A tag has been placed on 2019 United States Border closure requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Gas Monkey

Yelling it in all-caps doesn't make it more valid. And "DISAGREE PER BRD" means nothing at all. BRD is not an excuse to revert: it is a way to settle a dispute. And what dispute do we have here? You're writing up semi-promotional articles, larded with lousy pictures you took yourself. Gas Monkey Live doesn't have a single proper source: even the ones that could be called secondary are just local promotional write-ups, and I wonder if you have a conflict of interest you need to declare here. Drmies (talk) 15:11, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Drmies:, I have no conflict of interest, you are welcome to post better pictures if you like. I use all caps in the computer application that I use, so I forgot to turn off caps lock. The article is not promotional, talks about a major music venue in Dallas, and is properly sourced. --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:32, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
    • No, no pictures is better than bad pictures. You are well aware of our guidelines, and yet you turn these articles into galleries. Whether the articles are promotional or not is probably not easy for you to decide, though I'm surprised that you would say "properly sourced" when you know that's simply not true. You have obviously been to that place a couple of times: COI doesn't mean you get free beers or whatever, it simply means you have a conflict of interest, and it seems pretty clear to me that you do, and that it clouds your judgment. Drmies (talk) 23:31, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
      • Reply - @Drmies:, WP:AGF, statements like "You are well aware" and "you know that's simply not true" should not be used without sufficient evidence. You are welcome to take the articles to WP:AFM if you like. --Jax 0677 (talk) 14:36, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Maintenance templates generally go at the top

This is just a quick note to let you know that maintenance templates, including the link rot template you've been adding to articles, should be placed at the top of the article and not at the bottom. ElKevbo (talk) 17:35, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - @ElKevbo:, thank you very much for your feedback. I will take this under advisement. However, sometimes, I am editing from a phone, which makes it easier to add the {{LR}} tag to whatever section is most convenient. Furthermore, the {{LR}} tags are usually removed within a few days, if not a few hours, because the issue is quickly rectified. --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:40, 23 June 2019 (UTC)

WP:CEN is now open!

To all interested parties: Now that it has a proper shortcut, the current events noticeboard has now officially opened for discussion!

WP:CEN came about as an idea I explored through a request for comment that closed last March. Recent research has re-opened the debate on Wikipedia's role in a changing faster-paced internet. Questions of WP:NOTNEWS and WP:Recentism are still floating around. That being said, there are still plenty of articles to write and hopefully this noticeboard can positively contribute to that critical process.

Thank you for your participation in the RFC, and I hope to see you at WP:CEN soon! –MJLTalk 19:05, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

Repointing redirects

I don't agree with you repointing song/album articles to specific sections when said release is mentioned at more than one place on the article. It's always down to someone's (in this case, your) assessment on where there is "more" information about the topic, but I believe we should be letting readers find the information on the article themselves instead of forcing them to look at one section first. Also, your move of Metal Galaxy (album) to Metal galaxy and then requesting a move with "CAPS" as the reason, when you caused said capitalisation issue...what was the point? Please don't move others' articles to incorrectly capitalised namespaces. You should have just requested it before moving it anywhere. Also, I don't require a ping/reply template, I still watch your talk page. Thanks. Ss112 20:18, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - I disagree with you about pointing to a specific section, but you are entitled to your opinion. I believe in WP:POLA when redirecting, which is why I choose a section. I moved Metal Galaxy (album) to the site that had the most similar name to the title that is the prime direction for now. The article ended up in the correct place eventually, and should have been created at the correct title in the first place. --Jax 0677 (talk) 23:41, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
Jax, no user is obligated to start an article over a redirect another user created. I wanted to make the article, and I wanted it in mainspace and not in draftspace in case another user started the article in mainspace first, so that's why I made it where I did. And why did you just link "the article" in your reply to WP:OWN? What does any of this have to do with ownership? Was anything in my message unreasonable and indicating anything as my article? No. I asked you a question. Don't be passive aggressive. We're all well aware Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia, but that doesn't mean we all agree. Ss112 00:58, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
I forgot to put in a move request. If I knew you were going to take "others' articles" as not meaning "articles others created" but to be an indication of ownership, then I would have made sure to say "Please do not move articles to incorrectly capitalised namespaces". Jeez. Don't take the worst meaning from words, because as I'm sure you're aware from when you've been misunderstood, sometimes they're ambiguous. Ss112 04:10, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Bury Me in Blasphemy

Hello, Jax 0677. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Bury Me in Blasphemy".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. CptViraj (📧) 08:29, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

