Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. The list of services is not really required. Sources need to cover the topic in-depth not just listings or directories. Theroadislong (talk) 11:30, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

IMDB Credits

Hello,

I am a new contributor trying to get the hang of this! I am learning that media personalities seem to be the unwelcomed 'grey area' of Wikipedia. However, I still want to contribute as I've spent one year writing 16 articles about Millennial and Gen Z well-known Personalities.

You left a comment in my article draft about Ashley M Lands, I had used IMDB to verify her in the cast list alongside Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and others. Your comment said:

"Could you use a source other than IMDb?" -- here are some other sources I have found:

VIMEO -- I found an actual video of the fashion show

Dozens of articles like this: -- But AGAIN, IMDb actual lists the entire cast, including my subject. Would this not put me right back where I started of breaking the rule of "the site has to have the person's name in it"?

Please advise -- I hate to think I have wasted my time on all of these entrees. But It does not seem Wikipedia has a way to verify a younger Generation media personalities at this time. That is probably why they are not seen widely on this platform. And when they are, they have links to YT & IMDb.

Any last advice you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Charles

Leahfreemanhaskin Wikipedia doesn't use titles like this in article names. Understanding your comments

Dear theroadislong, I don't understand how you can only make discouraging comments. None of your comments give encouraging direction. They simply discourage citing a one-sided point of view it seems. For instance, putting aside your previous comments, the most recent comment simply states "Wikipedia articles are not written in first person perspective and your own website is not an independent source." It is my understanding that autobiographies will be accepted if it’s written clinically, without promotions and it cites independently verifiable references. All of which was accomplished in the draft submission you read. Now, what is it? Are autobiographies acceptable or not? If not, then why is there guidance given to write one from a clinical POV and without promotions? Why do you not now refer to the independent references in your critique? I have enough of them in this draft to get an understanding if they are linked properly. Why do you not explain how many more I need? Why do you not suggest how to solicit volunteer writers on Wikipedia to write up an autobiography into a biographY? Please, be encouraging with progressive ideas that would lead to a qualified article. Bob Bobpurvey1 (talk) 04:40, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

I'm sorry but this User:Bobpurvey1/Sandbox could never became an acceptable Wikipedia article and is a perfect example of why creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged, please ask for more help at The Wikipedia:Teahouse. Theroadislong (talk)

U.S. Civil Rights Trail

Thank you for your comments and interest in this unpublished Wikipedia page. Agreed, it's a long list, although not "gigantic" in my opinion compared to many others of equal or lesser importance. The fight for civil rights in the United States must be considered one of the most important in human history, should it not? Granted, The Crusades (List of later historians of the Crusades - Wikipedia) are fascinating, but were they more important or notable than the fight for racial equality in the 20th century? The goal here is to flesh out the landmark sites with minimum detail and credible citations, which I'm working on diligently. It is no less encyclopedic than countless other related published entries, many of which I'm finding numerous (often comical) errors, and correcting, as I proceed. I would hope that a venue such as Wikipedia would enthusiastically rally around such a worthy entry, rather than criticize and, in one case, borderline harass during the creation process. Thanks again for your comments. Danceswithedits (talk) 20:19, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

The fight for civil rights in the United States is indeed a very important topic but your topic is the "trail". You are duplicating and copying content that is already available on Wikipedia. You are being paid to edit whilst most of us labour thousands of hours here voluntarily. I have seen no harassment either? Theroadislong (talk) 20:25, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
This is false. I am absolutely NOT "duplicating" content for Wikipedia or elsewhere. If you're going to make that accusation, please point to specific instances of duplication and I will quickly revise. My edits and original content in the current unpublished draft are a complete reversal of the original draft which I did not create or participate in creating. It does not read like a travel brochure at this point, as it presents brief statements of pure historical fact. Again, I ask that you point to specific instance to show otherwise. The "Trail" is a live representation of the Civil Rights movement, hence the page contains the landmarks that comprise the trail. It is dead-on on topic. I am under no obligation to "dispel" that I'm paid for my services, as I have fulfilled my disclosure obligation. Regarding harassment, if you will kindly re-read my comment which states quite clearly "borderline harass" which in my opinion is now coming from you. I firmly stand behind my efforts and will enthusiastically defend this project regardless of your opinions. I've labored countless hours voluntarily, so please spare me the entitled sanctimony. The fact that I'm open about being paid for this worthy and lengthy project does not in any way diminish my work or contribution to Wikipedia. Thanks again.Danceswithedits (talk) 13:37, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
The draft is a list of locations on the United States Civil Rights Trail we already have articles for them, that is duplication of content. Theroadislong (talk) 14:25, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
So, which is it: "edits are doing nothing to dispel the impression that you are being paid to write a travel guide or tourist brochure for the trail" or "at least 120 of these sources do not mention the trail." You have contradicted yourself quite clearly here. Regarding the locations, the heading specifically states "U.S. Civil Rights Trail Historical Landmarks" followed by a list of each landmark with original content. I will stand by this draft upon re-submission and not give into this sort of criticism and virtual bullying. Thanks again. Danceswithedits (talk) 21:36, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
I have not contradicted myself at all, you are quite clearly being paid to promote the trail, and your draft will likely fail, because the vast majority of your sources do not mention the trail at all. Theroadislong (talk) 21:44, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
Belligerent? YOU attacked me. It's in plain black and white above, with a clear personal attack based on the fact that I choose to be a paid professional. And it appears that you're stalking me on other drafts as well. If you continue to bully and/or harass me, I will not hesitate to report this activity. It seems fairly clear from other comments that I am not the only Wikipedia editor with similar concerns. I suggest you simply move on to others who will submit to your entitled bullying. Best wishes. Danceswithedits (talk) 19:32, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
Again, the entry does NOT promote the trail and you did in fact contradict yourself. Your bias is crystal clear. Danceswithedits (talk) 19:33, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
Feel free to report me, paid editing is allowed but that doesn't mean it is welcome. Theroadislong (talk) 20:32, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Draft: Cristina Jacob

