Nuneaton Telegraph[edit]

Hi.

I recently contributed to the infobox template list of UK regional daily newspapers, where I added the Nuneaton Telegraph, but I was quick to see it removed from the list as you called it a 'weekly newspaper', however it is in fact a daily newspaper - albeit without its own page at this moment in time.

Nuneaton's weekly newspaper is actually the Nuneaton News which is only printed and sold on Wednesdays. This is proven on the publisher (Reach plc)'s website just here.

I am currently creating a list of local written media for both Nuneaton and Hinckley, but I have not got around to making it its own dedicated page yet.

A quick look at the PressReader website for the paper, linked here will indeed show the publication is daily (excluding Sundays).

I have no objection to it being re-added once it has its own Wikipedia entry if that works for you.

Kind regards, Pokkeballs17 (talk) 13:02, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for following up on this, I did a cursory search and thought it was a weekly, but you're quite right, it is a daily - albeit an edition of the Coventry Telegraph. In general, where a newspaper has multiple editions, it's only listed once on the template (e.g. The [Sheffield] Star and The [Doncaster] Star, or the various local editions of the North West Evening Mail, but this is a little different as the editions have different titles. There's definitely a case that all three editions should be listed, or that only one should be. Either way, I think that the titles of the various editions should redirect to the Coventry Telegraph article as there's unlikely to be enough to say about them to merit their own articles. Pattern Weavers' Society[edit]

Hello, in this edit you added a category Category:Trade unions based in West Yorkshire but I can find no information in article of a West Yorkshire connection. The only location mentioned is Cumberworth in Lincolnshire. Can you shed any light on this? Keith D (talk) 22:19, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for checking, the location needed disambiguating - it was based in Upper Cumberworth in West Yorkshire, as the street name demonstrates. Warofdreams talk 22:37, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying. Keith D (talk) 01:02, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Third Reich expeditions[edit]

Hi! Recently I came across a request for an article (or articles) on the expeditions of the Third Reich. I intended to create a German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939) article. After reading your rather copious paragraph about it in your article New Swabia I wonder if this is really necessary. Would you agree, that I simply create one article for all (three relevant) Third Reich expeditions? All the best Wikirictor talk • contribs 19:39, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again! I noticed, that an article for the Third Reich Tibetan expedition exists already. That means we need two more - one for the Antarctic Expedition (i made it already) - and one for the Amazon expedition. I included a paragraph of your article New Swabia into the Antarctic Expedition article (Geographic features mapped by the expedition), which i thought is great. I hope you are fine with that. If not, please let me know. All the best Wikirictor talk • contribs 10:18, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the update, the new articles look excellent and if some part of my very old contribution is useful I'm very happy with that! Warofdreams talk 15:40, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Organized labour project[edit]

Thank you for earlier joining the Organized Labour project. I've been a participant in the project since 2006 and am helping with a revival of it. As part this we are introducing a new membership system, which will help with communications among participants. This involves creating a membership file for each participant within your user space (you can see an example of my membership card here: User:Goldsztajn/WikiProjectCards/WikiProject Organized Labour). This system is already in operation within a number of wikiprojects (such as Women in Red and Medicine). You will not have to do anything, myself or someone else from the project will create the relevant file within your userspace. However, I am conscious that it is impolite to change an editor's userspace without notice. If I don't hear from you in the negative, I will go ahead with making the change in the next two weeks. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Many thanks for supporting the project, in solidarity,--Goldsztajn (talk) 23:20, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on the Keyboard picketing award![edit]

Solidarity forever
I'm scared to see what will happen should you organize n a wiki strike ;) Your dozen articles on trade union related topics this week are extensive and I enjoyed reading and reviewing them! Many thanks, an award I will be proud of! I signed up for WP:LABOR way back in 2006, and haven't really been active there, but I'm still finding lots of new aspects of the labour movement to write about. Warofdreams talk 01:18, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Workers Resistance (Ukraine)[edit]

I have quite a wry smile on my face at the moment, having just discovered you created this article back in 2005. I wonder, were you aware of the role of a certain Ukrainian wrestling fan and the yahoo group Leftist Trainspotters in that saga? Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 13:33, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent, I've not thought about that article for a long time, but yes, I was a member of the Leftist Trainspotters group back then and that'll be where I first heard the story! Warofdreams talk 22:22, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect we probably crossed paths under different noms de plume! There's a few other former trainspotters on Wikipedia I've come across over the years, nice to meet you again! Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 01:47, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minster Yard/Minster Court[edit]

Wondering if you have any insight as to whether 1–3 Minster Court were previously the same numbers on Minster Yard at some point. I'm not seeing any evidence of 1–3 Minster Yard in my Google searches. It just seems weird that the numbers of Minster Yard seem to begin at 4. British History has been helpful up till now, but isn't clarifying this issue, if there even is one. To muddy the waters even more, the Minster website lists Treasurer's House as being 2 Minster Yard. - Seasider53 (talk) 00:37, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's a great question, and harder to answer than I expected. In the 1850s, the street still didn't have an official name, though it was generally referred to as Minster Yard. There's no evidence the buildings were numbered at the time, either. By the start of the 20th-century, the buildings had been numbered, and Minster Court was a separate street. But I can't find any evidence of the order of these two events. It seems logical that the numbering happened first, but e.g. at Blossom Street, the numbering continues into The Mount despite the change in name.