There is no mention of "Cold" at Korn discography

Please add the single to the discography, which you should have done after making the redirect. Thank you. Ss112 05:29, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Ss112:, if you look carefully here, you will see that "Cold" was removed after I created the redirect, and should be directed to the album once that article is indeed created. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:31, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps you could have sourced it after it was removed, considering you created the redirect. Also, don't edit war over retaining a bare URL when the peak is accessible through the reference in the header. Nobody updates accessdates on discographies, including yourself from when I've seen you add chart peaks on the few occasions you actually have, so don't act like you do. To allay your whinging, however, I've changed the precious date as I assume that's what your problem is. Ss112 17:04, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
You know, it's funny if your concern is an accessdate considering you couldn't be bothered to supply one with the additional BARE URL you supplied. Did you realise that? Instead of updating the accessdate of the reference in the header, you provided a bare URL with no accessdate. Make your edits make sense in future. Ss112 17:09, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Reply - @Ss112:, the access date will likely appear when the Linkrot tag is dealt with. --Jax 0677 (talk) 17:11, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
So you presumably supplied the bare URL because the reference in the header still said "2018" in its accessdate, when you could have easily fixed that instead, but then to fix your bare URL having no accessdate, you tagged the article for link rot... that doesn't make any damn sense. You would have to be one of the laziest editors I know on this site. You tag and basically never fix the problems you're tagging because the "burden" isn't on you. Even when you "create" articles, you copy half an irrelevant chart table from another article without changing any of the accessdates. You have no right to be complaining about refs being "obtained in 2018" when you add wikitables with chart peaks for singles to album articles without changing any of the accessdates. I have seen that at least a dozen times. What absolute nonsense and hypocrisy. Ss112 17:14, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure that Best Ever Trivia Show meets the television notability guidelines. So far all I've found is press releases. It's been on the air three months and doesn't even have an IMDb entry. That's plenty of time for a tv show to gain attention. I think you'd be better off sending it to AFD, unless somehow you find something I don't. Link rot

Why did you add this reference and then the tag for link rot once you were done? It suggests you understand the implications of your actions but couldn't be bothered to make the effort to rectify the problem. Given you have been editing here since 2009 (you are certainly no novice) I am left with one impression...utter laziness. Please correct me if I am mistaken and if so, I'd love to hear why you performed the above mentioned action. Robvanvee 07:56, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Robvanvee:, I added the reference because the album title needed a reference. I added the linkrot tag because I was in a hurry. In any event, I don't think it is a big deal. --Jax 0677 (talk) 13:25, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Well, that just confirms my suspicion then. Robvanvee 13:39, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Unfortunately Robvanvee, you just learned what many other editors already know about Jax. He has been brought to ANI more than once because of this behavior. Jax thinks linkrot is run by a bot, yet it isn't and he is just creating work for others who can be doing more productive things. He thinks access dates are automatically added when the tool for fixing link rot is used, but it is not. He abuses the link rot tag because of an unwillingness to correct the issues himself, and he is being especially inconsiderate when adding the tag to his own contributions to an article. I would be willing to bring this to ANI in order to discourage this unconstructive behavior that is a detriment to Wikipedia collaboration, and I wouldn't limit it to linkrot tagging but to all of his overtagging of articles. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:24, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
It really does leave one wondering why they even bother in the first place...? Robvanvee 19:05, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Incorrect info

Thanks so much for updating the Goo Goo Dolls page. As a super fan, I look at it a lot, but I wanted to respectfully let you know that regarding the Miracle Pill album updates, Indestructible and Money, Fame, & Fortune are not singles, they are just pre-releases which is normal when enticing people to buy an album. Colt Ford discography

I don't get your tagging on Colt Ford discography. The source, even what you can see before you hit the paywall, clearly says that the single is called "Slow Ride" and features Mitchell Tenpenny. My recent edits to articles on MFSB members

I noted that you've been heavily involved with these articles, so I made a few tweaks to them. For instance, at Ron Kersey, I recategorized, changing the "American keyboardists" category to "20th-century American keyboardists", also adding wikilinks to artists for whom an article exists, and adding additional categories, including "American music arrangers", and I added this category to the Thom Bell and Vincent Montana Jr. articles, too. In my opinion, the categories I added (e.g. "American music arrangers") are appropriate for these articles, as they're clearly supported by their content. If these were somehow bad edits, feel free to revert, but hopefully these were good edits.--2601:153:901:60C0:4030:5257:78E8:CB2E (talk) 17:21, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

