Hi Whispyhistory,

I've just been reading Jainti Dass Saggar, and was surprised to read about "imports of cheap jute from India that were undercutting the profits of manufacturers in Glasgow". I'm pretty sure you can't grow jute in the climate of Scotland. I would expect the availabilty of cheap imports from India to benefit manufacturers in Glasgow. Can you explain? I took the liberty of adding an extra citation after the sentence in question, since it was clear from the nominator's comment that the citation covered the entire contents of the paragraph. Thanks for contributing to the article Max Jessner. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. Possible DYKs

Well, the reference says he was know as 'Mu' but 'Mu' does not mean Potato in Hindi. The correct Hindi word for potato is 'Alu' (also spelled 'Aloo'). I think: The person who typed it from written text had mistakenly read /\lu as Mu. :) Regards,-Nizil (talk) 14:11, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
