Adminship

Would you like to run for adminship? I thought you we're already one. You seem like a perfect candidate. :) --AmaryllisGardener talk 03:27, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@AmaryllisGardener: Well, glad to hear! However, for the same reason that I declined Xeno's offer, I personally don't feel that RFA will play nicely on me. For instance, the large majority of my edits are vandalism reverts. Another massive portion is maintenance edits to keep the gears of Wikipedia running smoothly. Very few of my edits are of actual article development, and especially the AFD section, which !voters at RFA want to see. In any case, I would like to wait a bit longer, maybe actually sit down and start building articles instead of playing "Wikipedia Tower Defense", and we'll see how it goes from there. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 03:31, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that's fine. To me, you just explained why the mop would be useful to you (mops are for maintenance work), but I know RfA voters don't always see it that way. Anyway, if you ever decide to run, you have my full support! :) --AmaryllisGardener talk 03:35, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir

I thank you for your recommendations. I will give many good edits with your advice. - 50.153.132.142 (talk) 03:47, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Trouted

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

swmusic name change

Please let me know your concerns about our name change. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Swmusic (talkcontribs) 01:24, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Swmusic: The account you have requested, Annabass, is already registered. If you want this rename to proceed, consider filing a request at m:SRUC. Alternatively you can just pick a new name at WP:CHUS. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 03:09, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Please comment on nl.wiki using BWR to show that you own it.

Hi there. I just wanted to say thay I followed your request for a confirmation of owning the account name 'BWR' on nl.wiki . You can see that I changed the User:BWR page to confirm. Can the usurpation be completed with this information? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghanib (talkcontribs) 12:47, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Ghanib: I've added your diff to the request page. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 12:49, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

username change request

Yesterday I requested a change to my username from Radicalchoicesllc to Rchoices. I haven't hear whether or not this has been approved. Can you tell me? Radicalchoicesllc (talk) 17:37, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Radicalchoicesllc: It hasn't been approved because you are still using the old name, and looking at the logs no action has been taken yet. AFAIK there are still concerns that your new username might still be somewhat related to the company you work for, and may not be a "personal" or "one-person" username. --I am k6ka Talk to me! Huggle message

Hey K6ka! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers

I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/

Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 10:06, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

guitar boogie (song) LYRICS

Sorry, but I am not all over how to information correctly and the directions are way too complicated and time consuming. My ex-girlfriends father, John R. O'Connell, originally from the coal regions of Pennsylvania north of Pottsville, PA had a band that played in area bars. The had words to this song. He sang and played guitar. He passed the song down to his children. Three of his four children play guitar and know the song and most of the words, but don't recall quite all of them. Searching on the WWW has turned up nothing.

Maybe someone out there knows what they are and who really came up with the lyrics, unless it is possible that her dad or members of his band came up with these on their own? At some point I'll have the lyrics that they recall to post.

Please add this if you could. My personal e-mail is bfmcelroy@comcast.net

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.90.14.185 (talk) 16:21, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, we need to make sure that the information can be verified, such as through a citation (you know how you need to cite your sources in an academic paper; Wikipedia is no different). Secondly, we also need to make sure this is notable. We don't record or publish the names of high school garage bands that only entertained their family or classmates at most. Thirdly, we unfortunately don't accept original research, which is when someone who claims they are involved publish information that would otherwise only be obtained from that person. For example, a Holocaust survivor cannot write something on Wikipedia and claim it is true, citing themselves as a source. Otherwise we could easily have people saying "The sky is blue" and cite "Me, Myself, and I" as a source, which is not allowed. In your case, we can't actually take what you say as true unless you also have a reliable source to prove it.
Oh, and I don't email people over issues like this. You will need to communicate with me and other editors on this page, or on the article talk page. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 17:42, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