The Sick Bag Song

Errr any reason why you reverted me, and with such a rude edit summary to boot? GiantSnowman 14:32, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

It is a valid redirect to a relevant section on Nick Cave's article where it is mentioned... GiantSnowman 14:44, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi it's hard to follow BRD when you won't D and just revert... GiantSnowman 16:54, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
I've created an article as requested and restored the link on the template. GiantSnowman 17:00, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Please do not introduce inappropriate pages, such as Template:The Deadweights, to Wikipedia. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

Jovanmilic97 (talk) 10:51, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

EDIT: I have toned down/removed some parts of the automated speedy deletion message, because they are very aggressive for such a case like this (a template consisting of very elaborate hoaxes). Regards, Jovanmilic97 (talk) 10:57, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

Deadweights articles

Please see Wikipedia:Teahouse#Fake articles? for discussion of these articles and the related template. If you have actual sources that establish the real existence of this band, please post there or notify the deleting admin Theroadislong. The conclusion was that this is a rather elaborate hoax, involving multiple Wikipedia articles and at least two outside web pages, that has been in place since 2007. Do you dispute that? DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 19:45, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - @DESiegel:, I do not dispute, nor have I researched the issue. Please leave the navbox deleted, but know that I only created the navbox, not the article. --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:48, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
    • Understood, you relied in good faith on the creators and editors of the various articles, as initially i did. A hoax so well-established and long lasting is, I hope, unusual here. No one is blaming you for having, in 2015, added a navbox to several articles created in 2007 by other editors. Several respected and experienced editors had edited the hoax articles, apparently without realizing the hoax. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 19:55, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

EP is capitalized

Why would your purposely move an article to an incorrect disambiguated title, such as you did with Sheep (Smile Empty Soul album). You know that EP is capitalized. The fact that this requires administrator's help is no excuse to move to something else that is clearly and knowingly wrong because it's going to require assistance to fix no matter what. If you can't do it yourself, it's better not to do anything at all. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 03:45, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars:, I was on a phone at the time, which makes it more difficult to create a move request. The article should have been created at Sheep (EP) in the first place. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:02, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
    • Exactly. So don't bother changing it to something it shouldn't be when you can just wait and request the change to what it should be. WP:NORUSH. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 20:01, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Hong Kong protests (2019–present) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -KAP03 (Talk • Contributions • Email) 18:57, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

An WP:RFC is required to be neutrally-worded. I suggest removing the repeated "this is fact" bits, taking out the scare quotes around besieged, and separating the paragraph at the end into your comment in a "Survey" section. After all, those parts are part of the thing you're asking editors to decide. --Aquillion (talk) 06:21, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 8

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of killings by law enforcement officers in the United States, September 2019, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Defunct (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:55, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

"I Don't Love You"

Just after editing a few Kelsea Ballerini pages (please check out Draft:Kelsea (album) and feel free to edit the draft if more is known) you edited the I Don't Love You (disambiguation) page with an update tag. Because of this, unless you tell me otherwise I'll assume that you're expecting that the third Kelsea Ballerini album will have a song titled I Don't Love You. Is this right?? I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, Jax 0677

Thank you for creating List of pipeline accidents in the United States in 1988.

User:Insertcleverphrasehere, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

I'd suggest changing the format of the list items to include the Day/month only. Would improve organisation, and the year is unnecessary given that this list is only 1988 anyway.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Insertcleverphrasehere}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

Template:Huntress

Please do not put maintenance tags on templates, as you did on Template:Huntress. It causes the maintenance tag to show up on every page using the template. If a template needs maintenance, I would suggest bringing it up on the template's talk page so it doesn't interfere with articles using the template. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 23:32, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

If you need to add something to a template which should not be transcluded into the pages which use it, you can use <noinclude> --kingboyk (talk) 15:32, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

I think I took care of the sourcing issues here. The sentence

She was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2015 Grammy Awards.

didn't need a {{citation needed}} because it is already sourced later on in the article. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 19:30, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

The single "Who Do You Think I Am" already has a source under the subheader "016–present: Big Day in a Small Town and Your Life Is a Record". Facts only need to be cited once, not every single time they appear. Same thing with the sentence "She was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2015 Grammy Awards." in the lead -- that's already cited further down the page and doesn't need to be cited again in the intro. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 04:12, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of film director and cinematographer collaborations is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of film director and cinematographer collaborations until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.  Bait30  Talk? 06:46, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
