Hi

okay this might be the last time i talk to your talk page but would you help me right there Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Articles for creation/Participants? im trying there as a participants can you see it, i didnt mean it as a spam please sorry newroderick895 (talk) 11:30, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Newroderick895: I can see the request you've filed there just fine. What seems to be the problem? —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:55, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
im afraid this can be a spam newroderick895 (talk) 12:00, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
and if that is the big deal would you like to accept it or decline @K6ka: newroderick895 (talk) 12:01, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Newroderick895: No, it's not. On Wikipedia we have a specific definition of what spam is; your edit doesn't come anywhere close to that definition. Plus, it was filed in good faith and you weren't trying to harm Wikipedia, so all's well on your end. Even if your request gets declined, it won't be because it was spam.
As to who's going to approve or decline the request, I am not involved in AFC so I'm not in a position to approve or decline it. Be patient :) —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 12:04, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' newsletter – April 2018

News and updates for administrators from the past month (March 2018).

Administrator changes

added 331dotCordless LarryClueBot NG
removed Gogo DodoPb30SebastiankesselSeicerSoLando

Guideline and policy news

  • Administrators who have been desysopped due to inactivity are now required to have performed at least one (logged) administrative action in the past 5 years in order to qualify for a resysop without going through a new RfA.
  • Editors who have been found to have engaged in sockpuppetry on at least two occasions after an initial indefinite block, for whatever reason, are now automatically considered banned by the community without the need to start a ban discussion.
  • The notability guideline for organizations and companies has been substantially rewritten following the closure of this request for comment. Among the changes, the guideline more clearly defines the sourcing requirements needed for organizations and companies to be considered notable.
  • The six-month autoconfirmed article creation trial (ACTRIAL) ended on 14 March 2018. The post-trial research report has been published. A request for comment is now underway to determine whether the restrictions from ACTRIAL should be implemented permanently.

Technical news

Arbitration

  • The Arbitration Committee is considering a change to the discretionary sanctions procedures which would require an editor to appeal a sanction to the community at WP:AE or WP:AN prior to appealing directly to the Arbitration Committee at WP:ARCA.

Miscellaneous

  • A discussion has closed which concluded that administrators are not required to enable email, though many editors suggested doing so as a matter of best practice.
  • The Foundations' Anti-Harassment Tools team has released the Interaction Timeline. This shows a chronologic history for two users on pages where they have both made edits, which may be helpful in identifying sockpuppetry and investigating editing disputes.

User page copies

Hi! I recently encountered a userpage, User:AlwiZaman30 that looked to be a copy of your userpage with little changes. Do you have any idea as to what the appropriate course of action would be here? And is this some sort of LTA? hiàn 03:23, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Hiàn: Majora just blanked their userpage. Their edits sure do look suspicious; new users don't exactly join Wikipedia copypasta-ing an admin's userpage and creating templates to replace MediaWiki system messages. I'm not in the business of sniffing out LTAs but I am inclined to believe that this is probably someone's sock. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 03:44, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