Hi! My draft about 'Cristina Jacob - film director' was declined based on the reason that the subject is not qualified for a Wikipedia article. I used many reliable sources that are independent of the subject. On the other hand, Cristina Jacob is a well-known film director, with several box office records of her films, so the subject qualifies for Wikipedia. I would like this dispute to be solved and the article to be published, as it respects Wikipedia guidelines. I would appreciate a third opinion or review on my article. Thank you! Followyoursoul (talk) 15:00, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Looks like your draft has been declined again "submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources". Need your suggestion please

Hi!

I am new on Wikipedia and I need some guidance.

I have come across a profile where it states that the subject “leads street photography workshops”.

Example - Matt Stuart (photographer)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Stuart_(photographer)

Is that not promotional? Isn't that similar to selling a product on Wikipedia?

Does leading photography workshops comes under notability?

Can you shed some light on this please?

Thanks, David

Namburi Paripurna draft

Hi, can you please take a look at the Wikipage for Namburi Paripurna which you relegated to a "Draft" earlier? I worked with others to gather some independent references to add to the article. I guess it meets the Wiki requirements now (although I still think there is a blatant bias here, as there are 100s of articles with no content or hardly any references except news of death reported in newspapers, just continuing without deletion.). Asooryampasya (talk) 15:29, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Sorry but their own books and interviews are not reliable independent sources, and please don't accuse me of bias, that is a personal attack, there are indeed many other poor quality articles, see other stuff exists. Theroadislong (talk) 15:34, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
7 out of 12 references right now are news articles and encyclopedia articles about the author. Of course, there is always a scope for improvement and more references, but isn't that continuous improvement the whole purpose of a Wikipedia article? If the first version should contain each and every reference available, what is the point of claiming Wikipedia needs more representation of women writers and stuff? Bias comment is not about you. It is about Wikipedia's well known bias against women, which is documented. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_bias_on_Wikipedia - this is a Wikipedia article. I took your feedback, asked around, and asked others too to edit the draft and improve it. I have nothing to gain or lose in this. I am not the author nor am I related to her. I am just another reader who thinks her work deserves a Wikipedia page. So, the only take home message for me is that Wikipedia is primarily for non-colored, male people. It will take a while before I can attempt to change or create any edit on Wikipedia again about Telugu people - male or female. Asooryampasya (talk) 17:23, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
I have not reviewed the article again, I merely commented that they would need to pass the criteria at WP:NWRITER and that their own books and interviews are not independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 17:46, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
Please look at the below list I have given. These 5 independent sources talk about her works and life.- Ravichandra (talk) 17:50, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi, I am listing the independent references cited in the article.
  • Article from Andhrabhoomi, a reliable Telugu news paper published an article on her.
  • A book mentioned her contributions towards Dalit literature. It is not a passing mention, almost 1.5 pages of information is given.
  • Andhra Jyoti another notable Telugu news paper published independent article about her life and works
  • BBC Telugu published article includes her work
  • Hans India, Another Indian news paper talked about her writings.
May I know why these sources are not considered for notability of the subject? Ravichandra (talk) 17:36, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Draft: Forge Theological Seminary

Regarding your comment, "not remotely clear why this is a notable topic? Theroadislong (talk) 15:18, 3 September 2022 (UTC):" The institution is just as notable as other established entries (e.g., The North American Reformed Seminary; Whitefield Theological Seminary; Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary), fitting within the list of Reformed seminaries in the United States (see template) and the List of Calvinist educational institutions in North America. According to the Notability Policy regarding organizations and companies, "notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." There are at least two sources cited in the draft article. IRGRand (talk) 15:38, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

See other stuff exists and you have zero independent reliable sources I'm afraid and the three articles you mention are all tagged for poor referencing and lack of notability.Theroadislong (talk) 15:43, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
I cited both a book and article that are both independent. My comment was not "This article exists, therefore this one should too." Rather, my reference to the other articles was regarding their notability and to the subjects inclusion in longstanding wiki lists. IRGRand (talk) 15:55, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide multiple references to in-depth articles with significant content written about the seminary in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online. Theroadislong (talk) 16:01, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
The palpable inconsistency is tiring. Your claim that the draft reads like an advertisement is unfounded. IRGRand (talk) 16:22, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Please visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk for other opinions, there is absolutely no inconsistency, that other poor quality articles exist is irrelevant, they need fixing, we don't need to add even more. Theroadislong (talk) 16:25, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Danville Mass Transit

I must disagree with your decision to decline the article. I don't see how it could possibly be understood as an advertisement, considering the language used and the fact that this is about a public transit agency, not just some random company. The fact that hundreds of thousands of people rely on the service, yet there is no article about it is a problem. Additionally, there are 9 sources cited, 2 of which are from the agency's website regarding the timetables/routes and transit center. Timetables/routes cannot be found anywhere else so the claim that the article relies too much on that agency's website is frankly absurd. Znns (talk) 18:55, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
